Anki's Sweethearts - Emilia

Happy Saturday!! Whew! Well between major issues I was having with Blogger, all the electrical storms of last night and this morning and our family outing, I am amazed I can finally get this card up and posted. But here it is at last. :)

This little darling is called Emilia, and she's one of Anki's Sweethearts, a stamp line exclusive to Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. She's definitely a sweetheart! I love her ankle-strap shoes.

Extra anticipation with this creation as well - I am able to share this card on my blog after weeks of waiting! It was published in Scrapbook News and Review in the June issue; I was their Guest Cardmaker for the month and this is one of four featured projects I created for the article. What a treat that was!

The colors here are Elegant Eggplant, Soft Sky and Baja Breeze. Of course you see some Basic Grey Wisteria in there too, one of my favorites in the BG lines! What this card really needed was some Flower Soft for her little bouquet, but I didn't have any the right color. :( Now that the new POLAR WHITE is out (Susana haaaaaaaaaaaaaaas some!!!), I think I'll try making my own custom color. That will make me REALLY happy!

All the standard deets for this one, I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. Did some highlighting with the Ranger white gel pen when all the coloring was done. Cut and matted the sky section using Petite Oval Nestabilities and added the white dots with the gel pen too. Cuttlebugged the background piece and the circle behind the main layer, and Kaisercraft pearl accents all around. Viola!

In other news - Susana has gotten more new products in! Check out the NEW Robin's Nest Tear Drops, just released Pink Cat Fairy Friends, and of course the new Flower Soft!

Thanks for stopping by today, have a good rest of the weekend!

Butterflies & Birthdays

Happy 4th of July!!! Today's card features Catherine with Butterfly from Anki's Sweethearts from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. She's one of my favorite Anki's -- and I know she's seen the most ink!! This image is from the first series release. Sentiment is from the Pink Cat Studio Lily & Tweet plate, also available from SCACD.

I stamped my Sweetheart with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. I added some highlights with the Ranger white gel pen when all the coloring was done. Cut and matted using Curved Rectangle Nestabilities.

The card base is Chocolate Chip, and I painted it first with Silver Bells Shimmerz, and then after that dried I painted it with Pumpkin Shimmerz to get a softer brown color and a lot of BLING BLING going on! For once I used brads instead of rhinestones or pearls, hahaha, can you believe it?? Flowers are assorted paper goodies from my stash. Susana sells some great white ones that you can custom color with Shimmerz or Copic markers (or whatever, really!).

Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!! Check out the TEASER I have for you......

Anki's Sweethearts - Isac

Bring on the weekend! I don't know about you but it's been a long week over here so I am happy to have an extra set of hands around here with the kids for the next two days. :)

Today's project features one of the new Sweethearts from Anki's June release at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design - meet Isac! I am always ready for good boy images and Anki did not disappoint! You can see all the latest stamps by clicking the link above, or the blinkie in my right sidebar.

I stamped this cutie with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with - you guessed it - Copic markers. I cut out the finished image using Labels 4 Nestabilities and then snipped off the sides with my paper cutter. I cut the same shape a second time, colored the paper to match with my Copics and then cut off the top and bottom with my paper cutter and added them as a shadow of a mat behind the main image for a little more dimension.

The soccer ball paper is from my stash, as are the green brads that make the line along the side. The word "Goal" is from the latest set of Susanaments designed to accompany the new Anki's Sweethearts. I omitted the rest of the sentiment just because it wouldn't fit onto the card. The image panel is adhered with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope that everyone has a great Father's Day weekend!

Anki's Sweethearts - RELEASE DAY!!

Yes, it's HERE!! Today is the day and the new Anki's Sweethearts for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design are available now at the store!! Click on the blinkie above to be taken directly to the main Anki page.

