Creative Knockouts #172: Winter Wonderland!

Good morning stampers! Today I'm sharing my project for the challenge over at Creative Knockouts where the theme is....Winter Wonderland

This week's sponsor is Imagine That - Digis by Kris, and they are offering a wonderful prize to a lucky player!

Here is my project, featuring the super adorable set Tree With Presents. One of my FAVORITE things about Imagine That digis is that they come with both colored and outline versions in the bundle, and typically contain several images along with coordinating sentiments. SERIOUSLY. They are a great deal and very versatile!

Today I used the pre-colored version of this image. It's SO well done you can even see that the garland and ribbon are "sparkly"! I didn't add glitter - that's how it looks digitally colored from the shop. I love it. I had this wild & crazy vision when I saw this image. I hope I was able to fully bring it to life. That's the night sky with stars twinkling away in the background, and our lovely tree is in someone's beautiful snowy yard, and SANTA has just arrived and dropped off all the goodies! ;)

I sponged Summer Sun craft ink on the background to create the glowing halo effect. The "stars" were created after I did the dry embossed background by mixing white ink and some water into a mini mister and spraying several times. The snowy hills are a MFT die, and I added Diamond stickles to the edges for extra sparkle. The sentiment comes with the set in the Imagine That shop, I used a Paper Smooches die to cut it out as a flag and had it hang off the edge for fun. The image was color printed, fussy-cut and put onto the finished background with foam tape.

Bugaboo's Holiday Chaos - Day 7 Challenge!

Onward! Post #4 and my LAST POST because that makes 7 completed projects for this awesome, AWESOME Chaotic Party Train! Thanks Bugaboo for all the inspiration and the PUSH to get stamping!

Presenting: my project for TODAY, Day 7, which is BINGO

And here is the Bingo board:

My Bingo is vertical on the right-hand column...Glitter/Bling (plenty!), Snowflakes, and Non-Traditional Holiday Colors.

The details here - pretty easy, actually. Of course took awhile for me to be happy with all the sizes/layout/extra blings, but still. Really fun to create. And get this...No coloring! WHAT?!

The one tiny sentiment is an old SU set that I really like for discreet Christmas/Winter greetings on cards where the image is the focal point. I made some of the paper I punched the circles from using Brushos paint powders in one of my first experiments using them. Used a bunch of different circle punches that I hung on to (I knew there was a reason!). Felt snowflakes are from Hero Arts and Stampin' Up!. Sequins are from Michael's Stash. Patterned paper from the Angel Company. Glitter balls from Fun Stampers Journey.

THANK YOU BUGABOO!! Shout out to the awesome DT for all that creating, AND leaving so many fabulous comments for all the players. *hugs*

Bugaboo's Holiday Chaos - Day 6 Challenge!

Onward! Post #3...

Presenting: my project for Day 6, which was "flash back" - use an OLD image and OLD paper. Well, I printed this image (along with dozens of others) to use for LAST YEAR'S Holiday Chaos party, and it was still sitting in the pile of "printed digis" I am apparently collecting in the corner basket of my stamping counter. So I dusted it off, and here we are! I bought this paper (I'm pretty sure) when we still lived in Cottage Grove, so that makes it 4+ years old as well). Time to get going using it up!

Colored with Copics. Stamp is Bugaboo. Die from Gina Marie Designs. Glitter ball from The Paper Studio. Ribbon also OLD from stash. Cardstock is Stampin' Up!'s u/s Vanilla, and for reference I was a SU demo for the last time in 2002...

Bugaboo's Holiday Chaos - Day 5 Challenge!

Happy Friday afternoon everyone! Here's post #2 in the 4 pm blogging train...

Presenting: my project for Day 5, which was to create a funny card. Well, no one in the Bugaboo family is funnier than Stella!!! So here she is with one of my personal favorite sentiments ;)

Colored with Copics. Dies from Gina Marie Designs and Fun Stamper's Journey. Sequins from Michael's stash. Paper is KaiserCraft. Lots of foam tape for dimensional fun!

Bugaboo's Holiday Chaos - Day 3 Challenge!

Happy Friday afternoon everyone! I have a whole bunch of posts to get up on the blog here, as I spent some AWESOME stamping time today finishing up the challenges for Bugaboo's Holiday Chaos week-long challenge over on the Catch The Bug Blog.

Here is my project for Day 3, which was to create a gift tag with red & white stripes. Light bulb moment....CANDY CANES! I just had to :)

That's it for this post, if you haven't checked out the challenges, the links are in the text above and there's still time for you to play - even if you get in one day....WHY NOT?! I always love these challenges, Bugaboo has so many awesome images! Most of my projects this year used them, but I had a few deviations with some other ideas I wanted to try. Yay for having some holiday crafting mojo! Last year I played along in all 7 days, and I finished this year too! I'm so excited.

This week's sponsor is Lacy Sunshine, and they are offering a wonderful prize to a lucky player!

