TGIF! How is everyone today?

I wanted to share a card I made a couple of weeks ago for one of the February Viva la Verve challenges. This one called for a monochromatic creation using this sketch layout. I went with blue, and my colors are Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze. The stamps are a mish-mash, the main image and horizontal background piece are images from Impression Obsession, the vertical background piece is {Little Paper Shop}, and the sentiment is from Stampendous. I made the grid background with my Scor-Pal.

Limelight #14 & A Dutch Dare Challenge

Welcome to Limelight Sketch & Product Thursday! Mandy always has a great challenge for us, and this week is no exception! You can see the sketch {above}, and the product focus is...Pretty In Pink… The Pink Panther... Other than being movies, what else do they have in common? How about the color pink!?! This week at Limelight Papercrafts we are focusing on all things pink… with one exception… it must sparkle, shimmer or shine! We want to see your pink bling!!! Stickles, Shimmerz, Kaisercraft Rhinestones, sparkle fibers… You name it, Limelight carries it -and we want you to use it! Don’t have any that we carry? Hip to be Square - CBC34

Should I say it again today? "Wednesday already?!" LOL. Time for the Belli Challenge - this week, it's all about SQUARES. If you're not familiar with the challenge, belli is short for embellishment - each week our challenge founder, Chris, chooses an embellishment for us to showcase. TSSC8 & AFSS8 - Naughty Fluffles!

Here's another card using MJ's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge #8 (TSSC8). I also incorporated Allison's Suggestive Sunday for this week (AFSS8) - which was kitty stamps! Fluffles is my favorite kitty, although there are many great ones out there. I even have a TAC set that is realistic kitties. But for this one I reached for Fluffles.

I had this color combo in my head, but I wanted to use designer paper for the left hand layer. Well, the only DP I could find in grey in my ENTIRE STASH was this winter one - if you can belive that {I know!?!?!}. So then I had to get out my only winter Fluffles (I was hoping to use the Ladybug Fluffles in honor of Spring)...and it all went from there. I'm not thrilled with this one - probably due in part to the winter theme, LOL. It is 46 degrees today though so I shouldn't complain.

Really straightforward card. I colored the image {stamped on Poison Ivory shimmery cardstock with StazOn Stone Grey} with Prismacolor markers and Glaze pens. I added glitter to the red parts of the stocking and the berries. The cheers stamp is from A*Muse. The dark red cardstock {it is darker than "Real Red"} is from Archiver's.

Now try to be good....you don't want to end up like Fluffles this year!

Naughty or Nice?

DH and I are going to be heading north to the (even more) frozen tundra tomorrow to see our very first ever LIVE Packers game at Lambeau Field. I had been to a couple of games in Minneapolis when I was in college, but never AT Lambeau. So, since we'll be gone all day tomorrow and I won't likely get online at all, I'm posting another card now for your weekend viewing pleasure.

Still working with this Real Red/Basic Gray/light blue combo, in this case it's the old Stampin' Up! retired Bliss Blue b/c after I colored in the stocking with my Prisma markers, the blue was a little bit too dark to look right with Bashful. I love this little Fluffles with the guilty look and the "Coal Again?!" saying. It's just too fun.

I stamped the Flannel Plaid stamp in Versamark on the Bliss Blue then heat embossed it with "Elfin Mist" EP from the LSS. I have had it forever, won a few little pots of their store brand EP awhile back as a door prize and never used it. I LOVE it though, it's so sparkly (like SU's Iridescent Ice EP) but has some color to it also, a light minty green and a light lavender. It looks amazing IRL. Did my ticket corners and added the red brads, the gray grosgrain is from Ribbons and Bows Oh My!. All the coloring is with my beloved Prisma markers. Christmas assortment Prima Flowers from the "Got Flowers?" line. White gel pen on the scallop rings and I put the main image on dimensionals.
Pretty fast card, except for the coloring but overall I think it turned out well. Especially since I had no plan at all when I sat down at the stamp table except to lose myself in stamping for a few precious minutes! LOL!

My favorite so far for SC142

Here's the other card I made last night for Sketch Challenge 142 (see next post down for more info on the SC's). This is my favorite of all the three cards I made with this sketch, I think it's the colors.

Another 5x5 card, this one used Soft Sky and Chocolate Chip cardstock and ink, and Soft Sky "prints" designer paper. Added some extras to this one, lots of brads and sponging, some faux stitching and a little card gem from AMuse. As you can see, I *heart* my ticket corner punch. I have some detail shots below of the faux stitching and the card gem for those who are curious (the detail in the gem didn't come out well in the pic).

SC142 on splitcoaststampers

I am really loving this latest Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. Here is the second card I made for this sketch, I had some "me time" last night and I used it wisely!

Nothing too overly complicated about this one. All Stampin' Up! cardstock in Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Rose Red. Same for inks and markers. Weathered background and the splatter from Itty Bitty Backgrounds, plus Paint Spot Backgrounder from Cornish Heritage - I love their backgrounds! Of course Agapanthus Cluster from Stampendous, I just got this last week and it's the first time it's seen ink! I don't know how I waited so long. tee hee. I used the Zig painty to add some gold around the rim of the Rose Red layer, and it didn't come out in the photo but I added gold Pearl Ex & hairspray over the top of the pink flowers. Inked the stamp with markers. Some twill I had lying around and viola. This is a 5x5 square card due to the size of the main image.

Card for Victoria

I could not get back to sleep this morning after DH went to work so I got up and decided to stamp. I saw some posts on various blogs regarding a girl in Texas named Victoria who is battling cancer. Her teacher is trying to get 5,000 cards/letters via US mail to her by the end of this month. I thought that was a GREAT reason to get stamping, so here is my contribution! It's heading her way in today's mail. Check out Courtney's blog for more info on Victoria's story and for a chance to win some blog candy. Angelosity also has some blog candy for participating, as does Beate. So get stamping!!

This card used the following supplies: Stampendous Tier of Treats, Starvingartistamps Mosaic Background (I LOVE THIS STAMP!!!), Stampin' Up! Mini Mates and By Definition (it's in white ink over the mosaic so it's hard to see in the pic). All cardstock by Stampin' Up!, plus *lots* of glitter and some self-adhesive rhinestones. I colored in the treats using Prisma alcohol markers.

This card also fits in with the Sketch Challenge for this week at SCS, SC142 (except that I added the extra little square at the top left b/c it NEEDED something extra there). Wow!! That's the first time I've ever done a sketch while it was still "fresh", LOL!
