Bugaboo Stamps' Holiday Critter Chaos - Day 7

I've had a pile of cards sitting here for days, just waiting to be shared. I got a light box from my amazing family for Christmas, and have been holding off on photos so I could try it out! Hubby put it together for me last night, so I'm working to get caught up on posting now!

I made a card for Bugaboo Stamps week-long challenge - Holiday Critter Chaos. I love playing along in Bugaboo's challenges - they always have fun-yet-straightforward themes to get the creativity flowing.

Day 7 is "Keep it Simple" and use their cutie patootie penguin freebie in your project. Here's my take, featuring an old Mojo Monday sketch and traditional Christmas colors. The image is from Bugaboo, the "Merry" sentiment is from a clear stamp set by Time For Tea Designs called Say Anything, which I cut out with my Scan N Cut after stamping. The sentiment tile is from KI Memories. Embossing folder is Cuttlebug/Provo, the circle die is from Polkadoodles - my favorite circles: Fanciful Circles nested die set. Patterned paper is from Lawn Fawn. Colored with Copics and cut with my Scan N Cut. Grosgrain from Ribbons and Bows Oh My! - best ribbon buys ever!

Here's the challenge info - they left it open until NYE this year - thank you so much!! Gives me a chance to get everything posted! More cards coming soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

I will be getting caught up on blog posts now, even though I'm sorry to say some of the challenges are past. You may have seen my projects on the challenge blogs if you were following along, I MADE them all, I just had some major unplugged time and didn't get any blogging of my own done. Sheesh! Hopefully everyone hasn't given up on me....

Well I am getting back into the swing of things with a fun project created for Craft Rocket. This is challenge #6, with a theme of "Happy Anything". Aud Sentiments #146: Thank You

Happy New Year!

It's always fun to start a new year with a clean slate. Did you make any New Year's Resolutions? Did you get lots of new crafty goodies you can't wait to try out?

With this new year, Aud Sentiments is moving in a new direction. We are making some changes to our challenges. We will continue to host challenges ever two weeks, with a sentiment as part of the project. The biggest change is that the DT will be showcasing projects with more variety. Of course we will still be making cards, but with more folds, shapes and variety of techniques used. We hope that you, our challenge participants, will join us in reaching beyond your comfort zone to make projects that really show us your crafty side!

The current challenge is sponsored by Imagine That! Digis by Kris! As always, fantastic and generous prizes are up for grabs!

Here is my project, featuring Hedgehog Greetings. This sweet little hedgie guy is too perfect for a Thank You project. I love his face!

This project follows the current Mojo Monday sketch (#403). I used a rainbow of colors on this card from the Fun Stampers Journey Challenge (#5: Colors) to show some versatility and finally play with this color palette. If you check the photo inspiration from Bugaboo this week you'll SEE this card in the picture too! I loved it, what a nice piece they chose for us to play with!

And a close-up to show a little of the color and dimension. I used Diamond stickles on the dots of the letters. A line of blue rhinestones per the sketch finish this off with tons of glitz and glam. Say "I love you" in STYLE!

Kitty Bee Designs: June Spotlight

Hello everyone, and WELCOME to the weekend! I think it's almost impossible not to be happy on a sunny summer Saturday! I'm here this morning with my VERY FIRST monthly spotlight as a new member of the fantastic Kitty Bee Designs DT. I'm so excited!

I can't even TELL you how much I adore this sweet bunny. I really can't! The second I saw him, I had so many ideas. This was the first one, with him reaching for the stars and having some fun bling and sparkle taking him up, up & away! The sentiment is from Verve.

I used Mojo Monday #402 for this little guy, and some Red, White & Blue inspiration from the DRS Designs challenge. Here are the swatches:

I colored him up with Copics (C00, C1, R24, B36), and cut all my circles with Nestabilities. The paper is from an old Target Dollar Spot grab, along with Stampin' Up! cardstocks. Cuttlebug embossing forlder for the background, some nesting star punches, Flag dies from Verve, a few sequins, a LOT of foam tape, and viola! The sweetest lil red, white & blue guy around!

Challenges for today:
Send A Smile 4 Kids - Animal Cards 4 Kids (1 of 2)
Cut It Up - #73 Stars AND Stripes (and a Die Cut)
DRS Designs - #179: Inspired By Color
Art Impressions Challenge - #162: Red, White and Blue (1 of 2)
Paper Shelter - #208: Make It Digital (2 of 3)

Sensational Sunday with Prickley Pear!

Good morning and welcome to the Loves Rubberstamps weekly Sensational Sunday Blog Hop! The Design Team has created some gorgeous projects for your Inspiration. Check out each link and leave a comment. If you get lost along the way, each stop will have a full list of links.

One of the Design Team posts is the hop's Sensational Sunday Sweet Spot and a name will be drawn from that list of comments to be in a monthly drawing for a $20 Loves Rubberstamps Gift Voucher! We will draw the winner of the Voucher the 1st Sunday of each month from all the comments left on the design team blogs! Remember, you have until 8:00 pm CST Saturday to leave your comments!

Here is my creation for today! I have always been a huge fan of Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps, and since they are carried in the Loves Rubberstamps store - well, what a great excuse to pull them out and play!

