TIOT29 - Gifts For Puppies Too!

Hello!! Welcome to another Try It Out Tuesday from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! This week (TIOT29) we are feelin' like giftin'!! DT leader Suzanne Dean challenged us to make a gift of some kind. Well, for once I actually had an idea for a gift item right away! I know, can you believe it?

Today I reached for Rian. She's so sweet and shy looking, and the puppy love is pretty clear for all to see! I stamped her in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic markers. When she was ready I set her aside and made my box. I have a plastic take out box that I used as a template, I loved the size of it so I bought one, took it apart and now I can make as many as I need!

Before I go any further, I have to mention this. Have you tried using Scor-Tape in place of the super-sticky red line tape yet?? I now use it on all my 3D-type projects {and other things too, actually, it's so easy!} - and I want to say this clearly - I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO RED LINE TAPE!!! The Scor-Tape is amazingly cheap, just as sticky as the other stuff and BEST of ALL, you can tear it! No more annoyingness with the scissors every time you need another little piece of the red stuff. Whatever size you need, just tear it right off, it's not even HARD to tear. It comes in a humongous roll and you can make boxes and bags and all kinds of things to your heart's content. I don't even think I can convey my EXTREME LOVE for Scor-Tape via online forum delivery, but trust me, you won't be disappointed by it!

Ok, moving on to the rest of the box. I cut the pieces from white cardstock and assembled it using Scor-Tape. Cut the panels from my computer-generated patterned paper to place onto the sides, punched holes and added the wire handle. The sentiments in the ovals are computer-generated too. Then I just punched them all out, added Rian and the word ovals to the side of the box, and filled it with doggie cookies. My DS #1 is going to be giving this to a certain neighbor dog that he absolutely adores -- he is always asking if he can go over and play with her. I think she'll be pretty excited {about the contents of the box, LOL}.

That's it from me! Thanks for stopping by today! I hope everyone has a great week, and if you have time, Try It Out with us and show us your GIFT IDEAS!

LPSC26 - Color Challenge!

Welcome to {Little Paper Shop} Monday! This week we have a color challenge for you. I will admit I was a bit nervous with this one, I am NOT good with the brights at all. I decided to pull out this cute little {Flyin' By} set and make a smaller notecard. This is 4.25" square.

Nothing fancy but gets the job done, especially for a quick birthday card! On the inside I put a Happy Birthday sentiment in a scalloped circle similar to the main image.

Be sure to check out the LPS blog and the DT's individual blogs for more colorful LPS goodness! If you would like to play along with us, please do so! Link up your creation on this post on the LPS blog and one random winner will receive TWO free digis! You have all week to play, just get your entries in by Sunday night and use keyword LPSC26 if you upload to SCS or PCP.

WSC90 and Elisabeth Bell!

Happy Saturday!!! Well, Saturday evening by now; where did the day go?? I meant to have this project up first thing this morning - but you know how THAT goes!! All's well that ends well, I say. :)

Do you not LOVE LOVE her??? I know, I say that a lot, but I do love papercrafting (of course) and these new Elisabeth Bell for SCACD images are really quite fabulous. What's NOT to love? Meet Susan.

I had to pull out Basic Grey for this card, Lemonade. I also snuck in a sketch challenge, WOO HOO, this is Weekend Sketch Challenge #90 a sketch for today's card (WSC90). What a nice one and perfect for this image!

All the usual suspects to create this, I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. Did some highlighting with the Ranger white gel pen when all the coloring was done. Cut and matted using Petite Oval Nestabilities. The flower is a Petaloo and I added the punched circle and the Kaisercraft Rhinestone. I did her bouquet with a Quickie Glue Pen and various colors of glitter, along with a bit of the new Taffy Smooch!

Hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for visiting me tonight.

Try It Out Tuesday #28 - THANK You!

Hello!! Welcome to another Try It Out Tuesday from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! This week (TIOT28) we have something to say! THANK YOU!! And we all featured one of the BRAND NEW Elisabeth Bell for SCACD images as well...hmm... ;-) You can see my card here, and all of the DT's projects are featured on the SCACD blog.

