Spring Guinea Pigs

Wow, Sunday already! The weekend flew by! I hope yours was good. :)

Today I wanted to share this card using images from JessicaLynnOriginal - Guinea Pigs in Love. Aren't they cute?? I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black, and colored with Copic markers. When that was done I went back and did some highlighting with the with the white gel pen. The patterned paper was in my stash from one of the recent Basic Grey releases, and I ran the green panel through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. The main image and the sentiment are on dimensionals. A little ribbon at the top and they're all set!

Thanks for stopping by today! See you tomorrow for LPS Monday!

The Rain Never Looked This Good!

TGIF!! It's been raining here on and off for days now and I am looking for the sun! So last night I was inspired to pull out this Singing in the Rain cutie from the new Hearts and Hugs collection by Victoria Case for SCACD.

I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black, and colored with Copic markers. When she was done I went back and did some highlighting with the with the white gel pen. The patterned paper was in my stash and I ran the yellow panel through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. The main image is up on dimensionals. Put my favorite Kaisercraft Pearls on the bottom and she was all set!

Don't forget that the Stampin' out Alzheimer's challenges are going on now and there are some fabulous prizes to be won, including a full set of these Victoria Case for SCACD stamps {plus other goodies too!} from Susana's store. {Little Paper Shop} is also hosting a challenge with a fabulous prize, along with lots of other great papercrafting and stamp companies. TIOT19, MTTSC24, JBE055 - Alexa!

I love Tuesdays! Always a multiple challenge day, which is fun fun fun! Today I have a double challenge card to share with you. I love it when a plan comes together!

First challenge -- for Try it out Tuesday this week over on the SCACD store blog, DT leader Suzanne Dean challenged us to WATERCOLOR. Wow, I haven't busted out the watercoloring supplies in an AGE {can't you tell??}! For this project I reached for one of the newest girls in my life, Alexa from the new Hearts and Hugs collection by Victoria Case for SCACD. These little sweeties are SO adorable and just a joy to color. Susana has an amazing deal on these images, if you buy the set of all 9 stamps you save almost 25% off the retail price of the individual images. Gotta love a savings and really, you need all the stamps anyway. SO CUTE!

I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black onto watercolor paper, then colored with watercolor crayons and an aquapainter. Added some touches with the with the white gel pen of course. One of my favorite tools! I made the background clouds with a cloud template and sponged ink. The card layout today comes from the Twinkling Tuesday sketch {keyword: MTTSC24}. Here's the original sketch:
Isn't this a good one?? Very versatile. I liked all the layers here and of course I had to use some patterned paper and Cuttlebugged backgrounds to really show off that little Alexa!

The Jacksonbelle Embellishments challenge this week is POLKA DOTS {JBE055}. I think my polka dot paper qualifies! Polka dots are too much fun!

Don't forget that the Stampin' out Alzheimer's challenges are going on now and there are some fabulous prizes to be won, including a full set of these Victoria Case for SCACD stamps {plus other goodies too!} from Susana's store. Click the widget on my right sidebar to get started!

Catherine Dreams Big!

Welcome to the weekend!!! Last night I got some time to play with my Anki's Sweethearts for SCACD stamps - another exclusive line that Susana has nabbed. They were my first love from her store and I have never looked back! This image is called Catherine the Vet. That puppy - oh, the cuteness!!

I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black, and colored with Copic markers. Have you checked out the blue jeans bundle of Copic markers that coloring goddess Suzanne Dean has put together for SCACD? Perfect jeans every time - no thinking required!!! Suzanne has some tutorial videos up on her blog as well, so get the markers then follow her easy video! Of course I always need to go back and do some highlighting with the with the white gel pen - really make it pop!

After I colored and matted the image I found some matching background paper, added some layered ribbon to add dimension to the background, and then stamped the "Dream Big" Susanament onto an acrylic clear tag and added it to the card. The Susanaments were created to go along with the images in the new Victoria Case for SCACD collection, but they are SO versatile and the wordings are just so sweet, you can use them with any image!

Thanks for stopping by today! I will see you back here tomorrow with the first preview for the upcoming {Little Paper Shop} May release!

JLO News!

JessicaLynn presents.....new stamps!!!

Brentwood – The owl that time forgot.

This month Brentwood has gone prehistoric. When they were in 1st grade Brentwood and his friends took a trip to the museum to check out the Cro-Magnon Owl exhibit. They were showcasing some specimens dated approximately 40,000 to 10,000 years ago. Brentwood learned a lot about the dinosaurs that walked the earth. He wished that he and his friends could have been around during those times to make friends with those large creatures.

