CBC65, TECC67 - Ruby is Steppin' Out!

Welcome to Wednesday! Boy the week is flying by. Today I have a card for you featuring one of the new line of stamps from JessicaLynnOriginal - Brentwood Owl! This is actually Brentwood's female counterpart - Ruby! This image is called Ruby with Martini. I love it! I could go for a nice pink martini myself right about now.

This is my card for the Creative Belli Challenge this time around. It's a color challenge - Celery, Coral and Apricot. That worked great for Ms. Ruby and me! In case you haven't heard, the Belli Challenge is now BI-WEEKLY instead of weekly, so you will have TWO weeks to play along with us in this week's color challenge! Link up on the Mr. Linky on the Creative Belli Challenge blog, I can't wait to see your creations! Be sure to visit the rest of the Belli Girls too and see their color combo masterpieces - links on my left sidebar.

I also used a sketch for this card - TECC67 from Taylored Expressions. Always love the chance to play along with challenges, especially sketches!

And DON'T FORGET to enter to win free stamps from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design!! The new line is called Victoria Case for SCACD and this first release is The Hearts and Hugs Collection. Each day this week Victoria and Susana will reveal a puzzle piece of one of the upcoming images on their blogs! Both the SCACD store blog and Victoria's blog will have candy this week consisting of an entire set of the new release! The SCACD candy runs through Thursday evening with the winner announced on Friday morning when the new stamps are revealed and be sure to be back to Susana's on Friday for the big release party.

Meet Bunnie, SCACD News and Blog Candy!

TGIF! I have some great news - Susana from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design asked me to stay on with her as a guest designer for another month - of course I was thrilled to accept! Also coming on this month as a guest designer is Judy Laing - she is just amazing, so stop by to check out her blog if you have a chance!

In honor of Friday, and me another month with Susana, may I present
BUNNIE! She's a Rubber Romance Diva and she is one of my favorites. I showed her to my DH and he said "she looks just like you in the mornings!". hahahaha. I guess that's why she's one of my favorites huh? I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. The patterned paper is from the new Basic Grey Lime Rickey {I love my Heather who snagged this for me!} and the big brads are from SU. The colors are Orchid Opulence and Green Galore - I know, it's not a common color combo but I like how they work on this card. For the Belli Challenge this week we were to use jumbo brads or eyelets, so here is mine! {CBC64}. Better late than never, right?! :)

Don't forget that Susana has told us that more BIG FUN is coming over on the
SCACD PCP group so make sure you stop by there, join our bunch and check on the FUN! Last thing, this is the BIGGEST - to celebrate the store blog having over 10,000 hits, Susana is having some BLOG CANDY!! A $25 gift certificate to Susana's store to spend on some new goodies is up for grabs! Head over to Follow Your Heart and enter yourself to win! Then head over to the SCACD store and see what YOU would buy if you won. :-) New Lockharts are in stock now along with the Bella Crystal Flowers and this new Sparkly Stuff that I just can't wait to try!

Have a great day!

CBC58 - Inspiration Challenge

Are you ready to be INSPIRED? Check out the awesome book cover for the even more awesome book, New Moon. That was our inspiration for this week's Belli Challenge, keyword CBC58. Do you love it?? I think this is a great inspiration piece! Here is my interpretation:

Now let me just say this is the WORST PHOTO EVER!! I took it down in my stamp room where the lighting is not ideal for photography {to put it nicely}. I will try to retake the photo when we get some light in the upstairs of the house. I think that probably the shiny rose-colored paper was not helping matters either. ;-)

All images from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. I heat embossed these silhouette flowers using white EP, then I used a blender pen to pick up the dark rose color from my Shimmer Chalk Jewel Tone set and went over and added some color here and there to the white flowers. {This technique is called Pastel Embossing}. It gives a very soft look. I also heat embossed the sentiment in white EP on black cardstock and used circle and scallop circle punches to make the layered piece. The white dots were done with a white gel pen. I added black photo corners and my yummy velvet ribbon along the bottom and I was all set! Truly, this looks much better in person, but I had to post SOMETHING this morning so you get this until I can fix the photo, heehee.

A reminder -- today is the last day to enter my Ribbon Blog Candy by leaving a comment on THIS POST. I'll be drawing the winner Thursday morning -- come back then to see if you've won!

Ok, that's it for now. I'll be back in a little bit with another project made using a sneak peek of April's new release images from Pink Papery Studios! Thanks for stopping by this morning - be sure to stop back!

