Does This Look Good?

Last week's Color Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers was to "Make Yo Yo Yellow Look Good" (CC151). Color Challenges are posted every Tuesday and are a great source of inspiration, and sometimes a way for you to step outside your comfort zone and try something new in your stamping. For me, this was most definitely a challenge and an out of the box project. I don't acutally like and very rarely use Yo Yo Yellow - or rather, I rarely use Bold Brights, with Yo Yo Yellow in particular in the "nuh uh" pile! I guess it's just a little too Yo Yo for me...

I actually got the colors here slightly wrong, because the challenge was to use Yo Yo Yellow, Basic Grey and Going Grey. I was in a hurry and going off of memory, and I accidentally used Yo Yo Yellow, Basic Grey and Black. But I think it's close enough!

I also used last week's sketch challenge from Card Positioning Systems (CPS). Another great resource - they post a new sketch every week and will link back reader cards if you post a comment telling them you made a project! How fun is that!? This was CPS48, and here is the sketch:

Have I mentioned that I hate Yo Yo Yellow? I'm not thrilled with this one but I'm not hiding in shame either, LOL. I decided to post it because I think that it's very good to try new things with your art, ESPECIALLY if it is outside your happy place and not something you'd normally go for. You never know until you try, right?