Here's another sample for you. This card uses Rebecka, who is teaching all sorts of important things to her stuffed bunnies. Isn't she a SWEETHEART?! I matched her up with the blinkie, LOL, it was unintentional, I swear!! Just like the last few days, each design team member is showing off one of the new images on their blogs today, as well as on the SCACD store blog, so be inspired!!

I stamped Miss Rebecka in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. I added some highlights with the Ranger white gel pen when all the coloring was done. Cut and matted using Circle Nestabilities. I added the white sugarcoating glitter to her headband using a Quickie Glue pen - the BEST glue for adding powders, hands down, I buy them in quantities of at least 5, heehee, and use them all the time. If you haven't tried it you should, it's cheap, holds well, dries clear and has a fine point tip so you can get a little bit of "blue glue" into almost any nook or cranny you'll find! Threaded through my layered ribbon, hand-doodled around the edge of the main image and the sentiment and viola! The glittery paper is from Die Cuts With A View and the patterned paper is Basic Grey Wisteria, which Susana will soon be carrying!!.

As I said, the stamps are IN STOCK now so enjoy your Friday Frenzy Spending Spree of these new little Sweethearts! Have a great weekend!

My card for today features Emilia, this little doll with her flowers and picnic basket. Isn't she wonderful?? Anki did a wonderful job with these new images!

I stamped Miss Emilia in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. I added some highlights with the Ranger white gel pen when all the coloring was done. Cut and matted using Petite Oval Nestabilities. The colors are Bashful Blue, Old Olive and Really Rust.

I took a piece of die-cut chipboard and painted it with Pumpkin Smooch before tucking it behind my oval to add a little extra pizazz. That's a Petaloo Dazzler on the horizontal panel, layered with a regular green paper flower. Glitter Dots along the bottom to finish it off!

Anki's Sweethearts 2 PREVIEW - Fluffy

It's here!! Today is the first preview day for the new series of Anki's Sweethearts for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design!! I think you all know how much I loved the first series, and these new ones have even managed to top that release. Each design team member is showing off one of the new images on their blogs today and tomorrow, and the new stamps will be available for purchase at the SCACD store THIS Friday, June 12th at 4 AM EST.

My card for today features FLUFFY, this darling little bunny. Isn't he adorable?? Oh, that little face is just perfect. For some reason I keep calling Fluffy a "he", and then I colored "him" pink for today's card. Go figure!! I like that s/he can be any color, really, depending on how you want to accessorize! Makes it so versatile for baby cards, kid birthdays, just because, or anything you need!

I stamped Fluffy in
Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. I added some highlights with the Ranger white gel pen when all the coloring was done. Cut and matted using Classic Circle Nestabilities. The colors are Pretty in Pink and Always Artichoke. I found the sentiment tag in my friend Heather's stash when we were stamping on Saturday - how PERFECT! Thanks Heather!

Catherine Dreams Big!

Welcome to the weekend!!! Last night I got some time to play with my Anki's Sweethearts for SCACD stamps - another exclusive line that Susana has nabbed. They were my first love from her store and I have never looked back! This image is called Catherine the Vet. That puppy - oh, the cuteness!!

I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black, and colored with Copic markers. Have you checked out the blue jeans bundle of Copic markers that coloring goddess Suzanne Dean has put together for SCACD? Perfect jeans every time - no thinking required!!! Suzanne has some tutorial videos up on her blog as well, so get the markers then follow her easy video! Of course I always need to go back and do some highlighting with the with the white gel pen - really make it pop!

After I colored and matted the image I found some matching background paper, added some layered ribbon to add dimension to the background, and then stamped the "Dream Big" Susanament onto an acrylic clear tag and added it to the card. The Susanaments were created to go along with the images in the new Victoria Case for SCACD collection, but they are SO versatile and the wordings are just so sweet, you can use them with any image!

Thanks for stopping by today! I will see you back here tomorrow with the first preview for the upcoming {Little Paper Shop} May release!

Try It Out Tuesday #16 - Halfsies!

