Dancing Husky!

Happy Wednesday! I know it's Belli Challenge Day today but mine won't be up until tomorrow. Check back for it then, it's a good one this week, jumbo brads or eyelets. You know I love my hardware! Sorry about that! I am getting back on track here though, slowly but surely. By the end of the week I will be caught up and hopefully feeling better!

Today's card is one I made with some of my newer stamps from Jessica Lynn Original. This one features Dancing Dogs - Husky and True Love & Wedding Words. I think that little dog is adorable! And the wedding words, I have used that set five times in the last two months, which is almost unheard of for me for just ONE stamp set!

I stamped Mr. Husky with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with colored pencils and Gamsol using blending stumps. I did the highlight with Copic markers. I pulled the colors from this Basic Grey Marrakech paper - Baja Breeze and Tangerine Tango. The horizontal panel was made using the Scor-Pal - I love doing this! Fast, cheap and easy. ;-) The clear baubles have Tangerine punchies underneath them to change the color - you can also color on them with Copics if you have the right color marker!

Thanks for stopping by - see you tomorrow!

Try It Out Tuesday #16 - Halfsies!

Welcome to another Try It Out Tuesday - this is #16! The last Tuesday in April, boy the month has flown by! This week Design Team leader Suzanne Dean challenged us to "Half It". You can only use part of your stamped image on your project this week, not the whole thing!!! All that time every night agonizing over finding JUST the perfect shape and EXACTLY the right size for the image -- and she makes us cut 'em up?!? LOL. Challenging - but MUCH fun; I love being made to think outside of my box.

Of course I reached for one of my Anki's Sweethearts at SCACD to make today's challenge card. This is Julia with Flowers. She has the sweetest little dress on. Now you know I love my boys to death and wouldn't trade them for anything, but I am sometimes sad to miss out on the opportunity to dress a daughter in GIRLY GIRL dresses and take her out on the town, heehee. I suppose I will have to settle for coloring and accessorizing my images, huh? I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics, then went through and added some highlighting with the white gel pen. Colors are Baja Breeze, Black, and Pretty in Pink.

I know I have mentioned this before, but it's such a good deal that it bears repeating. If you like these Anki's Sweethearts as much as I do, check out the major deal that Susana has on these fun images. But the "bundle" of all 10 together for only $50. That's a big discount off the individual prices, so In the end that just amounts to free rubbah. mmm...free rubbah!

Ok, what else? After I stamped and colored, I cut out the image and mats with Square Nestabilities. Then I colored some paper flowers with coordinating Copic colors and added them to the corner. I also added some Kaisercraft Pearls in Snow on the flower and in the corner. Border punch along the bottom edges, ribbons from the big "bag-o-ribbon" and viola!

Check out the SCACD store blog today for everyone's TIOT #16 projects! If you play along with us, be sure to use the keyword TIOT when you upload so we can find your project. Individual links to the rest of the SCACD Divas are on my left sidebar. Thanks for stopping by today!

LPSC13 - Sketch Challenge!

Happy Monday! Well a new week and hopefully a better one than last week, right? Right! Keep your fingers crossed at least. :-)

You know Monday means a {Little Paper Shop} showcase! This week's challenge on the LPS Blog is a sketch challenge - my favorite. I was thrilled to see this sketch, I think it's classic yet versatile. I hope you will play along with us! If you do, there's a chance to win TWO free digi stamps of your choice from LPS so check out the details over on the store blog and link up your creation there. You have until Sunday, May 3rd at 11:59 CST to enter the sketch challenge. The digis are an amazing deal; fabulous images, great quality, low price -- and free is even better, right? Here's my creation using this sketch - uploading keyword at all the usual cyberspace suspects is LPSC13.

I used one of the LPS digis as the main image for this card - this is Jena Baking. I never met a cupcake I didn't like so this little sweetie is right up my alley! The sentiment is from one of the new April releases - {Growing Old}. I love this sentiment set, such cute and fun sayings, I have found myself reaching for it often since it arrived {even before I was allowed to use it, LOL} and I have a feeling it will be one of those "always out on the table" sets for me.

In addition to this AWESOME sketch challenge and yet another opportunity to win prizes this month, the LPS Birthday celebration just got even BETTER! It's not over yet!

That's right! As our gift to you, the {
Little Paper Shop} is having a HUGE Birthday Blast SALE, with most sets marked down 10% to 75% OFF! This is our biggest and best sale ever, and runs through April 30th or while supplies last. We want April to go out with some b-day fireworks as we have really appreciated you joining us in our month-long birthday celebration! Thank you for all of your comments, congratulations, and participation in our challenges and contests! We've loved having you and will be back in May to start off our 2nd year of business with sets that will WOW you...can't wait!

