RoP Challenge #6 & Blog Candy Teaser...

Yay!!! It's the weekend! It's extra-special for me because today is Mania day!! Heather, Jess, Janna and I will be at Archiver's this afternoon & evening until they kick us out! I can't wait, I think I might be worse than my DS #1 waiting to go to Chuck E. Cheese, LOL. Well, it *has* been 6 weeks since our last girls' night so I guess I am entitled. :-)

But first, today's card! I think this is my favorite Whiff of Joy image. She's just so sweet! I made this card for the Roses on Paper Challenge #6 - Love & Friendship. The little sentiment is from Pink Cat Studio {I love Pink Cat - I buy mine at Limelight Papercrafts}, it was too naked without a LITTLE something there. I also used the Viva la Verve February #1 sketch on this - here it is:

My embossing twist is the Cuttlebugged Swiss Dots piece under the main image. I had to mirror-image flip this one, for some reason I didn't like the girl on the right side of the card. The pearls kinda blend in with the patterned paper, but they are there! I pulled the colors on this from the inspiration piece from this week's Twinkling Tuesday challenge.

I need to go finish packing up my stuff for tonight's stamp-a-thon, but before I got, a TEASER for you...

Tomorrow, I will be having some very cool blog candy, along with an overdue review of a very fun book I recently read. You know me, the only thing I love {almost as much} as stamping is reading!! But what does my stamping blog have to do with a book review, you may ask? I will give you a hint...a great {fiction} story detailing the adventures of a papercrafting genius, complete with drama, intrigue, laugh-out-loud jokes and CRAFTING TIPS. Oh yes! Check back tomorrow for the full reveal, and as I promised, *very good* blog candy. Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies for card: Stamps from Whiff of Joy and Pink Cat Studio. Pink Pirouette and Handsome Hunter c/s from Stampin' Up!, GP 110# white. Basic Grey Urban Prairie DP. Pink grosgrain from RABOM. Cuttlebug with Swiss Dots folder, Classic Oval nestabilities and tiny tags dies. Kaisercraft pearls in "Snow". Scalloped border punch from SU, Koh-i-Noor pencils, gamsol and blending stumps, Copic markers and dimensionals.

PPS Wednesday - Shake It Up, Baby!

Wednesday it is! This week at Pink Papery Studios the theme was Shaker Cards. These are sooo fun to make (easy too!). Here is a tutorial if you would like to check it out.

This sassy leprechaun girl is a new image from PPS for St. Patty's Day! There are sentiments and accessories too. {The shamrock I used on the shaker box is actually from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps, but there are a couple of shamrocks in the accessories set from Pink Papery Studios too}. I added the Word Art in Photoshop Elements.

She's a digi image, so after I printed her out I colored with Copic markers. Then I created my shaker box and filled it up with gold microbeads - that pot of gold if OVERFLOWING! Added some ribbon and bling and viola. I wanted to keep it simple, with the shaker box the focus of the card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

MTTSC11 - Twinkling Inspiration!

Well Happy Tuesday everyone! I am thrilled this morning because we don't have to GO anywhere! Ever since we got home from our awesome Florida vacation it's been one thing after another with the house and the kids, we just run run RUN all day! But today we don't have anywhere to be and it's a GOOD THING.

So anyway, Tuesday means Twinkle Time and another challenge from Miss Madelynn! This week I am the FEATURED STAMPER over at the Twinkling Tuesday blog, check it out! Instead of the usual sketch challenge, we have an INSPIRATION challenge for ya today! The scrumptious mug in the photo above is the inspiration. Could you not go for a yummy minty whipped coffee or chocolate drink right about now?!?

I combined this challenge with the fourth Viva la Verve sketch with a twist for February, which was to use acetate somewhere on your card, along with the sketch provided {below the card}. FUN! I went with acetate as the card base, colored the cupcake with Copic markers {of course}. Both of the patterned papers are from Basic Grey, the green is the new Porcelain - *swoon*. {Public Service Announcement - I buy all my Basic Grey 6x6 pads from Limelight Papercrafts. Kaisercraft Pearls and Rhinestones too. Mandy has THE BEST prices and she ships out really fast. Click, click, boom, right to your door and into the stamp room before DH even knows the mail came! Can't beat that!}.