Welcome to another Try It Out Tuesday - this is #16! The last Tuesday in April, boy the month has flown by! This week Design Team leader Suzanne Dean challenged us to "Half It". You can only use part of your stamped image on your project this week, not the whole thing!!! All that time every night agonizing over finding JUST the perfect shape and EXACTLY the right size for the image -- and she makes us cut 'em up?!? LOL. Challenging - but MUCH fun; I love being made to think outside of my box.

Of course I reached for one of my Anki's Sweethearts at SCACD to make today's challenge card. This is Julia with Flowers. She has the sweetest little dress on. Now you know I love my boys to death and wouldn't trade them for anything, but I am sometimes sad to miss out on the opportunity to dress a daughter in GIRLY GIRL dresses and take her out on the town, heehee. I suppose I will have to settle for coloring and accessorizing my images, huh? I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics, then went through and added some highlighting with the white gel pen. Colors are Baja Breeze, Black, and Pretty in Pink.

I know I have mentioned this before, but it's such a good deal that it bears repeating. If you like these Anki's Sweethearts as much as I do, check out the major deal that Susana has on these fun images. But the "bundle" of all 10 together for only $50. That's a big discount off the individual prices, so In the end that just amounts to free rubbah. mmm...free rubbah!

Ok, what else? After I stamped and colored, I cut out the image and mats with Square Nestabilities. Then I colored some paper flowers with coordinating Copic colors and added them to the corner. I also added some Kaisercraft Pearls in Snow on the flower and in the corner. Border punch along the bottom edges, ribbons from the big "bag-o-ribbon" and viola!

Check out the SCACD store blog today for everyone's TIOT #16 projects! If you play along with us, be sure to use the keyword TIOT when you upload so we can find your project. Individual links to the rest of the SCACD Divas are on my left sidebar. Thanks for stopping by today!

Catherine Says Get Well Soon

Happy Saturday! Today's card features one of my favorite new images - Catherine the Vet from Anki's Sweethearts at SCACD. I love her little puppy with the bandaid. As soon as I saw her she went right in my cart - NO QUESTION about that one!!

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics, then went through and added some highlighting with the white gel pen. The colors I chose are Real Red, black, and Basic Grey. I cut her out with Labels 2 Nestabilities. Since I used the largest die to cut the image, I went back and cut another panel the same size from Basic Grey cardstock, cut it in half and adhered it to the image to show on the top and bottom to be my mat. I added it to the card base with dimensionals. I hand-doodled the faux stitching on the tag and image. The sentiment is from {Little Paper Shop}. Kaisercraft rhinestones in the corners {of course!} and she was finally ready to go. You know I love my rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by -- have a great day!

Try It Out Tuesday #15 - Boys Can Bling!

Happy Tuesday! You may remember that over at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, Tuesday is the design team challenge day - Try It Out Tuesday {uploading keyword TIOT}. This week DT coordinator Suzanne Dean challenged us to Bling It! You know I am always up for a good bling challenge, so here is my contribution:

I used another one of my fabulous Anki's Sweethearts from SCACD. This is Isac with Skateboard. Isn't he adorable?! I have two boys so I loves me a good cute-but-still-boyish image! Don't forget that Susana has a great deal on these fun images - buy the "bundle" of all 10 together and you save $16.50. That's like getting 2.5 stamps for free -- and free is good!!

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him with Copics {of course!}. I went through and added some highlighting with the white gel pen after I had him all ready to go. The cardstock colors are More Mustard, Really Rust and Brocade Blue. Various papers from the Basic Grey scrap bin {thanks Heather!!!} to finish off the layers. I did the rounded panel with Nestabilities. Kaisercraft rhinestones along the side and viola! Plenty of bling but still made for a boy - the best of both worlds. I think one of my DS #1's friends will probably be getting this one as a birthday card, actually. ;-)

Thanks for stopping by today! Sale alerts for the store - all SMIRKS are still 50% off, and individual bottles of Flock are 25% off!! Don't forget to visit the SCACD store blog, Follow Your Heart, to see everyone's TIOT creations all in one spot! You can also visit the individual blogs by clicking the links on my left sidebar. Have a good one!