CBC57 - New Releases from SNSS

Good morning! I am here with my first post of the day (yep, there will be another later!) to share my card for this week's Creative Belli Challenge. For those who haven't heard of the Belli, it's short for "Embellishment" and each week we showcase a particular theme or product. AND, starting this week, to make things easier, there is a brand new BELLI BLOG! You can visit there and see everyone's projects, and the individual links are available on my left sidebar {and the Belli Blog too of course!}. That's the new central place you can link up your creation as well if you have time to play along with us!

This week is #57, and we were challenged to use a color we seldom use, along with images from Chris's or Courtney's latest stamp set from
Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps! These were just released last Friday so they are brand new! I used this sweet bird image from Chris's His Eye is on the Sparrow set. I colored it in with Copic markers {nice and spring-ish!} and used some patterned paper from a little pad I got at Archiver's on Saturday from Me & My Big Ideas. Some ribbon from my RABOM stash and Kaisercraft Pearls in Blush and I'm all set! Your SCS & PCP keyword for this week is CBC57.

The layout from this one is an old Mojo Monday sketch,
Mojo39. Because hey, why not? ;-)

Be sure to visit the
NEW Belli Blog and if you have time, hop around and leave some love for the rest of the Belli Design Team too. Thanks for stopping by today! Be back later with my Pink Papery: Charming Wednesday card.

CBC53, PPS Wednesday and a Sale!

Happy Wednesday out there! I have a fun card to share with you today that meets two challenges - yay!! The first is from Pink Papery Studios - Wednesday is our design team challenge day and this week we had a SKETCH CHALLENGE!! My favorite!! There it is, above. Fun! I combined it with my other Wednesday goodie, Chrissy's Belli Challenge, which was HEARTS this week {CBC53} in honor of Valentine's Day! I paired my hearts with this cutie Devil's Food Cake stamp from Pink Papery Studios.

Thanks for stopping by today! We are still enjoying Florida, although it is COLD today {cold for Florida is kind of a joke for us Northerners, but since we came here for the SUN I will say "It is cold today!"}. Be sure to visit the rest of the Pink Papery Studios design team, and the rest of the Belli Challenge team for lots of eye candy and inspiration. {Both link lists are on my left sidebar}. The Belli team also has Jessica Smith as a guest designer this week, so say hi to her!

See you tomorrow with the latest LIMELIGHT sketch challenge! LOTS and LOTS going on at Limelight this week, you can read Mandy's post for full details, but the highlights are...A Valentine's Day Sale and TWO challenges (with PRIZES!!). Mandy has good prizes so you'll want to check out the specifics! My card for tomorrow's is DONE so it'll be up first thing in the morning! {Tease, I know}.

PPS & Belli Wednesday

Wednesday time again! Today's card is a three-fer...sort of. I was aiming for combining the PPS Design Team challenge {use flowers} with the Belli Challenge for the week {use reinkers} and the Viva la Verve #3 sketch with a twist {click here}.

After kicking DH off the computer to shrink down my little cuppy cakes to fit the sketch and reprinting, I went to work on this card. Most of the coloring of the cupcakes was done with Aquapainters and reinkers. Belli Challenge #51 - check! The Viva la Verve sketch with a twist of pink {a little more than a "twist"} - check! Notice anything *missing*? After all that {took me awhile to get it just right}, I forgot flowers!! And really, the card doesn't NEED flowers. A little late to be noticing that oversight, huh? *sigh* Well, anyway, it does use these super cute cupcakes from Whimsey Studios, available at Pink Papery Studios. So sorry, no flowers for you today, but visit the other PPS ladies for some floral inspiration.

Here is the Verve sketch, for comparison:

Please visit the other Belli Challenge girls as well, and leave everyone some love! All the links are on my left sidebar.

Pink Papery Wednesday & CBC49

Happy Wednesday to my fabulous blog readers! I have a fun card to share with you today that meets two challenges - WOO HOO!! The first is from Pink Papery Studios - Wednesday is our design team challenge day and this week Lindsay wanted to see METALLICS from us! I combined it with Chrissy's Belli Challenge, which was NEW STAMPS this week {CBC49} - well that's easy for me since I just joined the PPS design team a couple of weeks ago I have a bunch of images I haven't used yet!