They will be launching TONIGHT so stop by the chatroom to say HI to Jessica Lynn and the rest of the Design Team. Then head over to the store and get your Brentwood fix!!! Hope to see you tonight! No password required, just enter your user name & click connect!

Try It Out Tuesday #19 - Forever Flowers

Happy Tuesday! Busy challenge day around here so I'd better get to it! For this week's Try it out Tuesda #19 over at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design and the store blog, Follow Your Heart, our challenge was May Flowers - flower up those projects until they are almost to the point of pollen overload!! That's a challenge I can get behind! I used this adorable new image from Victoria Case for SCACD called Forever Friends. Don't these two cuties look like they are having fun?!? Click the photo for the extra-extra large sized view!

For a little "extra" today, I combined the TIOT with our Twinkling Tuesday date! This week is a sketch so it worked out well for me! Here's the sketch:

So you can see where some of the elements on this card come from!

I stamped my image in Memento Tuxedo Black, and colored with Copic markers. I hand drew the background line and sponged green underneath and added clouds above using my cloud template. Instead of just coloring in the individual flowers all around these two, I went through and added some glue and shook on some Spring Mix Flower Soft. I think it looks more like a bloom of wildflowers surrounding their little party!

I colored a second butterfly wing and cut it out, then added it over the top of the main image using dimensionals. I cut the panel using Labels 4 Nestabilities and mounted it on a Petite Oval. I ran the red piece through the Cuttlebug with Swiss Dots for some more texture and cut the edge with a scalloped border punch. Snipped off the corners and added some Kaisercraft Rhinestones. The colors I used are Summer Sun, Riding Hood Red and Wild Wasabi. I pulled the color palette for the image from the Flower Soft mixture.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you play along with our challenges for today! Be sure to visit all of the other design team members, their links are in my left sidebar, and also the SCACD store blog to see all the TIOT projects in one place! The Victoria Case stamps are now available in the SCACD store, in fact I just ordered a couple myself last night! Head over and get some for yourself, they are TOO cute!! Susana has the best customer service and she ships SO fast - as always I was a customer before I was ever working for her so I know what I'm talking about, heehee!

LPS Monday!

Happy Monday! I am running late today, so just a quick post. Here's a card from the {Little Paper Shop}! We don't have a Monday challenge this week, the DT challenge from Friday is still active and that is our challenge this week!! We want to see your 3D/gift items, how fun is that??? If you play along, link up over on the LPS blog by Sunday, May 24th to be eligible for the prize. If you upload to SCS or PCP, be sure to use keyword LPSC16. ONE lucky winner will be drawn at random from all participants to receive TWO free digital images! More details on the LPS blog.

This image is a digi called {Katie Mushroom}. I added more mushrooms and the owl from the {Forest Critters} set to make more of a "scene". Added some amethyst clouds with my cloud template and hand-drew the grass.

Thanks for stopping by today!! Don't forget to link up your 3D item on the LPS blog!

LPS - May DT Challenge

May 15th already!!!??? Well technically May 16th now as I am a day late, but I do have a work excuse signed by Miss Jessica so I'm safe! You may remember - the 15th of the month means that it is time for another {Little Paper Shop} design team challenge! This month Silvia challenged us to create a 3D item. I'm SO not good at these types of things, but luckily I did manage to pull together this little coaster frame without permanent injury to myself or others, heehee!

I used stamps from the {Butterflies and Blossoms} and {A Dream} sets to create this, along with some blingy gems and super shiny glitter. Would you like to hear one of the BESTEST things about clear stamps?? you can wiggle them around and transform them out of their original shape very easily and they will still stamp perfectly! {For example, the stem of the flower in my little frame here}. You can also use a marker to "ink up" certain parts of an image or sentiment, stamp it, clean the stamp and repeat the process with another part of the image. I used both of these little tricks on today's project! Stamps from {Little Paper Shop} are very high quality clear stamps - perfect image every time!

The right side of this desk frame is blank for a photo of one of the kiddos to go in there but I didn't have any I could find so I guess it's time to print pictures again! In the meantime you can visualize a little blonde cutie in there if you'd like!

You want to play along? I love when you play along! You'll have some extra time on this one too, so create away and then link your creation to the LPS blog by Sunday, May 24th. If you upload to SCS or PCP, be sure to use keyword LPSC16. ONE lucky winner will be drawn at random from all participants to receive TWO free digital images! More details on the LPS blog. Be sure to visit the rest of the DT and check out all the great 3D item ideas they had!

