Challenge Time With Aurora!

It's Tuesady!! I'm glad you stopped by today! We have another fantastic Try It Out Tuesday challenge from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design to jump start your creativity! This week's challenge {TIOT52} is to create a bookmark! Of course I decided to use another of the newly released images from The Aurora Collection by Victoria Case for SCACD! This is Aurora with Tulips.

Of course I couldn't stop with JUST making a bookmark today {Um, hello, an excuse to color up Aurora some more?? Sign me up!}. So I have a matched set - I made card to go along with it. What a fun little gift!

I have several challenges that went into this sweet little set today! I used a sketch for the card from the Mojo Monday challenge {MOJO123}. I also incorporated the Cupcake Craft Challenges for this week, challenge #75 was to create a matching set {i.e. card plus....something}.

I pulled the color scheme from Rachel's delicious Cupcake Inspiration Challenge {CIC43}, she finds the BEST stuff to post for this challenge, it's a newly discovered one for me but as you see, I keep coming back. It's fabulous, thanks Rachel! Here's the inspiration picture:

And last but certainly not least, this week at The Pink Elephant they want to see polka dots, a bow, and pink. Ladies after my own heart, I tell you what!! TPE51, I had fun adding that in as well. The combination of all these challenges got me going with this giftie - I love you all!

A few quick details on the project. I stamped Aurora in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. The colors are Almost Amethyst, Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery. A littler wider pink satin ribbon from the stash, some Color Me buttons as well and she is ready to go!

That's all for me, be sure to check out the SCACD store blog today for lots more bookmark ideas! Make it a good one and stamp happy, I will see you tomorrow!

LPS Monday - Color It!

Happy Monday out there!! How are we today?? I know I'm doing great and I have a fun project to share this morning! You may remember we just released two new sets last week over at the {Little Paper Shop}, and I just can't put this one down! This is {Lily and Lucy Messages}, and they are ADORABLE!!! Such a sweet new look for these girls, and fabulous mix-n-match sentiments as well. I love how Julia has left us so many options with these great focal images and great varitey of words; Valentine's, birthday, anniversary, or even just general cards with "Best Wishes" or "Love". Julia, you rock!

Here is my card for today, featuring Lucy:

I used a sketch to make this card, The Pink Elephant had a skeetch challenge last week and it's just prefect, a classic look {you know I love that} so I had to participate! This is TPE50 and here it is for reference:

For my project today, I started off by stamping Lucy in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white. I cut her out with Petite Oval Nestabilities, layered the scallops behind, added the cross piece (EK Success border punch), ribbon, and sentiment stamped onto a die cut tag and viola! My color scheme is just a tiny bit off of Kraft, it's more of a Mustard color but I absolutely HAD to use this cute cute cute new paper, so it's all good!

Be sure to visit the LPS store blog and the other DT members to see all the inspiration with these colors! AND, if you play along with our challenge this week you'll be entered to win LPS stamps!! Check out the details on the LPS store blog this morning - you have until Sunday night to enter by linking up on this week's post on the LPS store blog and the winner will be announced there next Monday morning. Can't beat free stamps AND an excuse to use them and do more stampin'!

Last thing before I go, HUGE news of a SALE from the {Little Paper Shop} going on NOW until February 1st, Julia has a coupon code available for all orders, just enter "WINTER" for 15% off everything!

Cupcake Craft Challenge with Aurora!

Welcome to the weekend!! Woo hoo!! Today I wanted to share a card I made using our gorgeous new addition over at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, AURORA!! The new collection is called Victoria Case for SCACD - The Aurora Collection and I know you love her as much as we do! She is available now!

I used a sketch for today's card from over at the Cupcake Craft Challenges. This is challenge #74 and here it is for reference {I made my card 5" square}:

I also used a color challenge {although I forgot when I blogged this due to EXTREME jet lag coming home from our vacation --- sorry!!!}. My new favorite for colors, the Copics Colour Challenge blog, this is CCC48. My colors are a little off {the blue} because I really wanted to use this yummy paper, but I was going for this combo when I made it so I say it counts! Here's the swatch:
This image is called Aurora with Bird. I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I added some highlights with the Ranger white gel pen when I was done there. Basic Grey patterned paper of course! Some little pearls at the top to finish it off {Kaisercraft} and she's all set!

TIOT51 - Alter It!

It's Tuesady!! Today we have another fantastic Try It Out Tuesday challenge from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design to jump start your creativity! This week's challenge {TIOT51} is to create an altered item featuring one of the newly released images from The Aurora Collection by Victoria Case for SCACD! For my image I chose Aurora Takes A Break, featuring coffee!!!I stamped my darling Aurora in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. After she was colored up, I embellished with the Ranger Inkssentials white gel pen -- the bestest!! I loves 'em, they alllllllllllways work, woohoo! Then I cut her out to size and put her together the mats and layers. The rest is all patterned paper {new Basic Grey Origins, yummy!}, ribbon and Petaloo Dazzler flowers! These are so fun and no glitter mess for you glittery nay-sayers, heehee! The glitter is in the paper and they are pre-rhinestoned too. :)

I incorporated a color challenge with this week's challenge too, fun fun! I have been really loving the Copic Colour Challenges lately, really great combinations and of course I ALWAYS use my Copics! This is CCC47, and here is the swatch for reference:

Such great colors for this gorgeous paper and of course they compliment the darling Aurora! Be sure to check out the SCACD store blog for lots more welcoming inspiration today! Make it a good one and stamp happy, I will see you tomorrow!

