Penny's Challenge #369 - Anything Goes (1 of 2)

Hello stampers! I hope everyone's week is going well! The new challenge at Penny's started yesterday, sorry I'm late with my post. Our sponsors this week are A Day for Daisies and Scrap N Dipity. Always a so fabulous to have our amazing sponsors help us out with showcasing images! You have until Tuesday night to link up with us on the Penny's Challenge blog.

I love both of these sponsors. I confess. So, I made 2 cards for today. WOOHOO! First card features A Day for Daisies with image Flower Maiden 1. Such a classic, pretty image, and lends itself to lots of options for cardmaking. Today I kept it Clean And Simple to really show her off. I used one of my favorite color combos, red and light blue. I think she's just gorgeous!

Cardstock and sentiment from SU. colored with Copics. Sequins are Doodlebug Designs and adhered with Mini Glue Dots.

That's it for this post! Post #2 coming up with Scrap N Dipity! Don't forget to swing over to the Penny's Challenge blog to link up your projects for your chance to win! My DT sisters have created some beautiful inspiration, so leave them some love too!

Rubbernecker Stamps - Challenge #28: Make It Shake

Hello and happy Tuesday to all my lovely readers! Today begins a new bi-weekly challenge over at Rubbernecker StampsRubbernecker Challenges are posted bi-weekly, and run from Tuesday through the second Sunday following. Challenges are open to EVERYONE, and always have a theme. I'm part of the challenge team, so I'll have themed inspiration for you every other Tuesday. The rules are posted on the challenge blog.

Challenge #28 - Make It Shake. Let's see those shaker cards! There are SO many ways to add this kind of fun element to your project - foam tape, die-cut foam shapes (pre-made or made by YOU), shaker window envelopes, shaker cups, etc. It's at least 100 times easier now than it was the first time I ever tried to do this (like 15 years ago....WHAT?) using just my eyeballs, Fiskars trimmer, and hexagon dimensionals from Stampin' Up!. Yes, back in the days of stone knives and bear skins, #amiright?

But, onto my inspiration piece. I LOVE making fun "cocktail" cards. It's one of my favorites because they are always so fresh, happy, and bright. The sentiments also make me smile, and if you can't enjoy what you're doing...well, that's just no good. :)

Tell me this card doesn't just make you HAPPY!

As you can see, the shaker element is the middle of this delicious-looking margarita. I stamped the image once, cut it out with the matching die and my Cuttlebug, then used an Xacto knife to cut out the middle. Then I stamped the image again, die cut it, and colored both images. I used the die again to cut out a piece of acetate, and adhered it to the top panel. Next, I cut foam tape to line the entire bowl of the glass so I could add my glitter, confetti and sequins. Then I sandwiched the glass, sprinkled "sugar" on the rim, adhered the straw to the back, and when the rest of the card was ready, added it in place for a yummy, sparkly card with lots of dimension! Here's another view of the glass, hopefully you can see the shaker element a bit better here:

Come on over and play along with us! We can't wait to see your fabulous shakin' creations. You have until Sunday March 11th to link up HERE on the Rubbernecker Challenge Blog.

Rubbernecker Stamps - Challenge #27: Anything But A Card

Hello and happy Tuesday to all my lovely readers! Today I have some AHHH-MAZING news to share! I am just thrilled to have joined the ranks of the ridiculously talented Rubbernecker Stamps Design Team. Squeeee! Today is the first day of our new challenge, and my first project to share as part of the team.

Rubbernecker Challenges are posted bi-weekly, and run from Tuesday through the second Sunday following. Challenges are open to EVERYONE, and always have a theme. I'm part of the challenge team, so I'll have themed inspiration for you every other Tuesday. The rules are posted on the challenge blog.

Challenge #27 - Anything But A Card. I will admit, after joining up and beginning to learn my way around things, I was SUPER DUPER intimidated by this first challenge. If you've been here before, you know that I'm basically a card maker. So coming up with cool 3D type items (or, really, "anything but a card") always seems to be a major challenge for me. That being said, I really am pleased with how my project turned out today. (PHEW, right?!). :)

This lovely bouquet was very tricky to photograph. Because of the layered blooms, the movement of the wire stems, and 3D nature of the whole she-bang, I took about 50 photos from different angles trying to show off all the fun little details. I hope I caught them all!

Come on over and play along with us! We can't wait to see your fabulous "Anything But A Card" creations. You have until Sunday February 18th to link up HERE on the Rubbernecker Challenge Blog.

Supplies Used:

Aloha Friday #111 - Safari Animals

Good morning! Aloha Friday is in full swing over at Kitty Bee Designs! Our current challenge is #111: Food or Drink, and this is week #2Our challenge this week is sponsored by The Paper Shelter.

I love this adorable new image! This is one of the newer releases from Kitty Bee Designs, Emilee #2. After she was colored (Copics), I used a plain cirlce to die cut the image and mat, and added some funky patterned papers (Doodlebug) with border (punch), embellies (glitter dots, making memories) and dimension.

I have to apologize for my bad photo. I just yesterday got the newest version of Photoshop Elements and Premier Elements (by the way, it's on sale through the Adobe Website HERE until February 18th if you're looking to upgrade). I was using an embarrassingly old version of Photoshop Elements, and while it didn't always want to work right with my computer, it got the job done enough to straighten, crop, and watermark my photos. I was able to get this one cropped and watermarked with the new version, but that's about it. (Because silly me uninstalled PSE4 before installing 2018 because I didn't want to worry about conflicts or any junk with the new program. Except it's all brand new and I don't know how to use it all yet! Derp...) It looks like a great and powerful program, and I'm excited about it, but the toolbars and such are all in different places. I need to run some tutorials so I can learn all the new secrets! In the meantime, behold my crooked, un-vignetted, barely presentable photo. At least Emilee is carrying me by being so incredibly adorable!

Thanks for stopping by, be sure to link up your school creations over at Aloha Friday, and I hope you have an AWESOME day!

Here's my project, featuring Birthday Cheese. I love this image! It makes me smile. Yes, way way back in the day when I was teeny tiny, we had one of these cameras. It was the MOST AMAZING thing ever!

Since this is a camera, I wanted to add a little "glass" look to the lens and flash area. I used Tonic Nuvo Crystal Glaze in clear and let it dry. I took another photo at an angle to try to show the shine.

I uses a sketch today, Viva la Verve for February, one of my favorites for sketches!
