Good morning everyone! It's Choosday already! That means a new Digi Choosday challenge, and a new DISCOUNT CODE for the Polkadoodles shop! Head over to the blog to grab it before your shopping spree!
I've created a Swing Arm Card today, which is a really cool, fun and easy technique that's new to me. I found the instructions on Graphic 45's YouTube channel here, and I knew I had to try this immediately. My project is starring the wonderful Winnie Wednesday! This particular witch-y image is called Pumpkin. I've paired her with yummy papers from the Halloween/Autumn Papers 1 pack, and sentiments/embellishments from Halloween Trick or Treat Sentiment and Spooky Sentiments bundles. The tree and pumpkins on the inside are from the Autumn/Fall digi stamp bundle. I used the Great Outdoors 6x6 Stencil to create my clouds in the background using distress oxide inks.
To create this project, I've selected and printed a bunch of the digital papers onto Neenah Solar White cardstock. There's the harlequin purple, olive plaid, and the black bats. I also printed my Winnie Pumpkin image, along with the tree and pumpkins. I colored my images with Copic Markers - I buy all of mine at Scrapbookpal.com for their fast shipping and awesome service.
Once I had the layout sketched out in my head and my images colored, I started cutting paper. You can find the cutting guide here (linked from the video tutorial I referenced above). I fussy cut Winnie Pumpkin, and die cut my sentiment using an old tag set from Paper Smooches. I laid down the cloud background using Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide inks with the Great Outdoors 6x6 Stencil. There's foam tape on my layered grass, and on Winnie, the sentiment tag, and the swing arm for some extra dimension and fun. I created a double-sided tag using another sentiment from Polkadoodles on side A and a die cut from My Favorite Things. I attached it near the cord's knot so it would swing freely.
The tree panel layer also flips up (I forgot to take a photo) so you can write on the inside. This was SUCH a fun project to create!
Don't forget to head over to the blog to grab today's discount code! Then shop your heart out. Choosday is the best day!
