Wouldn't this be a great card for a little boy? At least that's what I was going for with these bright colors! I know I've mentioned before that I am seriously Bold Brights challenged, the only color I use from this family on a regular basis is red.
All stamps are from Firecracker Designs by Pamela. My April design set is of course Birthday Balloons - Up Up & Away and I've had a lot of fun with it. If you are interested in seeing all of my projects made with Firecracker Designs images, you can click on the Post Category of "fcd art" on the left sidebar.
This card uses CPS58 from the Card Positioning Systems blog. If you haven't checked them out before, you should! Lots of great ideas and new sketches to try out. Here's the sketch:
To make this card, I cut a piece of Green Galore cardstock to 4.25" x 11" and scored the long side at 5.5". I cut a piece of red cardstock to 4" x 5.25" and ran it through the Cuttlebug with the new Numbers embossing folder {can't remember the exact name}. I used the largest Nestabilities scalloped rectangle to cut the Brilliant Blue piece, and nested the largest regular rectangle into it for the main image.
I stamped the balloon in red ink, added Quickie glue and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I drew the string by hand and added the doodle by hand as well. I cut the tag with my Cuttlebug & Cuttlebug dies and punched the stars with the Small Star Punch from Stampin' Up! {first I stamped them with the Striped Stars from the Verve Visual Seeing Stars stamp set}. The main image and the stars are on dimensionals.