Sweet Little Julia

Don't you just love the weekend!? Today is our last day in Colorado, we will start heading for home at some point today and be home tomorrow {barring any freak spring snowstorms of course, LOL}. Do you miss me?! I miss all of you!! I know I had lots of auto-posts but haven't gotten to the blogs and PCP pages and comments and such. I will start catching up when we get home though!

Today I thought I would share this sweet little Julia card I made. The image is called Young Julia with Purse and it is an Anki's Sweethearts for SCACD image. You can only get her at Susana's store! I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her with Copics {big surprise there huh?}. It might sound kinda dumb, but getting Copic markers has brought back my love of coloring! I do like using watercolors still, and also pencils and Gamsol but the Copics are my favorite.

So, I colored her with the Copics and added some highlighting with the white gel pen. I colored a bunch of white flowers gray to go along with my color scheme and added Kaisercraft Pearls in Blush to the centers. I cut her out with Petite Oval Nestabilities and made the mats the same way. A little bit of ribbon, a metal embellishment tag from my stash and she's ready to go!

**There are two blog posts {two cards!!} today so make sure you catch both of them!!**

Try It Out Tuesday #14 - Sketchy Colors

Hello and welcome to Try it out Tuesday #14 from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! This week design team leader Suzanne Dean challenged us to make a card using a sketch challenge AND a color challenge! The sketch is above, and the colors are pink, chocolate and cream. Yummy!! Here is my creation:

I chose to use Alicia for my project, she was just calling to me with this color combination! I like the sketch Suzanne created a lot, it works well for the size of this adorable Anki's Sweethearts images. Did you know that there is a "bundle" of these images - where if you purchase all 10 together in the bundle you save $16.50?? That's like getting 2.5 stamps for free!! Don't you love free?

I stamped Alicia with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, colored her with Copic markers and added some highlights using the white gel pen {must have!}. I used Petite Oval Nestabilities to cut her out and create some mats for the main image {it's on dimensionals}. After she was all set in place on my card I went back over the "fuzzy" areas of her cape using a Quickie Glue pen and then added some white Doodlebug Crushed Velvet Flock. So she really has a fuzzy winter cape! I love it! Chocolate brads in the upper right corner finish it off!

You can see all the TIOT projects on the SCACD store blog, or on everyone's individual blogs {links on my left sidebar}. If you upload your projects, use the keyword TIOT so we can find them all!

Thanks for stopping by today! It is also Twinkling Tuesday, but I am not participating due to being on vacation! Check out the blogs of the other Twinklettes though, I'm sure they have some great projects to share with this week's sketch! Today's keyword for that challenge is MTTSC18.

Beautiful Emilia!

Yay, it's Saturday!! I have another card from the Anki's Sweethearts for SCACD stamp line to share with you today, this one is Emilia with Heart. Seriously! Do you not want to just cuddle her? She's just so sweet. I love the Anki stamps! Did you know that Anki's Sweethearts has its own PCP group? Come join us!

I stamped my Emilia with Heart image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with my Copics. I paper pieced the heart in the background with this pretty Basic Grey paper. I used the same pattern of designer paper on the top half of the card's background, snipping off the corners with the ticket corner punch so I could add some red Kaisercraft rhinestones. After I had everything assembled and added the polka dot ribbon, it didn't look "done" to me. I dug through my stash and pulled out some white paper flowers and tinted them to match the color scheme I had chosen for this card. Added some more rhinestones in the center -- THEN it looked done. :-)

Hope you have a wonderful day! Don't forget to head over to the SCACD store blog, Follow Your Heart, to see today's puzzle piece reveal for the big Elisabeth Bell blog candy!! There is still time to enter to win too so don't miss out!