Happy shopping and enjoy this week's challenge!

Catherine Says Get Well Soon

Happy Saturday! Today's card features one of my favorite new images - Catherine the Vet from Anki's Sweethearts at SCACD. I love her little puppy with the bandaid. As soon as I saw her she went right in my cart - NO QUESTION about that one!!

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics, then went through and added some highlighting with the white gel pen. The colors I chose are Real Red, black, and Basic Grey. I cut her out with Labels 2 Nestabilities. Since I used the largest die to cut the image, I went back and cut another panel the same size from Basic Grey cardstock, cut it in half and adhered it to the image to show on the top and bottom to be my mat. I added it to the card base with dimensionals. I hand-doodled the faux stitching on the tag and image. The sentiment is from {Little Paper Shop}. Kaisercraft rhinestones in the corners {of course!} and she was finally ready to go. You know I love my rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by -- have a great day!

I See You, Shy Bear!

Welcome, Thursday! Today I thought I would share a card that I made using another one of my great new images from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design store. This is one of the Shy Bears from I Brake For Stamps called Carousel Horse Shy Bear. I was so excited when Susana sent him to me!! Because, aside from the obvious reason that he is SO adorable, sweet and fun to color; my DS #1 is absolutely in love with carousels -- and he loves to stamp with me. So we stamped together yesterday and both colored in this shy little bear and his fancy carousel horse. :)

I stamped the main image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copic markers. This is a beautifully detailed stamp so it really was fun to color. The shading of the image itself really helps you decide where to lay down color. After coloring I went through and added some highlighting with the white gel pen. One of my favorite coloring tools! Hard to see but there is Gold Glimmer Shimmerz Blingz on the saddle.

I cut the image panel using Labels 1 Nestabilities in my Cuttlebug. After I cut the red mat piece to size I used the largest corner rounder from EK Success to round off the corners to let the mat "flow" with the curly sides of the nesties. Patterned paper from DCWV Asian Stack, sentiment from {Little Paper Shop}.

If you have time, swing by the SCACD Papercraft Planet page and chat with us! There is still time to enter April's sketch with a twist challenge contest {details on PCP} for a chance to win a stamp of your choice from the store! Just upload your project to PCP with the keyword SCACD. Easy!! Here is mine if you are looking a little inspiration.

Oh yes, also there is a fabuloso new tutorial up on the SCACD store blog today - corner bookmarks by Aud. SO cool, I can't wait to make one of my own. Thanks for stopping by today!

A Crazy Day

We have had a little bit of family & household upheaval and craziness yesterday and today so I don't have a card to share today. But I do have one I'm finishing up for tomorrow - stay tuned for a sample from the Shy Bears line at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design - they are SO sweet!! See you then. :)

Try It Out Tuesday #15 - Boys Can Bling!

Happy Tuesday! You may remember that over at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, Tuesday is the design team challenge day - Try It Out Tuesday {uploading keyword TIOT}. This week DT coordinator Suzanne Dean challenged us to Bling It! You know I am always up for a good bling challenge, so here is my contribution:

I used another one of my fabulous Anki's Sweethearts from SCACD. This is Isac with Skateboard. Isn't he adorable?! I have two boys so I loves me a good cute-but-still-boyish image! Don't forget that Susana has a great deal on these fun images - buy the "bundle" of all 10 together and you save $16.50. That's like getting 2.5 stamps for free -- and free is good!!

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him with Copics {of course!}. I went through and added some highlighting with the white gel pen after I had him all ready to go. The cardstock colors are More Mustard, Really Rust and Brocade Blue. Various papers from the Basic Grey scrap bin {thanks Heather!!!} to finish off the layers. I did the rounded panel with Nestabilities. Kaisercraft rhinestones along the side and viola! Plenty of bling but still made for a boy - the best of both worlds. I think one of my DS #1's friends will probably be getting this one as a birthday card, actually. ;-)

Thanks for stopping by today! Sale alerts for the store - all SMIRKS are still 50% off, and individual bottles of Flock are 25% off!! Don't forget to visit the SCACD store blog, Follow Your Heart, to see everyone's TIOT creations all in one spot! You can also visit the individual blogs by clicking the links on my left sidebar. Alright! Welcome to Preview Day #1 for April's {Little Paper Shop} releases. We have some great stuff coming your way on release day, which is Tuesday, April 21st. Julia has outdone herself!!!

This set is called {Forest Critters} and includes some adorable animals, trees, and other forest findings. I kept today's card clean & simple, the springy colors on this one are Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery (patterned paper from Basic Grey).