I used this unbelieveably adorable 100% Natural stamp set from Pink Papery Studios in my creation this week. I am in LOVE with this stamp line from Pink Papery Studios. That baby is just so squeezable! For this card I used a piece of Metallic Copper cardstock that I ran through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder as my background piece. I colored the image in with my Copics and I painted some Sunflower Shimmerz on the petals. I colored a second image and then cut out the arms and popped them up over the original image with dimensionals. The yellow accent piece is from the Glitter Stack from DCWV and it's SUPER glittery. I have a Metallic Copper layer in the mat as well and copper cord to finish it off.

I tried for the angled shot to show the Shimmerz and dimensional effect, but it got a bit blurry. I think you can get the idea though. :-)

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to visit the rest of the Pink Papery Studios design team, and the rest of the Belli Challenge team for lots of eye candy, inspiration, and to DROOL over all the new and gorgeous stampin' goodies everyone is showing off. {Both link lists are on my left sidebar}. See you tomorrow!

Supplies, etc.: Stamps - Digital images from 100% Natural set, Pink Papery Studios. Paper - Metallic Copper, Glorious Green, GP 110# white and DCWV Glitter Mat Stack. Other - Copic markers, dimensionals, glue dots, MS border punch, copper cord, green grosgrain, Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots folder, corner rounder, Shimmerz paint in Sunflower.

Belli Challenge #48 - Celebration

Well, today is also Belli Challenge day! And here is my card finally. The word of the day here was CRAZZZZZZZZY kids, LOL.

ETA: Looking at the picture here, it looks like the card is an odd size, but it's not, it's standard A2 sized! Just thought I'd mention that. :)

This week's Belli is "New Year" or other "Celebration" card (i.e. birthday) in honor of New Year's Eve! Obviously, I went with birthday. This image is from Wish RAK over on Splitcoast, it's a Happy Hoppers - isn't he CA-UUUTE? I colored him with Copics, die cut with my SU die, used a CB folder on the Bashful Blue layer and then painted over the whole background with December Sky Shimmerz Blingz. You can see the shimmer in the angle shot I took - also Blingz'd the cake and blue dots on the hat. The colors here are Chocolate Chip, Groovy Guava and Bashful Blue.

Whew! Another two-post day! But check out the blogs of the other Belli Girls if you haven't already {links in my left sidebar} and used keyword CBC48 when you upload!

Belli Challenge #46

It's Wednesday! That means Belli Challenge day! The Belli Challenge was created by Chris (Chrissyd723) to inspire us to use the *stuff* lying around our stamping spaces...those long forgotten goodies that we once had to have!! Anyone can play, so get out your scraps, stamps, and embellies!! This week is Belli Challenge #46 - Wrapping Paper! If you upload to SCS, use the keyword "CBC46" -- and be sure to link back to Chris's original post for a chance to win this week's challenge!

ETA: My card is up now as you can see! Thanks for your patience! It is a very simple one because the wrapping paper print was so detailed. I cut a panel to size and then stamped the sentiment on a tag I had in my stash, added ribbon across the top and put the tag on with some linen thread. An actual easy card - yay!

Be sure to visit the rest of the FABULOUS Belli Challenge Design Team and see their creations! Leave them a comment if you have time!

CBC45 - Christmas!

You know what they say...Wednesday again! heehee. Well that means it's time for the Belli Challenge! If you're not familiar with the challenge, belli is short for embellishment - each week our challenge founder, Chris, chooses an embellishment or theme for us to showcase. This week is #45 and the challenge is CHRISTMAS (keyword CBC45 on Splitcoast). You can visit Chris's blog for more details and to link up your creations for a chance to win a prize and have your project spotlighted on Chris's blog! The rest of the Belli DT has inspiration for you too, and their blog links are in my left sidebar.

For my card - I knew I had to get out my new stamp from Impression Obsession. I've wanted to order from them for a long time and I finally treated myself to a couple of images, which just arrived on Monday. I stamped this Holiday Margarita in Real Red and colored it with my Copics. I added some Celery Shimmerz over the top of the drink and some Opal Shimmerz over the top of the floating gifts. I stamped the image again in black, colored and cut out the tree and added it with dimensionals. Had to put on some little rhinestones of course, and a glittery star brad. Also have some red pearls as the holly berry garnish on the right. Chunky salt glitter on the rim and viola! You can see the full-size picture with more detail by clicking on it, above. {Yeah, it's blurry once again, sorry. We haven't seen sun in several days so I don't have my perfect photo spot - gotta make do with overcast skies and incandescent lighting. I will try to retake it today if the sun comes out!}

Bling It On, birthday style! Here you all are at my stop on today's blog hop, are you feeling the excitement? As my frequent readers know, I must have been a magpie in a former life; my most favorite things in papercrafting are those that SPARKLE - glitter, rhinestones, Shimmerz...anything to give that touch of bling. So show me YOUR bling on any type of paper creation and you could WIN! It's that shiny, glittery easy!