And here is the Verve sketch I based it on:

So, head over to visit the rest of the Twinklettes and be sure to leave some love! {Links on the left sidebar}. I am excited to do the blog rounds myself and see everyone's interpretation of this inspiration piece! If you play along on SCS or PCP, use the keyword MTTSC11, and be sure to link up your creation over on the Twinkling Tuesday blog so we can all see it!

LPS Monday - A BIG Flower!

Monday again! Time to check in with the {Little Paper Shop}! Today I wanted to share a simple yet elegant card (well, I think so anyway!) featuring the {A Dream} stamp set. I have to say, this is one of my absoulte favorites from LPS, because it is so versatile and gorgeous. The wonderful sayings and flourishy script are a real hit.

Before I give all the details on the card I wanted to mention a few important things for today. The first is that there is a big spring sale going on right now at LPS! Yes, every stamp set in the web store has been discounted 10%, just because! That's a fabulous deal for you so head on over. Julia has wonderful customer service (and I know this for a fact because I was a customer long before I was on the design team!) and fabulous images. She has also just released a bunch of digital images that are a great value - and boy are they cute! I didn't get a chance to make a card using them yesterday, but I did print a bunch so you'll see them in action here soon. You can check them out here.

Lastly, be sure to visit the LPS blog today for a brand new sketch challenge! Woo hoo! It's another good one (and a very VERY classic look) I think you will all love it! I stalk the LPS blog so if you play along, be sure to link up so we can all see it! The keyword for uploads is LPSC04 this week. Head over to the blog right here.

Ok, now the details on my card (in case anyone actually read this far)! I used a piece of Almost Amethyst patterned paper from the retired Prints package. Faux stitching around the entire panel using the piercing template and Amethyst marker. I took this ginormous silk flower and painted it with Gold Glimmer Shimmerz Blingz (I buy mine at Limelight Papercrafts). I wrapped the gold and puple organdy ribbons around the center of the card in a quasi-messy way and then stuck the flower over the top so it would hang off a bit. I stamped the sentiment from {A Dream} on white cardstock and punched it out with a 1-3/8" circle punch. I punched a scallop from the Amethyst and added this as the flower's center. Pearls in the bottom corner and viola! Fast (for once), easy and gorgeous! The shimmeris really something on a flower that size in person and to have that beautiful sentiment right in the middle - yay!

Ok, that's all I have for today, but please go check out the rest of the LPS design team to see their Monday creations {links in my left sidebar}, and don't forget to SHOP!

Wishing for Spring?? It may be snowy and icy but we can still *think* Spring! Bring on the flowers! Use the provided sketch and incorporate FLOWERS into your project! They can be Primas, stamped flowers, flowered DP, etc...anything floral is OK with us!

Here is my card. I used the fabulous Lily & Billy Sweethearts set by Pink Cat Studio that I got from the Limelight Papercrafts webstore. I absolutely LOVE both Lily and Billy, they just could not be cuter, IMHO! After coloring with Copics I added some Stardust Stickles to Lily. I painted the large Prima with Hottie Pink Shimmerz and all the pearls in the center are from Kaiser {Limelight has the BEST prices on pearls and rhinestones and all the new Shimmerz colors in stock!}. Yum!

MTTSC10 - Thoughts of Spring

Tuesday today! Time to see what Miss Madelynn has in store for us for Twinkling Tuesday...

There it is! MTTSC10 - can you believe it's been ten weeks already??! Wow, time flies! This was a great sketch, clean and simple, and Madelynn said we could add a front image panel if we were so inclined, which I was. :)

My colors are Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal, Old Olive and Soft Sky. I took this gorgeous new image from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps {Paris Spring half sheet} and colored right on the rubber with my Stampin' Up! markers in order to ink it up. I did this because I wanted the tree parts to be Celery, the birds to be Apricot, and then when I was done I went back and added touches of Olive to the tree to give it a little more distinction. When I was satisfied with the coloring, I "huffed" onto the stamp to remoisten the ink and then stamped right on the white cardstock. I made a horizontal line for the ground and did the sky with my cloud template. The grass was made by sponging with Celery and Olive ink.