Happy Easter! If you are traveling, be safe. I will see you on Monday!

Try It Out Tuesday #13 & MTTSC17 - Spring with Catherine

Spring is here for this week's Try it out Tuesday! Suzanne challenged us to create a Spring or Easter card. Well this Young Catherine with Friends from Anki's Sweethearts at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design and she just SCREAMS Spring to me with those new baby chicks. Lucky me, this week's Twinkling Tuesday Challenge was "In With The Old" - use a stamp you haven't used before. Since these Anki's are new to me it seemed like a good fit! {ok, I cheated a little; but I only used it once before because it was the first Anki I got and it was perfect for the other challenge today - so sue me}.

I also incorporated April's Sketch Challenge with a Twist, posted on the PCP page for SCACD. The sketch is there, and the twist was to include LOTS of embellishments. I didn't go TOO crazy but I can't turn away a good embellishment so this was a lot of fun. I stamped Catherine with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copic markers. I added some highlights with the white gel pen. I *love* the Copic marker blue jeans bundle - perfect jeans every time! Added some paper piercing and a few rhinestones and she's all set!

I hope you all decide to play along with this week's challengees, as well as the April sketch with a twist for SCACD. Your keyword for Twinkling Tuesday is MTTSC17 and the keyword for Try it out Tuesday is TIOT. Be sure to check out all the other amazing DT blogs for more inspiration - all the links are on my left sidebar. Happy Tuesday!

TECC61 - Catherine with Butterfly

Good morning! Aah the weekend is finally here! My DH told me last night that it is supposed to snow again later. I hate the cold and snow so I thought I would post this sweet Catherine with Butterfly card from Anki's Sweethearts for SCACD to put me in a spring kinda mood.

If you haven't checked out Susana's Store yet, you should. In addition to these oh-so-cute Anki's Sweethearts stamps, she's got other rubber, the NEW Nestabilities and Impressibilities, Copic bundles, Shimmerz, Glitter Dots (I love these), KaiserCraft embellies, and lots more. And she ships FAST. You know I am a customer first, and I was really happy with my orders from Susana.

For the layout of this card I used last week's TECC61 sketch. The image is colored with Copics. Patterned paper from Basic Grey's LilyKate. The yellow-green flower and the entire Cuttlebugged background panel are painted with Shimmerz, although I didn't get the shine in the photo, not enough light. The colors are Brocade Blue and Pink Poinsettia.

Thanks for stopping by today! Heather and I and possibly Jessica are going to ScrapMania tonight so wish us speedy stamping to get LOTS done!

It's April!

April is HERE!!! Why am I so excited about April? Well, I am joining the amazingly talented ladies over at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design as a Guest Designer for the month! I will be featuring the Anki's Sweethearts line, as well as a sampling from some of the other great stamp designs that Susana carries, three times a week for all of April. Woo hoo! To kick it off right here on April 1st, I have this card, featuring Alicia the Fairy. Isn't she DARLING?

I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored her with Copic markers, adding a few highlights with the white gel pen. I added a touch of Shimmerz to her wings, although you will probably have to take my word for it since my stamping cave doesn't have the best sparkle-catching light for photos. The colors are Certainly Celery, Regal Rose and White. The patterned paper is all from Die Cuts with a View.

Susana has some really great bundles for Copics, put together by coloring goddess Suzanne Dean {we're not worthy!}. She also carrys the Memento ink pads, which is the only thing to use with Copics and as we all know can be really hard to find. She has the BROWN too. I have been looking for that one for weeks so I know what I'm doing later! Oh, and did I mention that the brand new Nestabilities and Impressabilities are in stock now? No foolin'!!

Thanks for stopping by today, hope it's a good one for you!

Susana's Custom Art & Card Design

Hello! Wow, today's post is pretty late, we've been out all day! Whoever coined the term "stay at home mom" didn't live here, let me tell ya!