You'll have to take my word for it that I made a thank you card, heehee! I forgot to take a photo of the inside, but I used the *hearts*-X's-O's sentiment from the Susanaments 2 on the inside of the card. My sentiment is on the inside because I used a sketch for today's card (MOJO96) and there wasn't a place for it on the front. Personally, I think that gorgeous image speaks for herself anyway!

But onward to the details on what you CAN see! I stamped Young Alexa in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. Did some highlighting with the Ranger white gel pen when all the coloring was done, plus the dots along the scallop. Cut and matted using Classic Circle Nestabilities. The paper is from Die Cuts With A View and the cardstock colors (Stampin' Up!) are Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery. Pearls are from Kaisercraft (of course!).

Thanks for stopping by today. Susana has just added the newly released SMOOCH colors to the store, so get yours while the getting is good!

LPS Monday

Happy Monday! We are getting a late start around here, boy it was a busy weekend. :) But welcome to another {Little Paper Shop} Monday! Today's challenge over on the LPS blog is a sketch challenge brought to us by the uber-talented Cindy Haffner! There is a PRIZE this week, a set of the newly-released {Beary Best Katie}! Good luck to all and we'll let you know who the random winner is next Monday on the LPS blog.

I actually did not participate in the sketch challenge as I ran out of time the last few days, although my card comes close! I used the newly released {Angelic Jena}, what a doll! You can visit the LPS blog for the sketch and for DT inspiration. Be sure to leave a comment there letting us know you played, and if you upload to SCS or PCP you can use LPSC25 as this week's keyword.

Also, just as as reminder, today is the last day for the 10% off sale on the new releases, so if you haven't gotten yours yet, you can head on over to the website! Happy stamping!

Elisabeth Bell for SCACD is HERE!!!

click photo to enlarge

TODAY is THE DAY!!! Woo hoo!!!

The Elisabeth Bell for SCACD stamps are officially OUT and available, so RUN, don't walk over to THE STORE to get yours! *swoon* They are so so sooooo fabulous; I just {heart} them all! Elisabeth is amazing anyway, but I really think she's outdone herself with these exclusives. Here's a direct link to the Elisabeth Bell page if you're in a big hurry. :)

I have all the details of my lovely for today here, but I did want to quick say THANK YOU for all the sweet comments from yesterday's preview blog hop. You all really brighten my day and it means a lot to me that you take the time to leave some project feedback. {{BIG HUGS}} to all my readers, old and new!! Ok, mushy detour over, LOL.

For today's release celebration I have used "Emma". Tied for first in my favorite girl's name of all time, she's got that sweet smile, beeeeeeee-autiful hair -- and yes, a kitten in her basket! If there was any way for me to adopt this darling it would already be done! Don't you love her??

I started as always by stamping Miss Emma with Memento Tuxedo Black ink (onto Paper Trey white c/s) and colored with Copic markers. I added some accents here and there with the Ranger white gel pen when all the coloring was done -- one of my favorite things as you know! After she was matted I set her aside and cut and Cuttlebugged all my other layers. My main colors are Baja Breeze, Soft Sky and Elegant Eggplant. The sky-colored background panel is a Bazzill iridescent c/s from the LSS that matched the color palette so I threw it in there for some extra zap!

Yes, on the horizontal layer you do see YUMMY Basic Grey Wisteria! Susana is now carrying Basic Grey papers, so you can stock up when you order your new Elisabeth Bell for SCACD darlings today! I for one am thrilled that she has brought BG in, it is by far my top patterned paper and I'd rather buy from Susana than anyone else anyway, she has wonderful customer service!

Ok, I think that covers most of the deets on my project! You can visit the SCACD store blog to see everyone's cards today, or take another quick hop around the DT blogs {links in my left sidebar} to catch another day of Elisabeth Bell goodness! Thanks for stopping by! Happy SHOPPING on this fabulous Friday!

Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Blog Hop!!

It is almost here!!! The Elisabeth Bell for SCACD stamp release is TOMORROW people!! Woohoo - only 24 hours to go!!! We've been waiting and waiting for this day, and let me tell you, it is going to be SO good. *big grins & happy dance*

Ok, so to get the party started right, we are blog hoppin' today with the SCACD DT, giving previews of all the Elisabeth Bell gorgeousness! So, if you're already started along on the hop, WELCOME from Aud's blog! If you haven't yet begun, you can head over to Suzanne's blog to get started from the beginning.

