LPS Monday - A BIG Flower!

Monday again! Time to check in with the {Little Paper Shop}! Today I wanted to share a simple yet elegant card (well, I think so anyway!) featuring the {A Dream} stamp set. I have to say, this is one of my absoulte favorites from LPS, because it is so versatile and gorgeous. The wonderful sayings and flourishy script are a real hit.

Before I give all the details on the card I wanted to mention a few important things for today. The first is that there is a big spring sale going on right now at LPS! Yes, every stamp set in the web store has been discounted 10%, just because! That's a fabulous deal for you so head on over. Julia has wonderful customer service (and I know this for a fact because I was a customer long before I was on the design team!) and fabulous images. She has also just released a bunch of digital images that are a great value - and boy are they cute! I didn't get a chance to make a card using them yesterday, but I did print a bunch so you'll see them in action here soon. You can check them out here.

Lastly, be sure to visit the LPS blog today for a brand new sketch challenge! Woo hoo! It's another good one (and a very VERY classic look) I think you will all love it! I stalk the LPS blog so if you play along, be sure to link up so we can all see it! The keyword for uploads is LPSC04 this week. Head over to the blog right here.

Ok, now the details on my card (in case anyone actually read this far)! I used a piece of Almost Amethyst patterned paper from the retired Prints package. Faux stitching around the entire panel using the piercing template and Amethyst marker. I took this ginormous silk flower and painted it with Gold Glimmer Shimmerz Blingz (I buy mine at Limelight Papercrafts). I wrapped the gold and puple organdy ribbons around the center of the card in a quasi-messy way and then stuck the flower over the top so it would hang off a bit. I stamped the sentiment from {A Dream} on white cardstock and punched it out with a 1-3/8" circle punch. I punched a scallop from the Amethyst and added this as the flower's center. Pearls in the bottom corner and viola! Fast (for once), easy and gorgeous! The shimmeris really something on a flower that size in person and to have that beautiful sentiment right in the middle - yay!

Ok, that's all I have for today, but please go check out the rest of the LPS design team to see their Monday creations {links in my left sidebar}, and don't forget to SHOP!