Woo hoo! Not nearly as complicated as I made it as I was creating, I have to say. *g* If you'd like to play along, we'd love to see your work! Be sure to link up your creation on the TT blog, and add the keyword "MTTSC10" when you upload to SCS or PCP so we can find your creations. Be sure to visit the rest of the Twinklettes {links on my left sidebar} for more fun with this sketch.

{Little Paper Shop} Preview - Day 2!

Happy Monday!! Is it a good one for you so far? Well if not, you'll be feeling better now, because I have something special for you! A sneak peek at another BRAND NEW stamp set from {Little Paper Shop}!! Isn't she sweet?? This little angel is absolutely Heaven Sent, don'tcha think? *g*

My colors for today's project are Bravo Burgundy, Barely Banana and Mellow Moss {Always Artichoke and So Saffron mats}. I stamped the little angel in Palette Noir and cut her out with my Labels 2 Nestabilities {in the Cuttlebug}. Then I colored her with Copic markers. The pretty "patterned" paper you see on the layers behind her was made using some of the gorgeous images from the Flourished Dove set. Aren't they beautiful? I sponged the edges of every layer with the same color ink to give some definition. The main images is on dimensionals. I went over all the Burgundy parts of the angel with a clear Spica glitter pen for a little bit of shine (hard to see in the photo though).

Don't forget, you can WIN one of these NEW sets from {Little Paper Shop}! Be sure to check out THIS post on the LPS blog and get your entries in for our Sketch Challenge! LPS Preview Day 1 - Hedgehog!

Hello out there in Blogland! Happy Sunday!! Since today is the 15th, it's time for the first previews for the {Little Paper Shop} February stamp releases! Woo hoo! This is my first release with LPS so I am extra-excited.

ALSO, it is the 15th of the month {did I say that already??} so it's time for the design team challenge. This month
Jessica challenged us to Bling It!, which is always my favorite challenge.

The first sneaks you get to see today are of this cutie-patootie Hedgehog! He's a party animal {heehee}. I made my card with Bazzill cardstock and Cloud 9 patterned paper. Yummy! I pulled the color palette from this awesome paper, then stamped the hedgie in Palette Noir and colored with my Copics. I had a spare piece of pre-Cuttlebugged white c/s so I punched out a piece highlighting the "4" and colored over it with the markers. These cute little cupcake buttons were a perfect accent and I colored the frosting part to match the paper too. My "bling" is in the form of these fun red pearls, such a hard decision...pearls or rhinestones, pearls or rhinestones. LOL!

Don't forget, you can WIN one of these new sets! Be sure to check out THIS post on the LPS blog and get your entries in for our Sketch Challenge! *You have until Monday, February 16th, 2009 at 8 AM CST to submit your entry for this challenge.* The winner will be announced here on the Blog on Monday at 9 AM CST for our Second Preview Day!

Didn't get to play along with the sketch this week? No problem! You will STILL have another chance to win! Leave a comment congratulating our sketch challenge winner and telling us what you are most looking forward to this month on tomorrow's LPS blog post and you'll be entered to win a set on Release Day as well! Lots of chances, so stay tuned tomorrow!

Oh, and make sure you visit the rest of the LPS design team for more sneak peeks and bling inspiration, including the
Official Blog! Have a great day ~ tune back tomorrow when we'll have a peek at the other new set being released this month!! Woo hoo!!! Tuesday the 17th is release day, so mark your calendars!

A Pile of Preschool Valentines!

Happy Valentine's Day!! I wanted to share with you the Valentines I made for DS #1's preschool class. I used this super cute robot from the Stampendous Love Botz set {from Limelight Papercrafts}. These tall and skinny cards are called "Scraplings" and were really easy, the finished size is 2" by 4.25". I scored the white paper, then cut it into 2" strips the "short" way. The red panel is 1.75" by 4" so I got lots out of one sheet of cardstock. Really hard to see in the picture but the red paper is dry embossed with lots of little hearts. Jami sent me one of these scraplings cards with some ribbon candy I won from her {thanks again Jami!}, which was the first time I saw these cuties! I knew they would be perfect for the kiddos.

I colored the robots with my Copics, cut them out and stuck them on with dimensionals. The funky cord/ribbon at the bottom is from my mom's stash, I thought it kinda looked like wires so it would add a fun touch to the cards. After I took the picture I added Tootsie Pops to the back of each one for a little treat.

