Limelight's Anniversary Celebration -- and PRIZES!!

**Scroll down one post for my LPS Monday card!!**

Hi everyone! Lots going on today!! Did you know that Limelight Papercrafts is officially ONE YEAR OLD? How fun is that?! I was a Seventh Six Chick {Guest Designer} for Mandy back in February and had a blast working with her and the team! She's such a sweetie and she's SO excited about this big day for her shop so she's going ALL OUT. Customers, friends, blog readers, stampers....you get the goodies.

Mandy's DT, along with some friends, are having bunches of games and prizes. Oh yes! There are 14 of us in all, and she says you can enter for ALL of the prizes! You can visit Mandy's blog post here for the full lineup of games and a listing of all the prizes up for grabs.

And now for MY game! I am having a PHOTO SCAVENGER HUNT. I chose this particular game because I actually won a prize from Mandy last fall during her WCMD contest for the photo scavenger hunt, and I had SUCH fun playing along! Up for grabs is a Flashee Fuchsia Shimmerz and a Mudpie Shimmerz Spritz. Woo hoo!! Have you tried the new Shimmerz Spritz? My BFF Heather is on their DT and she showed me -- swoon!! Good stuff, way better than the Glimmer Mist or similar products. You need some, trust me.

So, how do you play? I want to see the following THREE photos. You can post them on your blog if you'd like, and then leave a comment here on THIS POST with a link so we can all check them out. If you don't have a blog you can still play along, just e-mail me your photos with the subject line "Limelight Contest" {so I don't accidentally dump you into SPAM} and I'll include your entry. You must have all three photos to be entered. Easy peasy! Oh, and these don't have to be NEW photos, or even taken specifically for this contest. It just has to be *A PHOTO* of the specified item {and you are encouraged to use your imagination.}. Ok, are you ready? Let's see your best pictures of...

  • A cat nap
  • Something yummy
  • Four

On Thursday, June 4th, at 10 AM the contest will close and we will choose our favorite entry to be the winner! Remember, there's a chance at a Flashee Fuchsia Shimmerz and a Mudpie Shimmerz Spritz in it for you. Enjoy!

LLPC016 and MORE Blog Candy!

Hello and Happy Saturday!! I hope your weekend is off to a good start! I know mine is (finally, an end to this yucky week, and it's finally looking up!). I got to stamp last night and I made TWO cards, and this is one of them! I wanted to play along with the current Limelight Papercrafts Sketch Challenge - keyword LLPC016. Here's the sketch:The product focus for this challenge (in case you couldn't guess from the sketch) is RIC RACK! Mandy has some cool 1.5" ric rack in the store, that is a WIDE load, LOL. Looks like a lot of fun to play with though. She is giving some away as a prize for this challenge, so you have through tomorrow night to play along for your chance to win! You can see her blog post with all the details here.

My image is another of my new Anki's Sweethearts from SCACD. Really having fun with these little cuties, and they are so much fun to color! I colored with a combination of Prismacolor pencils w/ Gamsol and Copic markers. That Easter background paper is actually iridescent, although the photo didn't really pick it up. SO cute!

Ok, I know you've only read this far to get the blog candy I promised in the title. *g* Mandy has generously donated a package of Pebbles, Inc. ribbon for me to give away! I have chosen Olive Green, there are five yards in the package, one yard each of five different styles. If you'd like to add this goodie to YOUR ribbon stash, leave me a comment on this post by the end of the night Wednesday, March 11th. I will draw a winner on Thursday morning, March 12th. Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by today!

I absolutely LOVE both Lily and Billy, they just could not be cuter, IMHO! After coloring with Copics I added some Stardust Stickles to Lily. I painted the large Prima with Hottie Pink Shimmerz and all the pearls in the center are from Kaiser {Limelight has the BEST prices on pearls and rhinestones and all the new Shimmerz colors in stock!}. Yum!

Limelight Valentine's Day Project!

Hello everyone! TGIF! It is supposed to be warmer here today so I am hoping for pool weather for the kids. Gotta get it while we can - we head back to frigid Wisconsin next week, eek!! Although at least I'll have my normal camera back and all my links, let me say, you don't realize how much you NEED the computer until you're away from it. But again, I'll take the sunshine and nice temperatures while I can!

Well, in the meantime, I have something special for you today! Today is the big reveal of the Limelight Papercrafts Design Team's "big project" for the month. This month was to make a Valentine's Day gift and card for a friend. How FUN!! Also, going on now at the Limelight Papercrafts webstore, select Valentine's Day items are 20% off. Great prices to begin with, and now a SALE!! I will meet you over there, you can view all the important details here.

Here is my Gift contribution for the DT this month. The little mailbox is from the Target {Twenty-Five} Dollar spot. *wink*. I covered it with some black cardstock and then added papers from the Basic Grey Bittersweet 6x6 pad. LOVE THESE PAPERS!!! I added a bunch of flowers that I had painted with Pink Poinsettia and Pixie Dust Shimmerz Blingz (those are brads in the center of the flowers but it's hard to tell in the pictures of course). The stamps on the mailbox are actually from Little Paper Shop, I love these beautiful saying from the {A Dream} set. In the top picture you can see my rhinestone heart, that was so much fun! Hopefully you can tell it's a heart, heehee. Then some wide grosgrain around the flag and we're all set on the side!

