Good morning stampers! I hope everyone's Thursday is off to a fantastic start. This morning I want to share a new card for this week's Creative Knockouts (#92) where the challenge is....Ribbons and Bows! This week's sponsor is Lemon Shortbread, and oh yes, there is a prize to be won!
I printed 80's Starry Girl in several different colors when I had digis done up last week. When I first sat down to craft, I somehow started going in two different directions with this card, lol! I did get my act together in the end :) I decided to use one of the colored outline versions, and I only added color to her eyes {yes, on purpose} to make them stand out. This is a graduation card for a friend of mine who is done with college as of last week! I love this sentiment from Verve Stamps - sums up everything I would want to say with one small swoop!
This challenge is for ribbon, and you can see I have ribbon in the background between the 2 layers that pulls those two halves (and the colors!) together. At least, it's supposed to ;)
Lots of dimension to this piece, I used foam tape to pop up the various layers and stars. It's a 5th Saturday (for May) at Sketch Saturday, so if we wanted to play along we had lots of past challenges to choose from (Sketch Saturday #363)! This card follows the Sketch Saturday #216. I also used ColourQ 292 for this week (see swatches, the number is off on the ColourQ graphic):
That's it for me today! Don't forget to swing over to the Creative Knockouts blog to link up your "Sentimentally Yours" projects for your chance to win with Lemon Shortbread! My DT sisters have created some beautiful inspiration, so leave them some love too!
Challenges:
Penny's Papercrafty - #230: Anything Goes (entry 1 of 3)
Crafting Cafe - #119: Graduation (non-traditional, but my intent was Graduation for this card, to give to my sweet friend for powering through her degree!)
I'll be back here tomorrow with a new challenge from Simply Papercraft. So many awesome upcoming challenges and fun events! Stamp happy!
