Alice Gets Sketchy

Hello out there in blogland! I hope everyone is having a great start to their Memorial Day weekend. I got some stampin' time so you KNOW I am!

Today the {Little Paper Shop} is sponsering not one but TWO challenge blogs! How fun!! Sponsership means PRIZES for you, so I hope you can find some time to play along this week. What can you win?? Well, you can win a gift certificate to the LPS store from EACH of the challenges (winner is drawn at random). Nice!! So, what are you waiting for?

The first challenge blog is the Oh, Alice! challenge blog that LPS design team alumni Jessica Diedrich started up a few months ago. Their challenge {OAC15} is to use SWIRLS on your card. Love swirls!!

The second challenge is a new sketch from Card Patterns {#66}! I think everyone has heard before how sketches are my most faaaaaaaavorite type of challenge!! Here it is {as you can see, I flipped it for my project today}:

Well, fittingly, I used our {Little Paper Shop} Alice digi for my card. Colored her with Copic markers, paired up with some SU patterned paper, American Crafts buttons, ribbon from the stash (I think it's May Arts) and a swirl from Zva Creative.

Be sure to check out the challenge blogs directly for more information, and more inspiration from their design teams. Some of the other girls from the LPS team are playing along too, so swing by and see what they've come up with! Don't forget to link up your creations per the blog owners' instructions for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to the LPS store (at EACH challenge!).

I'm taking tomorrow off from the blog, so I'll see you back here Monday for more fun with the {Little Paper Shop}!

TIOT69 - Book-Marked

Happy Thursday to all of my stampin' friends!! As you may have noticed there has been some shake up on our Try It Out Tuesday weekly Design Team Feature and Challenge from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. We've split to two groups, Tuesday and Thursday, so it's not so overwhelming on one day. So today we have another fun Try It Out challenge from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design to jump start your creativity with the Thursday group! This week's challenge {TIOT69} is to create a TAG. You can read more about the challenges and how things are being run on the SCACD store blog.

Well of course I chose to use one of the latest and most gorgeous addition to
Susana's amazing collection of EXCLUSIVE images, Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Sampler #4 Collection!! This is You Have Mail.

My "tag" is a bookmark, I always need these anyway so I don't dogear my pages and this was a perfect opportunity to make one that EVERYONE will envy! Aside from the computer that is just totally me when I'm reading; jammys, slippers, comfy as can be and totally absorbed. Love her! She's stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics. The oval behind her is a Classic Oval Nestabilities shape. Pretty straightforward layout, not as much room to play with tags, and this is meant to be a working bookmark, so I kept it simple.

One last announcement, the SCACD May release SUMMERTIME FUN by Victoria Case is coming soon! Be sure to check out the store blog for a chance at some awesome blog candy, TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO SIGN UP!!!

Have a great day, I will see you back here in the morning for the big release BLOG HOP!

Prettie Wednesday!

It's Wednesday! That means it is time for another fun Wednesday Prettie Challenge and blog hop! This week our challenge comes from Prettie Girl Wendy! Wendy challenged everyone to make a something for a teacher {PWC105}.

Honestly, I'm not really a "gift" kinda person. I just struggle so much with making 3D items and worry so much about how they will be received. So I made a card, and in a couple weeks when school is out my DS and I will bake cookies and give cards, cookies and Starbucks gift cards to the teachers. I think that's a pretty good gift! And this card is a perfect compliment to that gift set. :)

This week the design team will be using either the set Right on Par or Coffee Cool. These are both such fun sets and both stamp sets featured this week will be on sale for 35% off all week!!Also be sure to check out the new digi stamp section of the boutique, Christie is adding new digis all the time (there are several adorable Sophia and Cooper digi stamps)!

I used a color challenge today, love it! ColourQ {CQC34}:

I also incorporated a sketch, this is the latest from Taylored Expressions {TESC114}. Fun times! You may recognize it from Monday's card -- that's how much I liked it!!

Hope you have a great day! Be sure to visit the Prettie Boutique and the other DT members to see all the inspiration with this week's fabulous challenge!

One other quick announcement, the SCACD May release SUMMERTIME FUN by Victoria Case is coming soon! Be sure to check out the store blog for a chance at some awesome blog candy, now through Thursday!

LPS Monday - Scrap It!

I hope you all had a great weekend! I finally have a chance to post my {Little Paper Shop} Monday challenge project for this week! This week {LPSC68} Allison challenged everyone to scrap a page. We'd love for you to play along. If you do, be sure to leave a link to your project on the LPS blog. One lucky participant in this week's challenge will win the digi stamp {Jena and Hank}. You have until Sunday night to get your project linked on the LPS blog!

For my page I used {Rose} and {Behind the Scenes}.

I'm really not a scrapper, I would like to be, but I'm kinda at a loss for it. I need to dedicate more time to it I think, and things will go better for me, LOL!! But for more inspiration be sure to check out the blogs of the rest of the fabulous Little Paper Shop design team!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a terrific week!

Also be sure to check out the new digi stamp section of the boutique, Christie is adding new digis all the time (there are several adorable Sophia and Cooper digi stamps)!