Thanks for stopping by! Tomorrow is the FIRST PREVIEW of the new Little Paper Shop stamp set releases for February, so be sure to come back for a peek at that!!! Also, there is still time to enter this week's sketch challenge on the LPS blog for a chance to WIN one of the new release sets - check it out! Free stamps are a GOOD THING!

PPS Wednesdsay - Pink Bling!

Wow, it's Wednesday!! Time for another Pink Papery Studios project! This week's theme is PINK BLING in honor or Valentine's Day. :) Well you all know I love my bling, and what's a better color than pink anyway?!? So here is my creation featuring the adorable Cupcake image from Whimsey Studios (available at the Pink Papery Studios webstore). You can see my "sprinkles" have a little extra sparkle, as it were. Cardstock from Bazzill, patterned paper from Cloud 9. I colored the image with my Copics, double ribbon for a little snap (hard to tie it though!) and viola. Have I mentioned that my favorite thing about digistamps is that I can make them ANY SIZE I want? Woo hoo!

Short post today, we have a BUSY one, we just got back from Florida yesterday after 2 weeks (boo hoo, no more vacation!!) and today we have school and a doctor's appointment and all the fun catch-up I have from being gone as well. Be sure to visit the other PPS girls {links on my left sidebar} for more yummy use of bling, and ALSO, today is Belli Challenge day, I did not participate this week since I didn't have any DOILIES with me down in the fun & sun, but it is CBC54 - Doilies for the challenge this week, so visit Chris and the other Belli divas to see what they have for you!

See you tomorrow! Hope you have a great day!

MTTSC9 - Guest Twinkie!

Happy Twinkling Tuesday! Hope you're all having a good day! This is an autopost as today is the last day of our Florida vacation and visit with my mom and dad and we are on the way home to Wisconsin. I saw the weather last night and it said high of 55 degrees at home today though so I can live with that!! Wow, that is a serious heat wave for February. :)

But enough about me! You want to hear more about the sketch. Well if you click Twinkling Tuesday you will head over to the NEW TT blog run by Miss Madelynn and her mom Jessica {and see the backstory on the start of TT if you haven't yet}. This week was a special one because we have a guest sketch designer! Our very own TT darling Heather's daughter created our sketch this week {above} and we all played along, even Madelynn! How fun is that?! Here is mine:

Image is from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. I colored it in with my Copics and put it inside a Giga Scalloped Circle {no Nesties in FL!!}. The pink ribbon I put on the criss-cross is from Limelight Papercrafts -- I love this ribbon! I am almost out Mandy, so make sure you have plenty on hand for my upcoming order!! There are some new items on sale this week at Limelight so make sure you check out the deals. The patterned paper is from Cloud 9.

Be sure to visit all the other Twinklettes {links on my left sidebar}, and if you upload to SCS or PCP use the keyword "MTTSC9" and link back to the TT blog so we can all see your creations!

LPS Monday and Another Chance to WIN!

Happy Monday! Getting kind of a late start today, it's our last day in "paradise", we are flying home to the frozen tundra tomorrow morning. *sigh* All good things must end I guess. :)

Well Monday means another goodie from {Little Paper Shop}! You know how much I love my LPS stamps! This card uses the {Chirp} set, perfect for Valentine's Day! I pulled it together using one of the Taylored Expressions sketches, TECC52TV. I didn't bring my Nestabilities with me on vacation, but I did visit a little stamping store by my mom's house and used some of her punches to get a couple of ovals to play with while I was here. That worked out perfectly!

I stamped the birds onto my oval using Palette Noir. I made the clouds on that same oval using a cloud template that I made and a sponge. Once that was set I stamped the birds again on scratch paper, colored with Copics and cut them out. Added dimensionals and put them right over the top of the original stamped images.

Since this was my largest oval size, I had to cut another one the same size in half and pull it apart to make the mat underneath. I colored a couple of white silk flowers with the same color Copics and added the red glittered Primas that I had made awhile back using Lauren's tutorial. Popped them on next to the main image, stamped the sentiment and added some pink bling of course.

