Wow, finally! What a week....but now: HELLO WEEKEND, stamping friends!! We've been waiting for today for awhile...WELCOME to the JessicaLynnOriginal.com CUSTOM STAMP FEATURE and inspirational blog hop. My custom stamp is the birds on the branch. I wanted a really quick, sketchy look to some little birds so I could do some fun techniques with watercolor, sprays (as above) and other more "outside my normal zone" projects. I thought this would be so fun for that, so my son and I spent some time searching for an example photo so Jessica could see into our thought process. She came up with this sweet image, and it's been so much fun for us to play!

It's JessicaLynnOriginal's 11th Anniversary!

Happy Tuesday stamping friends!

Today I have something special to share with you. This week marks the ELEVENTH anniversary of JessicaLynnOriginal.com. I can't believe it's been that long! I was on her very first Design Team way back when, so I think I am especially impressed by her wonderful run in creating and designing stamps!

To celebrate, there is a NEW Brentwood Owl digital stamp freebie "Brentwood Owl - Singing in the Rain", and I have featured him here on my spotlight card today.  Brentwood is of COURSE my favorite character or image type from Jessica's large and diverse collection, and this one is tons of fun just like the others! Be sure to get over to the store and grab him during the Anniversary Week while he is still free!   
 

I took another photo of this card, tipped at a bit of an angle so you can (hopefully) see the detail I added after I colored him up with my Copic markers. Parts of his umbrella, his rain slicker, and spots along the grass have been gone over with a glaze that dries shiny, so it looks like they are wet (or a shiny vinyl material, like the rain slicker). I just HAD to get a wet look going for this card, with this wonderful umbrella feature...to really make it POP! As you can see there is still sunshine on a cloudy day here on my blog!

Spring Coffee Lover's Blog Hop with JessicaLynnOriginal.com

Happy Wednesday! I have been working nonstop for 5 days straight, long days traveling and getting caught up on work after the world's worst norovirus tore through my entire family. I'm getting caught up on crafting (yay!) and blogging...it's a process but I'll get a few up at least!

For this post, I have a very FUN card to share as my second post of the day. I played along with the HUGE Spring 2016 Coffee Lover's blog hop going on now. I have used this great image on my project today, it's called Brentwood Owl - I Need More Coffee. TOO CUTE for words!!

Of COURSE, this is a spring-and-coffee themed card, to match the hop. I used my favorite embossed cloud background, green grass and perky spring colors for the project itself. Can you see the little bit of glitter on that delicious steam wafting from his mug!?

Isn't this FUN?! I made the jam jar into a sequin shaker card today, using acetate sheets and foam tape to create the box behind the main image layer. I filled it with several different colors of sequins. The top of the jar is colored with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils/Gamsol. The very center where I stamped the sentiment is paper pieced. I'm entering this card into the Open Minded Crafting Fun #2 Challenge - Love/Valentine.

I also made a card with the coffee cup image from this set last week. It's already been blogged (you can scroll down for more info) but I thought I'd repost it here too for those who want to see all these great showcase cards in one place!

I adore this coffee cup stamp. Expect to see a lot of it from me in the future!!

We are also featuring the newest set in our Planner Stamp line. I am COMPLETELY a digital planner girl. I see the CUTEST planner pages and dividers decorated and colored...but frankly, I have an alarm for EVERYTHING (I kid you not. Everything.) and I NEED them. I have myself plus 2 kids going every which way but loose every day. Job and errands and appointments and classes and house stuff. Oh, and my husband and all of his adventures. So, I still LOVE these stamps, and since I don't play with my paper planner (even though I have a beautiful, fun nice one that I DO use to track all my DT deadlines, actually...), I am inspired to find other uses for these cuties other than JUST planner work (although they are, of course, perfect for that). So in this particular project, I made a cute Valentine's tag for a little giftie I made for the aforementioned husband. Love this sweet image! I colored the heart with a yellow glaze pen and used some of my Fun Stamper's Journey sprays on the chalkboard background and the banner to distress (read: manly) it up a bit. The image is stamped using Fun Stampers Journey Whipped Cream ink - the best white ink I've ever seen, in case you're wondering.

Aud Sentiments #148: Love Sentiment

Happy Thursday! Happy February!! So...wow. Who's ready for Valentine's Day?? We still have kiddo valentines to do this weekend, but at least at this point, we're ahead of the game!

I'm so excited to be back here today sharing a card with you for the Aud Sentiments DT! Aud Sentiments is a bi-weekly challenge with a theme. The one special thing to note is you MUST use a sentiment on your card to enter our challenge. It can be on the inside even, just show us the sentiment!