I must have written down the wrong sets because I have the right color challenge, but I thought that we were supposed to use Home Sweet Home this week, which is a set that I LOVE!! I incorporated some challenges for today - surprise surprise! The colors come from the current one over at the ColourQ {CQC31}; I know my green is a little too green to be celery but this paper was perfect in every other way, so we're fudging it just a bit. Here is the swatch:

But I digress! It is preview time, and you may notice that previews are starting on Saturday again - so we're releasing 3 sets this month! Here's my project for today, featuring a preview of {bumble Bee Jena}. What a sweet bee!! And if you know me, you know that's saying a LOT because I am absolutely 100% terrified of bees. If you swing by and leave a comment on ALL the design team member's blogs today (links can be found on my sidebar or on the LPS store blog) and you'll have a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the store! TIOT66 - Olde Tyme Cards

Happy Tuesday stampin' friends!! Today we have another fun Try It Out Tuesday challenge from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design to jump start your creativity! This week's challenge {TIOT66} is Olde Tyme - make a card that uses ONLY sepia tones or ONLY shades of grey (as in an olde tyme photo)! Ooh, tricky today Suzanne!

Well of course I chose to use one of the latest and most gorgeous addition to Susana's amazing collection of EXCLUSIVE images, Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Sampler #4 Collection!! This is All Grown Up. Isn't she though?? I confess, she's my second favorite from this release.

I stamped her with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on PTI white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. Before I did the background I cut her out with Classic Rectangle Nestabilities and then went over the whole background with my E50 Copic marker to look like a faded photo background with a white border around it. Scuffed up the edges with the distressing tool as well, just a TINY bit.

The picture shows it just a little bit, but I painted over the pearls on the necklace using Smooch Illuminate Pearlized Top Coat ink to give some sparkle. This is a GREAT product, it gives a clear-finish dazzle to anything you add it to, without changing the color (other than to add the iridescent sparkle). Perfect for today with that tonal look! I used a paint chip (love that Home Depot!) as one of my background pieces and kept with the sepia color palette with the papers as well. Why did I use a paint chip? Well because when I saw this week's sketch on the Mojo Monday blog {MOJO137} it jumped right out at me! Here's the sketch:

Thanks for stopping by today! I will see you tomorrow. Have a good one!

LPSC66 - Gettin' Sketchy

It's MONDAY!! Yay!! I love starting my week with a great challenge from the {Little Paper Shop}! Did you happen to see the LPS store blog on Friday? We are featuring the FABULOUS {Make a Wish} set with some great samples from the DT and LPS friends. Stop over and see all the lovely creations!

But now, on to today's challenge {your uploading keyword is LPSC66}. We have a fantastic sketch challenge for you today, you know how much I love those sketches! First off, here is my card, using the newly released {Little Lady Katie}. She's cute as a BUG!!

And here's the sketch! A great one drawn by our store owner extraordinaire & new mommy, Julia!

Details are pretty standard. Colored with Copic markers, paper from Stampin' Up!, flowers from Prima. I did her entire dress with black Art Institute Glitter for some serious glitz!

Be sure to visit the LPS store blog and the other DT members to see all the inspiration with this week's fabulous challenge! AND, if you play along with us you'll be entered to win this week's prize -- stamps from the {Little Paper Shop}!! Check out the details on THIS POST this morning - you have until Sunday night to enter by linking up on this week's post on the LPS store blog and the winner will be announced there next Monday morning. Can't beat free stamps AND an excuse to use them!

Happy Release Day Birthday Christie!

It's here! Paper Pretties release day!! All those new pretties you've had your eye on from our week of peeks are available now at the Prettie Boutique!

Know what else? It's Christie's birthday! So we've combined our release day cards with Christie's birthday hop for extra fun! Here is mine, featuring the Bubbles Everywhere sentiment, along with the previously released Bubble Time Sophia.

Doesn't she look like she's having a GOOD time?? I want that to be me! This is Christie's birthday card, I hope she enjoys it when it arrives to her (if it hasn't already!). Thanks for being such a great store owner and DT Mama Christie! Happy birthday!

For today's card I added in the SPARKLE challenge (#3) from Crafts and Me Challenges. It's a little hard to see because I didn't like the way the photo that used the flash turned out (if you click for the BIGGIE-SIZED photo you can see it) but the soap bottles and all of the bubbles on the main image and the sentiment are sparkly and I used an iridescent shimmer paper for the green border-punched piece. Yum! Love that sparkle.

A few card notes - hard to see in the pic but I painted over all the bubbles using
Smooch Illuminate Pearlized Top Coat ink to give some great sparkle. This is a GREAT product, it gives a clear-finish dazzle to anything you add it to, without changing the color (other than to add the iridescent sparkle). It comes with its own little applicator right in the bottle, no searching for a paint brush!! Yayyyy! I also painted the soap bottles with Kiwi Smooch ink. There is Rasberry Fizz Ultra-Fine Flower Soft on the rug.

Ok, that's it for me, head over to
Christie's Blog now and leave her some birthday love! And don't forget to sneak over to the Prettie Boutique and get your new release images -- rubber and digis!