My card today features "Spunkette", the SWEETEST fairy around! I just love her long and elegant wings. I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. I added some highlights with the Ranger white gel pen when all the coloring was done (of course!). I love that trick for adding pop and highlighting! I cut her out and layered her over my DELICIOUS new Basic Grey Lemonade papers!! Susana has recently brought Basic Grey into the store - woo hoo! She's the one-stop shop for all the best goodies.

I added some Key Lime Shimmerz to her wings (I know, so hard to see in the photo). I added Diamond Stickles to the Cuttlebug dots on the horizontal layer. Plenty of KaiserCraft bling to round out the layout. KaiserCraft is by far my preferred brand, they have the perfect amount of stick without any muss or fuss - and so many colors to choose from! The "Love" tag is cut from a Cuttlebug die. The "Love" word itself is part of a stamp from the first set of Susanaments; the sweet and versatile sentiments designed by Susana herself! I use mine all the time.

Thanks for hopping over today!! I hope you enjoy the Elisabeth Bell for SCACD previews as much as we have loved bringing them to you. Remember, there is still blog candy available until 12 PM MST TODAY on the SCACD store blog so swing by there when you're done checking out all the beautiful projects on display from the DT today!!

Speaking of the hop, your next blog to visit is....MARIA! See you over there. :)

Oh, and see you back here tomorrow for another Elisabeth Bell for SCACD project and the big RELEASE at the store!

IT'S RELEASE DAY!!! Woo hoo!! The newest additions to our {Little Paper Shop} family have arrived, and for a limited time, they are on sale for 10% off! Get your {Angelic Jena} and {Beary Best Katie} before Monday July 20th to cash in on the savings!

In addition to the sale over at the store, we'd love for you to stop by the LPS store blog today, since it's time for our monthly DT challenge. The talented Julie Lacey issued this month's challenge -- she wants us to "Get Krafty with Punches"!

The challenge: Use the colors Kraft, Pink, and Green on your cards, and incorporate punches.

I used {Beary Best Katie} for this one, she's just so fun. I love her little teddy bear with the patch on his belly, and her dress just screams for paper piecing! My "Kraft" is buried behind the other layers, but it is there!

Be sure to head over to the store blog to see what the rest of the DT created for this fun challenge, and see the winner of yesterday's contest -- they WON this great stamp set from Julia! For those that didn't win, head over to the store to get yours!

Lily at the Beach - TIOT Style!

Good morning!! Welcome to another Try It Out Tuesday from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! This week (TIOT27) we have a sketch challenge for you! You can see the sketch (above), and all of the DT's projects are featured on the SCACD blog.

Here is mine!

How can you not just want to cuddle that Lily from Pink Cat Studio!? She's just the cutest. This image is from the Lily at the Beach plate, available for the amazing price of $12.50 from SCACD! I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. I added some highlights with the Ranger white gel pen when all the coloring was done (of course!). That is such a great trick to add pop and highlighting! Cut and matted using Classic Rectangle Nestabilities. There is December Sky Shimmerz Blingz on her mask for that "wet & sparkly" look (which is hard to capture on film).

Thanks for stopping by! We just heard from Susana that she has added a bunch of new items to the store, so swing by and check it out when you have a chance! I hope you all have time to get sketchy with us at SCACD this week! Oh, and last thing, don't forget...

Lily the Fairy!

TGIF!!! Today I wanted to share a sketch challenge card!! Sketch challenges are one of my favorite things to play around with, and I haven't had much time doing ones while they are CURRENT lately so last night I made it a point to! You can see the sketch, above, from Jacksonbelle, and here is my card:

I just love the Enchanted Lily plate by Pink Cat Studio!! These super-cute images are available at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, along with a bunch of other PCS plates {the new Sporty Billy among them!}. The BEST customer service around too.

