MMSC91 - Birthday Prettie!

I've got a special challenge card from Paper Pretties to share with you today!  If you're following along, you already know we are sponsoring the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge for all of February, and there's a new sketch up now you'll want to try out (#91)!  I gave it a whirl, using one of our new Sophia clear acrylic stamp sets from last fall - Surprise Sophia.  What a great smile she has, and I love her frilly little girl dress!  

And here is the sketch for this week's challenge.  You have until Monday, February 21st at 5 pm PST to play along!

I used the new Basic Grey Hopscotch on this card, and colored Sophia with Copic markers.  The border punch is Martha Stewart and the rest of the goodies are from my stash.  It's good to have a stash!

Hambo Hoedown #2 - The Eyes Have It

Monday already?  Yikes!  :)  Well Happy Valentine's Day to all my stampin' friends out there.  I hope that if you're celebrating (or celebrated over the weekend) that you are doing so in style!

Let's kick this Monday off right with a very special Valentine, courtesy of the Hambo Hoedown Challenge!  This is week #2, and we are playing with this SUPAH FUN many-eyed monster.  I *heart* him!  I get such a kick out of monster stamps anyway, and he is totally rockin'.  This week we're incorporating a heart into our Hambo project for the challenge.  Check out the fun over on the blog.

DRS Sketch, C4C47 - Here Comes Cooper!

Happy Sunday!  I am so excited to be blogging today because last night I stamped....JUST FOR FUN!!!  Yes, yes, yes!  It was fabulous.  Not that I don't ADORE my design team work, because I absolutely do, but the last month or two I've been so strapped for time in the REST of my life that I haven't done much stamping outside of the DT goodness (as you can see from my less-frequent blog posting).  But things are settling down a bit so last night I stamped and colored to my heart's content and played along with TWO challenges!!

Here is my card, featuring Look Out World Cooper from Paper Pretties.  He was my first Cooper purchase, I just love him!  He reminds me of my boys, so ready to take on anything!  My baby is going to Kindergarden this fall so I paired him with the sentiment from Off To School Sophia - it just FIT with this fall/boy Oliver patterned paper from Basic Grey.  I also used one of the Oliver Glazed Brads.  Ribbon is May Arts; Olive Ric Rack and the red came from Archiver's.  I used the QuicKutz Apples embossing folder to keep with the school theme.

I incorporated two challenges here!!  Woo hoo!!  I really like participating in challenges and haven't been keeping up very well this summer, so this is fun for me.  :) The first is a sketch, it's the current one from the DRS Designs blog.  This was a great one, especially for adding different papers and textures.  Here it is for reference: 

And the other is an inspiration piece, from the Crazy 4 Challenges blog (C4C47).  I was chatting with Jessie last night and she steered me over there.  Oh my, this room is SO fun!!  Now, I am aware that I did not follow the girly colors of the room (because I really wanted to use this Cooper!), but I love how they mixed the patterns and textures and made it all work.  So I pulled my inspiration from that and used stripes, polka dots, zig zags, and of course my apple background to represent the wall stencils.  Here's the inspiration picture:

  

How fun is that??  Maybe I can redecorate my bedroom...I'm sure that will go over GREAT, hahahahaha!

A couple quick card details if you're interested. I stamped Katie in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white cardstock and colored her with Copic markers. Kaisercraft Pearls on all my ticket corners. I used the VIVA DECOR GLITTER LINER PEN in Hematite for the spots on her wings. Have you SEEN this amazingly awesome new product yet??? I love that it dries raised and shiny (as well as glittery). Such a cool look! Susana is carrying a huge range of their pens, from the glitter to gloss, pearl to glass and she has the HOLOGRAPHIC GLITTER LINER PENS in stock now and ready to ship!! These are a fabulous tool, I love mine, I need more. heehee. Suzanne Dean and Pezadoodle have videos on how these babies work.


Last thing before I go; I also incorporated a sketch today (surprise, surprise!). This is from those nuts over at Crazy 4 Challenges {C4C33}, perfect for my little gal!

A New Prettie Peek

Hello stampers! It's that time again ALREADY! The first preview day for the upcoming April Paper Pretties release, and I'm showcasing today along with some of the other Pretties! The new stamp sets and digital images will be available to purchase on April1st. Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team blogs between now and then for more peeks! {Including me, I'll be back on Saturday with another!}.

My card today uses a new scripture set that will be coming out in rubber. So pretty!

I stamped my image on PTI white with Memento Rich Cocoa and cut it out with Classic Oval Nestabilities. I matted with the new Big Scalloped Oval Nesties for a softer look. NEW yummy Basic Grey paper on this one - just in over at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, I am having a blast with the new patterns! I went with these papers because they wanted to see SPRING over at Crazy 4 Challenges this week {C4C29} and this paper just SCREAMS spring!

Also used a sketch on this, you know I gotta get those in whenever I can, they are my favorite! Taylored Expressions #105 today, I flipped it on it's side to make the horizontal sentiment my main focal image.

Other quick details - I sprayed the white Kaisercraft flowers with Shimmerz Spritz to color coordinate with the papers and add sparkle. A Prima mini rose in the center and I added Smooch Illuminate to it so it would also stand out. I also went over the dove in the scripture with Illuminate {that didn't really show up in the photo}. I love that the Smooch paints have so much sparkle, and that they comes with the little applicator brush. No hunting for a brush and no wash up after use!