TIOT18, MTTSC21 - Kyra and Candy

Happy Tuesday! I have another double challenge card today, and YES, I know Mother's Day is past! This is one I made for Mother's Day though, so I wanted to share it even if it's not right on time.
This week's Try It Out Tuesday Challenge #18, issued by Suzanne Dean, DT coordinator for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, is to create a SHAPED card. Any shape, as long as it's not a square/rectangle. I had to put my thinking cap on with this one, and I decided to use one of the Pointed petal flower card templates from Mirkwood Designs. You can see all the SCACD DT projects on the SCACD store blog, or in the individual links in my left sidebar.

This little sweetie is another Faerie Song Art Stamps image, called Kyra. I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black, and colored with Copic markers. After she was ready I cut her out {a lot of cutting on this one!} and added her to the precut Nestabilities circle using dimensionals. I doodled the outside edge of the circle for more definition.

DON'T FORGET!!!! There are some new stamps coming to town and YOU could win!! This new line is called Victoria Case for SCACD and this release is called The Hearts and Hugs Collection. Each day this week Victoria and Susana will reveal a puzzle piece of one of the upcoming images - check it out!! The SCACD store blog and Victoria's blog will have candy this week consisting of an entire set of the new release -- so two chances to win! The SCACD candy runs through Thursday evening with the winner announced on Friday morning when the new stamps are revealed and be sure to be back to Susana's on Friday for the big release party.

The colors for this card come from our Twinkling Tuesday challenge {MTTSC22}. This week's temporary twinkie is Kimmie's son Nicky, who chose blue, purple and orange as our color combination for the week. I chose to use Almost Amethyst, Bashful Blue and Apricot Appeal as my orange. Be sure to check out the rest of the Twinklettes today for more color inspiration {links in my left sidebar}!

JessicaLynnOriginal - Wedding Wishes

Welcome to the weekend! Hope everyone had a good week!

Today's card features one of my favorite sets from JessicaLynnOriginal called True Love & Wedding Words. I wanted to make this card a little different, so I used my Oval Nestabilities to cut the card base in the largest size. I cut the patterned paper mat and the sentiment and mat and then embellished with ribbon, rhinestones and flowers. I love my Kaisercraft Rhinestones - Susana has a great price on these in her store so check out the selection! The leaves were cut with the new Sizzix die from Stampin' Up! and that's pretty much all there is to this one. Fast, fun and easy!

Have a great weekend and a Happy early Mother's Day - I'll see you tomorrow!

TIOT17, MTTSC21 - Gift for Mother

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Can you believe my son told me yesterday in the car on the way home from preschool {he's 4} -- "Mommy tomorrow is a special day and it's Cinco de Mayo, which is May. If you take the "o" off then it's not Spanish anymore, it's English and you just say "May". I need a video camera running on him 24/7!

Onward...a busy blog post for you today - covering two challenges! The sketch for Twinkling Tuesday {MTTSC21} and the Try It Out Tuesday from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. Sorry my photo got a little dark, too much to fit in and not quite enough light to shine on everything!

The sketch is for the card part of this giftie, of course, and the theme for this week's TIOT {TIOT17} is a card and gift set for Mother's Day! Great challenges! You can see my card and bath-themed gift set above, featuring Babs from Rubber Romance, available at SCACD. Here is a closeup of the gift box. These adorable tubes contain bath beads and bath confetti, and the other container has bath salts. I happened to buy these somewhere ages pre-filled, but if you can't find them, Susana has you covered and you can fill them yourself with anything you want (instead of trying to match them to the patterned paper like I did)!! I like that idea way better, plus you don't have to cover the labels either. The tubes come in two sizes - 4" and 6" lengths. I got the fabulous tutorial for this box from Holly McMillian, found here.

I have to mention this - has anyone tried using the Scor-Tape in place of the super-sticky red line tape we all know and love? I used it on this project and I want to say this clearly - I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO RED LINE TAPE!!! The Scor-Tape is amazingly cheap, just as sticky as the other stuff and BEST of ALL, you can tear it! No more annoyingness with the scissors every time you need another little piece of the red stuff. Whatever size you need, just tear it right off, it's not even HARD to tear. It comes in a humongous roll and you can make boxes and bags and all kinds of things to your heart's content. I had never used it before and today I thought I would try it on this project and *swoon*! So get yourself some and experience the difference!

Ok, and here is the sketch, and a full view of the card, with Babs is enjoying her soak and {most likely} her time alone!! I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black, and colored with Copic markers. Always need to go back and do some highlighting with the with the white gel pen of course. I then went over the bubbles with my Quickie Glue Pen and covered them with some white/iridescent Doodlebug Sugarcoating Glitter so they are sparkly and FUN. Since I used a larger main image, instead of a second paper layer under the main panel, I used layered ribbon that coordinated with this delicious Basic Grey Wisteria paper {hugs to Heather for that!}.