Ok, here's what you've been waiting for!! There is another fabulous sketch posted on the LPS blog {click} and if you make a card using that sketch you will be entered for a chance to win one of the BRAND NEW releases!! You have until Monday, February 16th at 8 AM to make a card and link it up to the post on the LPS blog. Gotta love free stamps!! Julia is so generous and there's some fun stuff coming out next week!!

Have a great day everyone!

Limelight Valentine's Day Project!

Hello everyone! TGIF! It is supposed to be warmer here today so I am hoping for pool weather for the kids. Gotta get it while we can - we head back to frigid Wisconsin next week, eek!! Although at least I'll have my normal camera back and all my links, let me say, you don't realize how much you NEED the computer until you're away from it. But again, I'll take the sunshine and nice temperatures while I can!

Well, in the meantime, I have something special for you today! Today is the big reveal of the Limelight Papercrafts Design Team's "big project" for the month. This month was to make a Valentine's Day gift and card for a friend. How FUN!! Also, going on now at the Limelight Papercrafts webstore, select Valentine's Day items are 20% off. Great prices to begin with, and now a SALE!! I will meet you over there, you can view all the important details here.

Here is my Gift contribution for the DT this month. The little mailbox is from the Target {Twenty-Five} Dollar spot. *wink*. I covered it with some black cardstock and then added papers from the Basic Grey Bittersweet 6x6 pad. LOVE THESE PAPERS!!! I added a bunch of flowers that I had painted with Pink Poinsettia and Pixie Dust Shimmerz Blingz (those are brads in the center of the flowers but it's hard to tell in the pictures of course). The stamps on the mailbox are actually from Little Paper Shop, I love these beautiful saying from the {A Dream} set. In the top picture you can see my rhinestone heart, that was so much fun! Hopefully you can tell it's a heart, heehee. Then some wide grosgrain around the flag and we're all set on the side!

Next is a view of just the card. Again, Bittersweet papers to match the mailbox. Also some Kaisercraft pink bling in the corners and my new favorite ribbon too {that awesome 5/8" textured yummyness Mandy carries!}! This image is from Stamping Bella -- it makes me smile and it looks DELICIOUS!! I colored it with varying shades of pink Copics.

And here is everything all opened up, so you can see the goodies inside! Some yummy chocolates, scented lip gloss in "Heavenly Vanilla" and some gorgeous stampin' goodies perfect for Valentine's Day! Shimmerz, pearls and flowers, oh my! heehee.
That's it for now! Hope you all have a great start to the weekend. Be sure to go over and see what the rest of the DT did: Becky, Ryann, Lee, Lorie, Jen Marie, Mandy, Lisa, and my sista guest designer this month, Kristen. See you tomorrow!

Twinkle On {and PPS Power of Three}!

Twinkling Tuesday again! Time for another TT sketch by Madelynn! Here it is - do you love it?! It's just my style. :) Use the keyword "MTTSC*" when you upload to SCS and PCP - and click Madelynn's name to go to the NEW Twinkling Tuesday blog!! Yep, she's got her own spot now, how fun is that? You will also be able to see the sketch and the "featured stamper" card there every week, so be sure to check it out!

I have to apologize in advance for all my photos from the last few days, and through mid-next week. I am at my parents' house and I don't have my "good" camera for taking pictures of my cards, so they are not nearly as nice as usual. Oh well, if that is the trade off for beach & pool weather in January, I think I'll take it!

I am also late late late on LAST week's Pink Papery design team challenge - The Power of Three! We were traveling and I finally got it done and ready. TOMORROW there will be a new PPS challenge, stop by the
Official PPS blog for more info on the weekly challenges!

So - here's my contribution to both of those challenges! The owl is from
Pink Papery Studios and the sentiment is from Little Paper Shop. Fun fun!

You can see the other Twinklettes' blog links in my left side bar, check them out for more inspiration using this FABULOUS sketch, and don't forget to leave some love! The PPS girls are over there too, and although this card is from LAST week's challenge, they still have lots of good stuff to share the rest of the week too. :) See you tomorrow for PPS Wednesday and the Belli Challenge too! Boy it's a busy stampin' week!

Last thing, the FABULOUS Jessica has some blog candy this week! Make sure you swing by to enter, and here are the rules..

Here are the rules for Jessica's "Blog-iversary" Blog Candy:

1.) You must create a card using this sketch to be eligible to win the candy.