I stamped Lily in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with --- wait for it --- COLORED PENCILS AND GAMSOL!!! Yes, I deviated from Copics on this one, I thought I'd shock you with a change, LOL. I did do her skin with Copics because it never turns out right with pencils. I added Diamond Stickles to the Swiss Dots on the background piece and also to the inside of her wings. Fun fun! Can't go wrong with pink and glitter, am I right?

Thanks for visiting today! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Try It Out Tuesday #26 - Scrap It!

Welcome to Try It Out Tuesday! This week's challenge (TIOT26) from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design is to create a scrapbook page featuring any Anki's Sweethearts for SCACD or Victoria Case for SCACD image! Any size layout will do. :) You can see all the details and all the projects on the SCACD blog.

Well I'm embarassed to say it has been well over a year since I have scrapped. In fact, I can't believe it's July already. The photos in this 8x8 layout were taken just about 1 year ago, when we moved to our new house. One of the first tasks for my DH (and DS #1, as you can see) was to put up a swing set and a FENCE for the back yard. Here they are priming and painting the boards to make the post-and-rail fence that DH built -- it's white of COURSE!

This was a perfect challenge for me as I had these photos sitting here, and who better to pair them with than the darling Little Helper from Anki's Sweethearts? I stamped him in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. Some highlights with the Ranger white gel pen when all the coloring was done, then cut him out. I cropped and matted my photos and set them aside while I decided on the background piece. In the end I pulled out the Scor-Pal and scored every inch, then rotated one turn and scored every OTHER panel every 1.5" to simulate plank boards all put together. I hand-made the "nails" with the tip of the scoring tool. You should be able to get a good view if you click the picture for the extra-extra-large view.

The angled photo and the Little Helper are up on dimensionals. I printed the title on the computer and colored with Copics as well. The orange paperclip and the fence were in my stash.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are inspired to scrap along with us this week on the SCACD blog!

LPS Monday - Garden Gate

Hi everyone and welcome to Monday again!! You know that means another goodie from the {Little Paper Shop}!! This week's challenge is a sketch, although it is NOT this sketch. I had planned on making my card last night as my first "down time" of the weekend, but my DS #2 came down with a TERRIBLY HIGH fever that started yesterday morning and was over 104 by dinner time. So instead of stamping and relaxation time I spent the most of the evening and night holding my poor baby. He is much cooler this morning but still not back to his normal self.

Anyway, no stamping for me and I wanted to get something up on the blog here for today so I'm posting this card featuring the June release {Garden Gate}. This creation features the BG Porcelain paper, SU Top Note Die, additional die cuts and a few strokes of the Copics. Nothing too fancy today but still fun!

Be sure to head over to the LPS blog to view the sketch for this week's LPSC23 and enter there {through participation in the challenge} for a chance to win two free digital images of your choice! The fun never stops and Julia is just SO generous! You can also visit the rest of the LPS DT gals, their links are in my left sidebar. They always have amazing projects to share so you won't want to miss out!

+++++++++++++++++++++++

My last item for today -- blog candy alert!!! As Jana's week as the SCACD Spotlight Stamper comes to a close, she is offering up some blog candy! Winning is easy... just leave a comment on her personal blog JANA’S BLOG. Winner will be announced on Saturday July 11th in the morning. What's in it for you??

WOW!!! Go check it out! Thanks for stopping by today, I'll see you tomorrow for Try it out Tuesday!

Butterflies & Birthdays

Happy 4th of July!!! Today's card features Catherine with Butterfly from Anki's Sweethearts from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. She's one of my favorite Anki's -- and I know she's seen the most ink!! This image is from the first series release. Sentiment is from the Pink Cat Studio Lily & Tweet plate, also available from SCACD.

I stamped my Sweetheart with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. I added some highlights with the Ranger white gel pen when all the coloring was done. Cut and matted using Curved Rectangle Nestabilities.

The card base is Chocolate Chip, and I painted it first with Silver Bells Shimmerz, and then after that dried I painted it with Pumpkin Shimmerz to get a softer brown color and a lot of BLING BLING going on! For once I used brads instead of rhinestones or pearls, hahaha, can you believe it?? Flowers are assorted paper goodies from my stash. Susana sells some great white ones that you can custom color with Shimmerz or Copic markers (or whatever, really!).

Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!! Check out the TEASER I have for you......