I combined my challenge to you with a challenge to ME -
Chris' weekly emBELLIshment challenge. This week is Belli #43 is for CORD! You can visit Chris's blog for more details and to link up your creations for a chance to win a prize! If you use QKD stamps on your project, you get to enter twice! For every blog challenge you do, you'll get one entry, so start hoppin'.

For my bling, I used two types of glittery paper of this card, I after I colored my cute little cootie I went over him with a glitter pen, and my shiny metal dots and cord round out my urge to sparkle for today! You can see all the glitz and glimmer if you click the photo to see the LARGE view {and it is way large, LOL}.

Oh, I almost forgot, and this is important!! Belli Challenge Wednesday - Thanksgiving!

Wednesday already?! LOL, I know, I always say that right? Well that means it's time for the Belli Challenge! If you're not familiar with the challenge, belli is short for embellishment - each week our challenge founder, Chris, chooses an embellishment or theme for us to showcase. This week is #40 and the challenge is THANKSGIVING (keyword CBC40 on Splitcoast).

This card uses one of the great new fall stamps from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. I love this pumpkin! Here is the full sheet if you're interested in checking it out - Fall & Winter 2008 Half Sheet.

The colors are Handsome Hunter, Black, White, Summer Sun, and some patterned paper from the LSS. This card uses the Pencil Over Ink technique, which is very simple, but really pops. It works best with solid or mostly-solid image stamps on dark colored cardstock. For those that aren't familiar with this technique, here's a quick overview -

Pencil Over Ink:

First, stamp your image in a good white ink. I have found that Palette New Canvas, Brilliance Moonlight White or SU's Craft White will all work, however I prefer the Palette because it dries fastest and doesn't need to be heat set. I can't STAND waiting around for things to dry!! Once it's dry, take your colored pencils and color over the image, letting some of the white around the edges still show through. You can use several different shades to give more depth, you don't have to do any special blending or anything like that. Just color. I have used both Prismacolor penciles and Koh-i-Noor pencils with good success. This card used the Koh-i-Noor.

That's all! Easy peasy, right? Yes! Go try! *grin*

Oh, but before you go, click on over and check out the gorgeous designs of the rest of the Belli Challenge Design team for this week: Holly Brown, Chris Dickinson, Danita Hollander, Shelly Koskinen, Joan Ervin, Rochelle Wick, Ceal Pritchett, and Lori Ames.

Shimmerz Ornaments!

Happy Wednesday! Time for the Belli Challenge again. This week is #37 and the challenge is PAINT (keyword CBC37). Well, that was a no-brainer, let me tell ya! When I hear "paint" I reach for the SHIMMERZ. Love love!

So, this is from the Splitcoast sketch challenge SC196 from last week. I used this fabulous ornament stamp from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps, colored with Koh-i-Noor pencils and Gamsol, then painted on Angel Wings Shimmerz on all three ornaments. Added some ribbon and hardware and viola! Be sure to link your creation to Chris' post for a chance to win! Also check out the other Belli girls' blogs for more painty fun - Holly, Courtney, Christi, Ceal, and Shelly!

Here is the original sketch (I flipped it, of course, LOL):

Supplies, etc.: Stamps - Ornament Trio from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. Paper - Old Olive, Bashful Blue and GP 110# white cardstock, Holiday Thyme patterned paper, Bazzill Bling. Ink - Palette Noir. Other - White velvet ribbon from American Crafts, Antique Copper hodegpodge ribbon slide, Cool Grey Copic marker, Koh-i-Noor pencils, stumps, Gamsol, Shimmerz Paint in Angel Wings, mini glue dots for the ribbon.

Metal Tag Pumpkin - CBC35

Wednesday again! Sorry I'm late, we had a hectic morning. Time for the Belli Challenge. If you're not familiar with the challenge, belli is short for embellishment - each week our challenge founder, Chris, chooses an embellishment for us to showcase. This week it is Metal Edge Tags. Feel free to play along, and remember, if you upload to SCS, use the keyword "CBC35".