Be sure to visit the SCACD store blog, Follow Your Heart, today is the last day to enter to win the $25 gift certificate blog candy. That is a great prize!! You can also see everyone's TIOT projects there this morning, or visit their individual blogs {links on my left sidebar}. The TT girls need some love too, their links are over there as well. Thanks for stopping by - hope you have a great day!

LPSC14 - Flowers for Julia!

April showers bring May flowers, right? That's what I think! So this week's LPS Monday challenge is to simply use any LPS stamp set (if you have one, if not, any stamp will do) and incorporate FLOWERS on your card! So celebrate spring with this fresh-cut floral challenge!

Oh, and speaking of flowers and spring celebrations, did you know that it is Julia's BIRTHDAY!?! Julia is the owner of the {Little Paper Shop} and the fabulous designer behind the images we all love so much! We can't let this one go by without a big scene! So the LPS DT is having a birthday blog hop in her honor and positively SHOWERING her with FLOWERS!

If you're just starting the blog hop, you can head over to Jessica's blog to start from the beginning. If you're hoppin' right along coming here from Taylor's blog, then your next stop is the amazingly talented Cindy Haffner!

I almost forgot -- would you like to be a part of our birthday extravaganza? We'd love to have you! Just play along with our flower challenge, and as YOUR gift, one lucky challenge participant will be chosen at random to win a FREE digital image from the {Little Paper Shop}! Just leave a comment on today's LPS Blog post with a link telling us you've played along and you'll be entered to win! When you upload your creation to SCS or PCP, be sure to use keyword LPSC14 so we can find ya.

Thanks for stopping by to smell the flowers today! Hop on over to visit Cindy and I'll see you tomorrow!

PCS Has Arrived @ SCACD!

Helloooooo stampers! Are you having a good weekend??! It's a wonderful one here, the weather is AMAZING, we've spent most of it outside with the kiddies. I did have a few minutes to sneak into my stamp room though, and I made this card using the adorable Lily & Tweet stamp set from Pink Cat Studio - now available at Susana's Custom Art & Card Design! Yep, in addition to all the other fantabulous stampin' goodies, Susana is now carrying PCS. One of my favorites so I was thrilled to hear that news!

I pulled the colors from the new Basic Grey Wisteria for this one. I interpreted them as River Rock, Elegant Eggplant and Sage Shadow. After stamping Miss Lily in Memento Tuxedo Black, I colored her and Tweet with Copic markers. Always need to go back and do some highlighting with the with the white gel pen, one of the best tools around for use in coloring, IMHO. I cut them out using Classic Circle Nestabilities.

I used some Sizzix dies to make the leaves and swirls for behind the main image, but when I was done it looked too naked, so I went back and added the sentiment circle (also cut with the circle nesties). Both circles are up on dimensionals. I went over Lily's shoes and sunglasses and Tweet's purse with a Quickie Glue Pen (the bestest for adding powders!!) and covered with some white/iridescent Doodlebug Sugarcoating Glitter for extra snap. Kaisercraft Pearls in Snow up in the corner to finish it off. Glitz and glamour to the MAX!! Click the picture to see the *ahem* super-sized version.

Thanks for stopping by today! See you tomorrow for LPS Monday.

Meet Bunnie, SCACD News and Blog Candy!

TGIF! I have some great news - Susana from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design asked me to stay on with her as a guest designer for another month - of course I was thrilled to accept! Also coming on this month as a guest designer is Judy Laing - she is just amazing, so stop by to check out her blog if you have a chance!

In honor of Friday, and me another month with Susana, may I present
BUNNIE! She's a Rubber Romance Diva and she is one of my favorites. I showed her to my DH and he said "she looks just like you in the mornings!". hahahaha. I guess that's why she's one of my favorites huh? I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. The patterned paper is from the new Basic Grey Lime Rickey {I love my Heather who snagged this for me!} and the big brads are from SU. The colors are Orchid Opulence and Green Galore - I know, it's not a common color combo but I like how they work on this card. For the Belli Challenge this week we were to use jumbo brads or eyelets, so here is mine! {CBC64}. Better late than never, right?! :)

Don't forget that Susana has told us that more BIG FUN is coming over on the
SCACD PCP group so make sure you stop by there, join our bunch and check on the FUN! Last thing, this is the BIGGEST - to celebrate the store blog having over 10,000 hits, Susana is having some BLOG CANDY!! A $25 gift certificate to Susana's store to spend on some new goodies is up for grabs! Head over to Follow Your Heart and enter yourself to win! Then head over to the SCACD store and see what YOU would buy if you won. :-) New Lockharts are in stock now along with the Bella Crystal Flowers and this new Sparkly Stuff that I just can't wait to try!

Have a great day!