Next is a view of just the card. Again, Bittersweet papers to match the mailbox. Also some Kaisercraft pink bling in the corners and my new favorite ribbon too {that awesome 5/8" textured yummyness Mandy carries!}! This image is from Stamping Bella -- it makes me smile and it looks DELICIOUS!! I colored it with varying shades of pink Copics.

And here is everything all opened up, so you can see the goodies inside! Some yummy chocolates, scented lip gloss in "Heavenly Vanilla" and some gorgeous stampin' goodies perfect for Valentine's Day! Shimmerz, pearls and flowers, oh my! heehee.
That's it for now! Hope you all have a great start to the weekend. Be sure to go over and see what the rest of the DT did: Becky, Ryann, Lee, Lorie, Jen Marie, Mandy, Lisa, and my sista guest designer this month, Kristen. See you tomorrow!

Limelight #14 & A Dutch Dare Challenge

Welcome to Limelight Sketch & Product Thursday! Mandy always has a great challenge for us, and this week is no exception! You can see the sketch {above}, and the product focus is...Pretty In Pink… The Pink Panther... Other than being movies, what else do they have in common? How about the color pink!?! This week at Limelight Papercrafts we are focusing on all things pink… with one exception… it must sparkle, shimmer or shine! We want to see your pink bling!!! Stickles, Shimmerz, Kaisercraft Rhinestones, sparkle fibers… You name it, Limelight carries it -and we want you to use it! Don’t have any that we carry? Use the bling you have, just make sure it’s pink! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

If you upload to SCS, use the keyword LLPC014. Here is my contribution:

Most of my products came from Limelight Papercrafts webstore, of course. Only the best! Pink bling from Kaiser, Love Robotz stamp set {Stampendous}, Bazzill Cardstock and Bling Cardstock....so much fun!

Did I mention that this challenge has a PRIZE??? Now that you've seen my project, head over to the Limelight Papercrafts BLOG if you haven't already, because if you play along and link up your creation, you can have a chance to win a jar of Shimmerz and a package of bling! Two of my favorite things! All entries must be submitted by Sunday, February 8th at midnight.

Limelight is also hosting the challenge today over on the Dutch Dare Challenge Blog to make a Valentine with non-traditional colors (no red or pink!). That is a totally separate challenge with another AMAZING prize, click the link for more details. In addition to snapping up ALL the bestest products for her store, Mandy is just sooo generous.

Oh, and tomorrow is the big Limelight Design Team project for February - a Valentine's Day gift and card for a friend! See you then!

LPS Monday - No Lion!

Monday already?! I for one am not ready - tomorrow morning {early, early, EARLY} the kids and I are leaving for Florida for 2 weeks to visit my parents! We are all so excited but really...not ready yet! Too much left to do before we go!

Well, it is Monday though, and that means a new card from Little Paper Shop! I got my goodie/welcome package from the SUPER-generous Julia and I broke out some new stamps right away to create this card!

This card uses Jungle Fun - I love these adorable animals!! I decided to play along with Mandy's sketch over on the Limelight Papercrafts blog, although I know I am late with the sketch from this week. It is still a good one so that works for me! The colors are Summer Sun and Chocolate Chip. I stamped the lion in Palette Noir and colored with Copic markers. I masked him off and stamped the AMuse oval so he wasn't "floating". The main image is up on dimensionals.
After I stamped the leaves on the Summer Sun background piece I painted the entire panel with Sunflower Shimmerz. Love my Shimmerz!! I get mine from Limelight - the ribbon is from there too. Somehow extra stuff always jumps into my cart. *wink*. Here's a sunshine angled view so you can SEE the Shimmerz...

Did you know you can color Dew Drops {or generic "faux" Dew Drops} with Copic markers to make custom colors? It's one of my favorite quickie embellishment tricks and I used it here!!

Thanks for visiting today! We're leaving first thing tomorrow to visit my parents. Due to some unexpected things with the kids last week, I got a bit behind so I may not have a blog post for tomorrow or Wednesday, but I will be back on Thursday at the latest with more STUFF! If I get the packing done and a few minutes to relax you can bet I'll be stamping tonight though. My mom can't WAIT to see the kids so you know I'll be stamping as soon as we get down there. WOOHOO!

LLPC012 - Embellished Cupcake

Wow, it's the end of the weekend already! I've been meaning to post this card all day. Last night I went to Scrapmania with my friends Heather and Jess and we had a blast. I managed to get THREE {eek, only three!} cards done, and this is one of them. Quality over quantity!! {Right?}

Mandy over at Limelight Papercrafts posted her bi-weekly sketch challenge plus product focus, and I really wanted to play along since I hadn't done one in awhile. So this was one of the projects on my "must do" list last night at Mania. Here is the sketch:

as you can see I accidentally "mirror image'd" it, LOL. The product focus was to use textured elements.

My texture was the pink tulle, the satiny ribbon along the seam of the paper, and the pearls on the cupcake. I actually used textured and bling'd cardstock as the card base as well (but then I covered it up with patterned paper! oops!). The image is from Pink Papery Studios.

You still have a few hours to play along with Mandy's fun sketch!