Also, a fun announcement from LPS today - Jessie Rone is joining us this quarter as our Guest Designer!!! She will be with us from April through June and if you're not familiar with her work {yeah right!} you're missing out!

**Note that this is my second post today! Scroll down to see my latest creation using Anki's Sweethearts from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design!**

Sweet Little Julia

Don't you just love the weekend!? Today is our last day in Colorado, we will start heading for home at some point today and be home tomorrow {barring any freak spring snowstorms of course, LOL}. Do you miss me?! I miss all of you!! I know I had lots of auto-posts but haven't gotten to the blogs and PCP pages and comments and such. I will start catching up when we get home though!

Today I thought I would share this sweet little Julia card I made. The image is called Young Julia with Purse and it is an Anki's Sweethearts for SCACD image. You can only get her at Susana's store! I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her with Copics {big surprise there huh?}. It might sound kinda dumb, but getting Copic markers has brought back my love of coloring! I do like using watercolors still, and also pencils and Gamsol but the Copics are my favorite.

So, I colored her with the Copics and added some highlighting with the white gel pen. I colored a bunch of white flowers gray to go along with my color scheme and added Kaisercraft Pearls in Blush to the centers. I cut her out with Petite Oval Nestabilities and made the mats the same way. A little bit of ribbon, a metal embellishment tag from my stash and she's ready to go!

**There are two blog posts {two cards!!} today so make sure you catch both of them!!**

Shopping Diva Melanie!

Good morning! Today I have a card to share that I created using this fun Melanie image {Rubber Romance} from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her with Copics. The paper is from Basic Grey's LilyKate and I paper pieced the shopping bags using the same patterned paper. I didn't want to make this card too fussy because I think the image really stands on its own - it's such a cool one, plus it is a pretty good size and I didn't want to have it lost in a sea of flowers or something! :-)

Be sure to visit the SCACD store blog today, as the multi-talented Christine has a rockin' new tutorial up on making mini pizza boxes - SO stinkin' cute!! How fun would those be for a little gift set?! Thanks for the great ideas Christine!

We are still on vacation {so this is an auto-post} but I will be back this weekend and will be catching up on blogs and e-mail so if you've been waiting to hear from me, it will be soon, I promise! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Try It Out Tuesday #14 - Sketchy Colors

Hello and welcome to Try it out Tuesday #14 from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! This week design team leader Suzanne Dean challenged us to make a card using a sketch challenge AND a color challenge! The sketch is above, and the colors are pink, chocolate and cream. Yummy!! Here is my creation:

I chose to use Alicia for my project, she was just calling to me with this color combination! I like the sketch Suzanne created a lot, it works well for the size of this adorable Anki's Sweethearts images. Did you know that there is a "bundle" of these images - where if you purchase all 10 together in the bundle you save $16.50?? That's like getting 2.5 stamps for free!! Don't you love free?

I stamped Alicia with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, colored her with Copic markers and added some highlights using the white gel pen {must have!}. I used Petite Oval Nestabilities to cut her out and create some mats for the main image {it's on dimensionals}. After she was all set in place on my card I went back over the "fuzzy" areas of her cape using a Quickie Glue pen and then added some white Doodlebug Crushed Velvet Flock. So she really has a fuzzy winter cape! I love it! Chocolate brads in the upper right corner finish it off!

You can see all the TIOT projects on the SCACD store blog, or on everyone's individual blogs {links on my left sidebar}. If you upload your projects, use the keyword TIOT so we can find them all!

Thanks for stopping by today! It is also Twinkling Tuesday, but I am not participating due to being on vacation! Check out the blogs of the other Twinklettes though, I'm sure they have some great projects to share with this week's sketch! Today's keyword for that challenge is MTTSC18.

A Mother's Love & A Challenge

Happy Monday! Time for some inspiration from the {Little Paper Shop}!! I was feeling spring-ish when I made this card so I chose some nice soft colors for this one. The sentiment is from {Bound by the Heart}, a fabulous mix-and-match sentiment set highlighting family and love. It's one of my new favorites!! The tree and birds are from {Chirp}, which is just a classic set, I reach for it all the time. Great to use with sentiment sets like this one.

A pretty simple card today but I just had to show off that sentiment! This is an auto-post as DH and I are on vacation {no kids} so I am sure I am missing them by now!

Don't forget to check out the LPS blog today for this week's challenge! It's a Color Challenge - So Saffron, Perfect Plum, and Certainly Celery. Yummy and springy!!! The keyword for uploading is LPSC11 and a winner will be chosen at random from those who participate to receive a three free digital images! You must link your project to the LPS blog post to be eligible. That is a great prize don't you think?! So what are you waiting for??

Beautiful Emilia!