Today I wanted to share some really fabulous news I received late last week. Awhile back I applied for the Guest Designer spot for the Anki's Sweethearts line of stamps over at Susana's Custom Art & Card Design. You may remember several weeks ago I posted my first card with these darlings, I just love them all! Well Susana contacted me and asked me to be one of the Guest Designers for April! Woo hoo! I will be working with the Anki's Sweethearts images as well as a few others from Susana's store - and she carries some really great stuff! Head over and check it out - even if it is just to browse! I know you'll be hooked, just like I was.

So be on the lookout for LOTS more adorable kid cards {and more!} in April! To kick off this big news right, I have a card to share using Felicia and Crabby, which was made to play along with the March Sketch Challenge with a Twist over on the SCACD Papercraft Planet page. Here's the card:

Here is the sketch, for reference, and the "twist" is the inspiration piece, below. Wouldn't you LOVE to be there on the beach right now?? I used the inspiration piece in the image I chose, as well as the beach-striped, weathered-wood patterned paper and the colors. There is still time to play along - upload your projects to PCP with the keyword "scacd" by March 31st!! A stamp of your choice up for grabs to the winner so get stamping!

See you tomorrow!

LLPC016 and MORE Blog Candy!

Hello and Happy Saturday!! I hope your weekend is off to a good start! I know mine is (finally, an end to this yucky week, and it's finally looking up!). I got to stamp last night and I made TWO cards, and this is one of them! I wanted to play along with the current Limelight Papercrafts Sketch Challenge - keyword LLPC016. Here's the sketch:The product focus for this challenge (in case you couldn't guess from the sketch) is RIC RACK! Mandy has some cool 1.5" ric rack in the store, that is a WIDE load, LOL. Looks like a lot of fun to play with though. She is giving some away as a prize for this challenge, so you have through tomorrow night to play along for your chance to win! You can see her blog post with all the details here.

My image is another of my new Anki's Sweethearts from SCACD. Really having fun with these little cuties, and they are so much fun to color! I colored with a combination of Prismacolor pencils w/ Gamsol and Copic markers. That Easter background paper is actually iridescent, although the photo didn't really pick it up. SO cute!

Ok, I know you've only read this far to get the blog candy I promised in the title. *g* Mandy has generously donated a package of Pebbles, Inc. ribbon for me to give away! I have chosen Olive Green, there are five yards in the package, one yard each of five different styles. If you'd like to add this goodie to YOUR ribbon stash, leave me a comment on this post by the end of the night Wednesday, March 11th. I will draw a winner on Thursday morning, March 12th. Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Anki's Sweethearts - Catherine with Butterfly

TGIF, huh?? Today I wanted to share a card I made last week for the Viva la Verve February challenge over in the Verve Splitcoast Forum. I had just gotten this FABULOUS image from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design and I was DYING to get it inky. The image is from a new, exclusive line called "Anki's Sweethearts" and can only be purchased from SCACD. They were designed by Anki Bargman - I think they are just the sweetest!! This one is called Catherine with Butterfly. Who can resist an image that has "with butterfly" in the name??

I used this VLVFeb02 sketch with a twist for this project. The twist was to NOT use patterned paper {which is a shame because I had some all picked out!!}. Here is the sketch:

So, as you can see, no patterned paper. I did run the Groovy Guava and both the Ridinghood Red panels through my Cuttlebug though, to give it a little something for definition. The Guava cardstock DOES match the pinkish-coral color I used on her dress, even though it doesn't look like it in the photo. :) I colored her with my Copics, added the double-layer of ribbon and some self-adhesive pearls per the sketch. The horizontal layer is on dimensionals and so is Catherine.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a great day and a good kickoff for the weekend! Don't forget to enter my blog candy, HERE, I will draw the THREE winners after midnight on Sunday. See you tomorrow! I might even have another giveaway then, so check back and see. ;)