LPS Preview - {In Love}

It's MONDAY!! Hah, do you love the enthusiasm? Well we started off yesterday with new PREVIEWS for the January release from the {Little Paper Shop}, and we are continuing that party train today! This is {In Love}, a beautiful sentiment and image set that includes a mixture of quotes and graphics in a fabulous font. You'll reach for this one over and over - and it's here just in time for Valentine's Day! Release day is tomorrow.

I used a sketch to make this card, Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #56 {MTSC56}. This one is for the current week, a new sketch will be up tomorrow. Here it is for reference:

Be sure to visit the LPS store blog today and enter a comment for a chance to win this set! It's also the start of a new weekly challenge {LPSC51}; and you know that when a challenge falls on release week, Julia gives away an extra set to a lucky challenge participant! This week's is easy - use BUTTONS on your card. Link up on the challenge post on the LPS store blog to enter!

For my project today, I started off by stamping this sweet fabulous new sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white. Stamped the heart with red and cut it out. My color scheme is direct from the paper - the new Basic Grey Sugar Rush, so much fun! My entire Amethyst layer is painted with Fairy Dust Inspirations Paints for some extra shimmer. The hearts on the upper right are my buttons for the challenge element, how perfect was that?!

Last thing before I go, HUGE news of a SALE from the {Little Paper Shop}, beginning TOMORROW with this release and until February 1st, Julia has a coupon code available for all orders, just enter "WINTER" for 15% off everything!

A Challenging {LPS} Preview

Happy Sunday! I hope you're having a great weekend! Well, it's "that time" again, a new release is coming your way from the {Little Paper Shop} and today we have your first preview - {Lucy and Lily Messages}.

Isn't she a little darling? I love her shy look and her curly pigtails. Too adorable!

It's challenging because I was busy combining inspiration and elements for this card! I used a sketch to make this card, MOJO121 from the Mojo Monday blog. Always a fan of the Mojo Monday and this is no exception! This one is still current, a new sketch will be up tomorrow. Here it is for reference:
I started off by stamping Miss Lily with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto PTI white cardstock and coloring with Copic markers. I of course did some highlighting with the Ranger white gel pen! Paper is the new Basic Grey Origins - yummy! I stamped the sentiment on a scrap and cut it out to layer over my circle. Viola!

It's a birthday card, so it also works for this week's The Pink Elephant Challenge {TPE49} - birthday theme. Fun! I love adding challenges to my projects -- and they make great inspiration {i.e., this started out as a Valentine and went off in a whole different direction so I could make it birthday for the TPE challenge!} ;)

Be sure to visit the LPS store blog today and leave a comment for a chance to win this set! It's as easy as that! See you back here tomorrow for another LPS preview day and a new LPS weekly challenge -- that means two ways to win tomorrow! Woot!

Try Out a Color Challenge!

It's Tuesady!! Today we have another fantastic Try It Out Tuesday challenge from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design to jump start your creativity! This week's challenge {TIOT50} is a color challenge! My *almost* favorite type of challenge {sketches are #1 of course!}. The colors for this week's gorgeous inspiration are aqua, coral, and either white or cream. My coral is on the darker side, this is actually the berry color from PTI; it's comparable to Cameo Coral from SU -- but prettier. For my image I chose Spunkette, one of the original Elisabeth Bell for SCACD images from Sampler Edition #1. She is SUCH a darling little fairy, I adore her long, sweet wings, beautiful flower outfit and flowing hair.

I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. After she was colored up, I cut her out with snips, layered with Classic Circle Nestabilities, and put together the mats and layers. The rest is all patterned paper {Basic Grey and PTI}, ribbon and faux stitching! Remember, the Ranger Inkssentials white gel pen is the bestest!! I loves 'em, they alllllllllllways work, woohoo! Kaisercraft pearls to finish it off and she is PERFECT, another gorgeous girl from the minds of Elisabeth and Susana!

I incorporated a sketch with this week's challenge too OF COURSE, you know how much I love sketches!! This is TESC97 from this week's Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge. You KNOW I love Taylor's inspiration, always tops on my list when I need a good sketch!! Here's it is for reference:

Now we have an extra-special day today at SCACD. The ALWAYS generous Susana has the yummiest of all blog candy up on the SCACD store blog beginning today......beeeeeeeecause we have another amazing release in store for you at the end of the week!!!! TIOT49 & MOJO120 - Welcome Back!

It's Tuesady!! Do you love it?! We are BACK with another fantastic Try It Out Tuesday challenge from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design to kick off the new year! This week's challenge (TIOT49) calls for a welcome card! Fun! I didn't have anything specific to welcome so I made a general one - good for neighbors, coworkers, kids, etc. I chose Susan, one of the original Elisabeth Bell for SCACD images from the Sampler Edition #1.

I stamped her in
Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. After she was colored up, I cut her out with Curved Rectangle Nesties, sponged the edges, layered with a Classic Oval, and put together the mats and layers. The rest is all patterned paper and CB embossing! I used some metallic gold marker to write "welcome" since I didn't have the perfect stamp for the sentiment. Kaisercraft pearls to finish it off and she is FABULOUS, another gorgeous girl from the minds of Elisabeth and Susana!

I incorporated a sketch with this week's challenge too OF COURSE, you know how much I love sketches!! This is Mojo 120 from yesterday's Mojo Monday challenge! Teresa did a wonderful job on this one. Here's the sketch:

Be sure to check out the SCACD store blog for lots more welcoming inspiration today! Make it a good one and stamp happy!