The photo didn't really show the background and the glitter shine I added to all the silhouette flowers that weren't colored with Copics, so I took another that was zoomed in to the right side of the image to show a little bit of that sparkle.

Supplies:
Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps - Floral Garden
Copic Markers (love 'em ALL!)
Zig Clear Glitter Marker
Bo Bunny Paper
Blending Cardstock
Memento Ink
Button
Mono Multi (of course!)
Red Liner Tape
Dimensional Foam Dots
DCWV Glitter Stack scraps

I had some awesome inspiration for this card - I used the current Mojo Monday sketch (#396) after I flipped it on its side, along with the color challenge from the Color Throwdown this week (#341). Here are the pieces:

Fun, right? These are my two favorite challenge types, so I'm just thrilled to get them in this week during my stampin' sanity time!

Loves Rubberstamps Sensational Sunday Blog Hop List:
Laura Love - Loves Rubberstamps Blog
Dangina Martinez
Lydia Evans - Video Designer
Loves Rubberstamps Store

A few great challenges for this card!
Verve May Inspiration Challenge - Let It Bloom
Jo's Scrap Shack - FFC#87: Anything Goes

Creative Knockouts #88: Distress It!

Good morning Bloglandia! I hope everyone's Thursdays are off to a fantastic start. This morning I want to share (what I think is...) a beautiful card for this week's Creative Knockouts (#88) where the challenge is....Distress It!  This week's sponsor is Lacy Sunshine, and oh yes, there is a prize to be won!

So, those who know me, know that I really like distressing in theory...but actually DOING it kinda freaks me out. I mean, I just colored this amazing image and spent some time doing so...now I have to mess it up?! eek!

(I guess that means it's a good "challenge" for me then!?) ;)

But...I DID IT! hehe. Here is my contribution to today, featuring Rory: Life is Grand. Lacy Sunshine has a lot of really fabulous images, I had trouble choosing just one to work with today! I guess having a wish list is a good thing, right?

I printed Rory and colored with Copics. I used my Tonic hand held edge distresser dealie to rough up the edges of most of these papers. I chose papers from Basic Grey that had a bit of a distressed look to the pattern in them. To give my sentiment piece that "dropped in a puddle" look I placed a few drops of different Copic reinker fluid onto the paper, and then added drops of the blender solution on top! I used a sponge to push it around a bit and help redistribute the color. I stamped the sentiments in black Memento ink right over the top.

Even after all of my disclaimers, I have to say I was very, VERY pleased with how this card turned out. I think it has a nice distressed feel, while still showcasing the work of coloring and of course showing how sweet this little Rory is!

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch for this lovely (Mojo396). This is a great sketch, and really versatile. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to play along. I have another project idea too if I get a few free minutes today...

Challenges:

613 Avenue Create - #122: Anything Goes with optional "Feminine"
Inspiration Destination - #32: Anything Goes
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - #9: Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Whimsy Inspirations challenge - #82: Colouring an Image (2 of 3)
Little Red Wagon - #288: Distress It

That's it for me today! Don't forget to swing over to the Creative Knockouts blog to link up your distressed projects for your chance to win with Lacy Sunshine! My DT sisters have created some beautiful inspiration, so leave them some love too!

I'll be back here tomorrow with a new challenge from Simply Papercraft. Stamp happy!

Wags 'N Whiskers: Banner Up!

Good morning everyone! Happy Friday! I know I've been very quiet - my mom and dad came for a visit...I haven't seen them since early Fall so it had been WAY too long. They came for just under a week (not long enough!) and we were very busy visiting and all kinds of fun things. Phew! What a whirlwind. They left yesterday afternoon - that was pretty rough. :( But I'll see them this summer so it won't be nearly as long as last time. And it's not winter! Yay!

Today we are bringing you a new challenge over at Wags 'n Whiskers. This challenge is for Banners & Bunting. Let's see those great dies and shapes on your lovely creations! Don't forget, there are FREE STAMPS up for grabs! Link up on the W'nW blog post!

Here is my contribution, featuring Super Ryan:

Isn't he a doll? Love it! I used this week's Mojo Monday (Mojo Monday #395) for my sketch, and I pulled the colors from the House of Cards challenge. The Mojo was a Tall & Skinny, which is NOT my forte, but because it's outside my comfort zone, of course I had to try it! The House of Cards colors were perfect for a bright, fun, boy card. I did not actually enter the challenge though, because my post didn't go live until May 1st. Oops! Still, I am pleased I chose these colors for Mr. Ryan! Here is my inspiration:

This card is 4.25" x 7". I don't have those AWESOME banner dies yet that seem to be popping up everywhere, so I had to create my own banner piece. Ryan is colored with various Copic markers. For some reason my photo just wanted to be dark, but the colors are very bring in person. The stars in the upper corner are brads. I substituted a punched star for the tag piece on the sketch.

Challenges:
Inspiration Destination - #31: Anything Goes
Sister Act - #104: Anything Goes

That's it for me today! Make sure you link up your creations on the blog for a chance to win! I'll see you back here on SUNDAY with a brand new creation! Stamp happy!