Here is my project, featuring the beautiful Winter Winds Ethereal Enchantress. She is colored up with PRISMACOLOR pencils. I was *very* concerned about trying these, I need a lot more practice with pencils, but I was in the mood for a risk! ;)

Can we please agree that NOTHING is more Festive than a WHOLE LOTTA BLING?? Well it's my blog, so I'm declaring it one way or the other. We've got glitter on all the "fur" parts of her coat, as well as the drippings of the icicles. Also a shimmers spritz spray on the outer border of the card.

My second project for our Anything Goes Facebook Challenge this month features this BEAUTIFUL image...Sally's Stars #292. She was colored up with a whole big pile of Copics, and I kept this card pretty soft with the colors and simple with the layout, so her stars truly shine!

The yellow layer is embossed with stars (although you can't really see it in the picture). I used Gold spray from FSJ, and some enamel dots and sequins from Doodlebug. The die on the main layer is from Gina Marie.

That's it for me today. I hope you're all having a fabulous day! Don't forget to check out the Oddball Art Stamps Facebook Group for more inspiration. I hope to see you playing along with your Oddball beauties!

Oddball Art Stamps October Release

Hello my dears! I have a HUGE post to share with you today. Last week, Oddball Art Stamps had their October release, and it is AMAZING. Nine....9....yes, NINE new images are available in the Etsy Shop right now!

I've created projects with 3 of the images, and decided since this release is so big and fun, I'll share them all here in one post. No lines, no waiting! All of my coloring in these projects was done with Copics.

This card uses Sleeping Fox, Image No. 347. I adore him! So so sweet. He might be my favorite from this release....oh boy....as IF I could pick just one favorite! Nice try ;) Paper and leaf sticker are from Doodlebug, dies are from Spellbinders, embellies are from Basic Grey, Fun Stampers Journey, and Lawn Fawn.

Trick or treat!! She's called Spooks, Image No. 345, and she's a fabulous Halloween fairy, but she could be used for other things too without any trouble! So versatile. Die from Gina Marie. Paper from Doodlebug. Sequins and google eyes from Dollar Tree, if you can believe it!

Here I'm featuring Image No. 343 - Stars and Bubbles. I had a lot of fun....and stress making this card! LOL, I am still learning to get really messy in my crafting...the engineer in me does not like being out of control in regards to some of these funky fun watercolor techniques, using sprays and powders where the placement is often random...it's HARD! But it's also very fun, and it can make SUCH incredible products. I've seen so many with the Brushos paint powders, sprays like the ones Fun Stampers Journey sells (by far the best colors, best designed bottles, best sparkle, and best control), watercolors with various media, etc. So I've been experimenting a bit too ;). For this project I printed the image to encompass the entire space on the card, and used the sentiment from Image No. 207 to round off the front. Then I colored the Stars and Bubbles using Copics. After that was dry I used watercolor crayons to provide a base of background watercoloring, leaving some white space, which I filled with the Pineapple and Blue Lagoon sprays from FSJ while the paper was still wet in most places so it continued to bleed a LITTLE. I finished it off with various colors of the Nuvo Drops from Tonic (glittery red, black, turquoise, white and clear) randomly applied. I distressed the edges of the main image panel and the base of red cardstock before I assembled. SUPER MESSY but a lot of fun and I was so happy with how this card turned out.

Whew! That's all the showcases that I have to share with you today. My DT Sisters made some absolutely amazing projects, so be sure to pay them a visit too, and the fabulous Lizzy Love is sharing everything over the next few days on her blog as well. If you haven't yet, come over and join our Facebook Group, where we have a monthly Anything Goes Challenge, and check out all the new releases in the Oddball Shop!

Penny's Challenge #301: Anything Goes!

Good morning stampers! I hope everyone's week is going well! I swear I don't know what DAY it even is, I've been doing some traveling for work, my mom is visiting/helping with the kiddos while I do that, plus some major fall cleaning projects around the house. Oh, and yesterday was my older son's birthday! Nothing like a "busy week", right??

The new challenge at Penny's starts today though! Our sponsors this week are Fred She Said and Little Blue Button Stamps. Prizes are up for grabs! You have until Tuesday night to link up with us on the Penny's Challenge blog.

Today's card features the happy little Emma Mermaid:

Isn't she fun? There are some accessories and a background included with the set, but I just kept picturing her against a fun, bright background, so I switched gears on this project and went with my gut.

Colored with Copics, dies from Gina Marie, embellies and paper from Basic Grey, Fun Stamper's Journey.

That's it for this post! Don't forget to swing over to the Penny's Challenge blog to link up your projects for your chance to win! My DT sisters have created some beautiful inspiration, so leave them some love too!

My second project for our Anything Goes Facebook Challenge this month features this AWESOME Cosplay image...Cosplay Fun #303. She was colored up with a whole big pile of Prismacolor Premier Pencils this time around - I've been slowly testing the waters and trying to improve my pencil skills!

I have used my brand new Brushos color powders on the background today, for the first time ever. I have NO IDEA what I'm doing with them, hehe. But so much fun to make a crafty "mess" sometimes! Also some Tonic Nuvo dots and Stickles thrown on there to help the "stars" shine through this nebulous creation. I couldn't come up with a worthy sentiment for this project, so I just left it off for now. I can always add it before using, or put something on the inside.