This card uses another of my NEW fall stamps from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. Nicole is AMAZING - I love this pumpkin! Here is the full sheet if you're interested in checking it out - Fall & Winter 2008 Half Sheet.

{ETA - I reshot the picture, it is *much* better!!} The colors are Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie and black Sugar-Coated cardstock from Doodlebug. I stamped the image on the paper with Palette Noir, then onto the brass metal edge tag with black StazOn. I colored in the pumpkin with Koh-i-nor pencils and gamsol, and cut it out, then put it back over the StazOn layer. Lots of dimensionals here! I cut out and popped up the pumkin, then the tag, then the whole layer. I love dimensionals ~ can you tell? I added some green accents to the tag with a Copic marker. White satin and A*Muse organdy ribbon layered together to finish it off!

Check out the blogs of the other Belli Challenge Girls this week for more great metal tag ideas! Rochelle, Holly, Shelly, Chris, Christi, and Ceal!

Feel free to play along, and remember, if you upload to SCS, use the keyword "CBC33".

This card uses NEW fall stamps from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. Nicole keeps outdoing herself with amazing images each new release and these fun Halloween stamps are no exception! The little pumpkin man is so fun and if you look closely you can see the spider web inside the second "O" in BOO - COOL! The layout I used is from the September Verve OSW Challenge. Belli Challenge #30

I know I say this every week, but -- Wednesday already?! We've been busy the last few weeks so I guess time feels like it is going extra fast. Well, Wednesday, you know what that means; time for the Belli Challenge! Belli is short for embellishment, and each week we are given a new challenge to using up that stash! If you play along, add "CBC30" to your keywords at Splitcoast and link to Chris's blog post for a chance to win!

We are at Challenge #30, and this week calls for using COASTERS on your project. Mine is a page from a coaster book that our current design team made as a gift for Pamela {of Firecracker Designs by Pamela}, masterminded by Brenda. We each made a page, she made them into a book and sent them off. I hope she liked it!!

Check out the blogs of the other Belli Challenge Girls for more great coaster ideas! Holly, Rochelle, Lorie, Shelly, Chris, Christi, Ceal, Debby, and Danita.

What I used: All stamps from Firecracker Designs by Pamela, Soft Sky and GP 110# white cardstock, Copic markers, glitter, dimensionals, Versamark and Palette Noir ink, toothpick, paper snips.

Scallops and Beer - CBC29 MOJO43

Wednesday again and time for the Belli Challenge! This week's Belli Challenge {CBC29} is SCALLOPS! Here is my contribution. Stamps from DRS Designs. The colors are Summer Sun, White, Not Quite Navy and Bashful Blue. The ovals are the largest of my Nestabilities dies, and the straight scallop border was done with my small corner rounder from EK Success.

Colored the beer and did the highlight with Copic markers. Frost Lace stickles make up the foam. I did the sentiment with markers to pick out the words I wanted and line them up {you may recognize that as the golf sentiment - the whole thing reads "It takes a lot of balls to golf the way you do"}. Hard to tell with the lighting but I stamped the "It's Five-O'clock Somewhere" sentiment all over the Summer Sun layer and sponged the edges. This card uses Julee Tilman's MOJO43 sketch layout.

Here's a close up of the foam -
Check out the blogs of the other Belli Challenge Girls for more scalloped inspiration! Holly, Rochelle, Laurie, Shelly, Chris, Christi, Ceal and Danita.

Birthday Cutie - CBC27, HMSC5

Wednesday already?! You know what that means - time for the latest Belli Challenge - Splitcoast key word CBC27. This week's challenge was to create something with a birthday theme, in honor of Chris' {a.k.a. she who started it all!} birthday. Happy birthday!!

Luckily for me, I just happened to have some adorable new birthday stamps that needed to see some more ink! I used the new birthday girl set from Lilac City Designs - she will be released on August 4th.

I used the current H&M Stamps sketch challenge on this card - HMSC5 - nice and simple, just how I like 'em! I think it was just perfect for this image. This is another "outside of my comfort zone" card with all the bright colors, but hey, ya only live once. Patterned paper from DCWV, cardstock in Green Galore and Pumpkin Pie from Stampin' Up!. Hard to tell from the pic but the PP has green, orange and blue running through it, hence the color choices for the main image. I added the faux Dew Drops using mini glue dots.