Yay, it's Saturday!! I have another card from the Anki's Sweethearts for SCACD stamp line to share with you today, this one is Emilia with Heart. Seriously! Do you not want to just cuddle her? She's just so sweet. I love the Anki stamps! Did you know that Anki's Sweethearts has its own PCP group? Come join us!

I stamped my Emilia with Heart image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with my Copics. I paper pieced the heart in the background with this pretty Basic Grey paper. I used the same pattern of designer paper on the top half of the card's background, snipping off the corners with the ticket corner punch so I could add some red Kaisercraft rhinestones. After I had everything assembled and added the polka dot ribbon, it didn't look "done" to me. I dug through my stash and pulled out some white paper flowers and tinted them to match the color scheme I had chosen for this card. Added some more rhinestones in the center -- THEN it looked done. :-)

Hope you have a wonderful day! Don't forget to head over to the SCACD store blog, Follow Your Heart, to see today's puzzle piece reveal for the big Elisabeth Bell blog candy!! There is still time to enter to win too so don't miss out!

Sassafras on Thursday!

Happy Thursday to you! I hope you're having a good one! I am running around trying to get everything finalized so we can leave for Colorado tomorrow - eek! It will be my first trip away from DS #2 and only my second time away from DS #1 for more than a day so it's kinda sad - but DH and I are excited to be "getting away"!

I have a new project to share with you today, made with this ADORABLE Sassafras Fairy from Faerie Song Art Stamps from SCACD. Oh my, I just LOVE her! What do you think? She is one of the images that Susana chose for me for this month and she must be a mind reader because I had a blast working with this image. I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her with Copics. I used Classic Oval Nestabilities to cut her out, along with a mat. She's popped up on dimensionals over the paper from Basic Grey and the cardstock colors are Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose and Green Galore. Her wings are painted with Shimmerz Blingz in Pixie Dust (haha I thought that was appropriate!). This card used TECC62 for the sketch and is 5.25" square to accommodate the sketch layout with my image.

Last thing - don't forget to head over to the SCACD store blog, Follow Your Heart for today's Elisabeth Bell puzzle piece reveal! And if you haven't already, sign up for the blog candy, it's faaaaabulous!

Try It Out Tuesday #13 & MTTSC17 - Spring with Catherine

Spring is here for this week's Try it out Tuesday! Suzanne challenged us to create a Spring or Easter card. Well this Young Catherine with Friends from Anki's Sweethearts at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design and she just SCREAMS Spring to me with those new baby chicks. Lucky me, this week's Twinkling Tuesday Challenge was "In With The Old" - use a stamp you haven't used before. Since these Anki's are new to me it seemed like a good fit! {ok, I cheated a little; but I only used it once before because it was the first Anki I got and it was perfect for the other challenge today - so sue me}.

I also incorporated April's Sketch Challenge with a Twist, posted on the PCP page for SCACD. The sketch is there, and the twist was to include LOTS of embellishments. I didn't go TOO crazy but I can't turn away a good embellishment so this was a lot of fun. I stamped Catherine with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copic markers. I added some highlights with the white gel pen. I *love* the Copic marker blue jeans bundle - perfect jeans every time! Added some paper piercing and a few rhinestones and she's all set!

I hope you all decide to play along with this week's challengees, as well as the April sketch with a twist for SCACD. Your keyword for Twinkling Tuesday is MTTSC17 and the keyword for Try it out Tuesday is TIOT. Be sure to check out all the other amazing DT blogs for more inspiration - all the links are on my left sidebar. Happy Tuesday!

TECC61 - Catherine with Butterfly

Good morning! Aah the weekend is finally here! My DH told me last night that it is supposed to snow again later. I hate the cold and snow so I thought I would post this sweet Catherine with Butterfly card from Anki's Sweethearts for SCACD to put me in a spring kinda mood.

If you haven't checked out Susana's Store yet, you should. In addition to these oh-so-cute Anki's Sweethearts stamps, she's got other rubber, the NEW Nestabilities and Impressibilities, Copic bundles, Shimmerz, Glitter Dots (I love these), KaiserCraft embellies, and lots more. And she ships FAST. You know I am a customer first, and I was really happy with my orders from Susana.

For the layout of this card I used last week's TECC61 sketch. The image is colored with Copics. Patterned paper from Basic Grey's LilyKate. The yellow-green flower and the entire Cuttlebugged background panel are painted with Shimmerz, although I didn't get the shine in the photo, not enough light. The colors are Brocade Blue and Pink Poinsettia.

Thanks for stopping by today! Heather and I and possibly Jessica are going to ScrapMania tonight so wish us speedy stamping to get LOTS done!
