A
new stand-alone contemporary romance – and yet another 5-star read
from Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. Her books have become an automatic 1-click
for me, and across all the different genres she brings us, I have yet
to be disappointed. Wish is a freshly updated and truly unique take
on the “genie in a bottle” fantasy that will hook you from the
first page.
Why
did I love this book? The reasons are many, but if I had to pick just
one thing, it’s the richness of both the characters and the story.
Every aspect from character backstory to hilarious internal dialogue
has an attention to detail that brings the story vividly to life. Our
heroine Ginnie is a mosaic artist who has recently uprooted herself
to follow her boyfriend across the country. She’s invested her life
and her savings in their future; unfortunately her lying, cheating
now EX-boyfriend has not. Despite the hard times she finds herself
in, Ginnie is kindhearted and selfless, with a rod of steel running
through her independent spine – and she does NOT take charity.
She’s determined to turn things around on her own merits. While on
the thrifty hunt for new glass for use in her artwork, Ginnie finds a
gorgeous bottle...not once, but twice. Enter Mr. Wish. If you could
have one wish...what would YOU wish for?
We
get the perfect amount of mystery tidbits mixed in here with our
romance and humor. Is Mr. Wish really a genie? What does Ginnie need
to do to get her life back under control? True to form, just when you
think you’ve got things figured out...well, you don’t! I loved
every twisty turn and laugh out loud interaction all the way to the
HEA. ALL the feels, you guys!
If
you enjoy sassy wit and steamy romance with a sprinkle of mystery and
fantasy, then you absolutely need this book. I received an ARC in
exchange for an honest review. However, I’ve purchased MANY of Mimi
Jean’s books in the past, and would have happily 1-clicked this
one!
