RELEASE DAY!! New Images at SCACD!

It is finally here!! Release day at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! Two mini releases by two AMAZING artists, Elisabeth Bell and Victoria Case!! The stamps will be up and available in the store at 9:00 AM EST (6:00 AM PST). These fabulous new stamp lines are called The Special Edition Ornament Collection by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD and Everyday Gals by Victoria Case for SCACD. You do NOT want to miss these!

Today, all the members of the SCACD design team are showcasing projects from these brand new collections. I have the privilege of introducing you to Two Turtle Doves. Such a sweet image!! I had a blast playing around with this gorgeous girl, I actually made two projects. Here is my card sample:

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers. I did lots of highlighting with the Ranger white gel pen when all the coloring was done. Then I created my card base and stamped the image again, directly onto the Artichoke cardstock. I cut out the inside of the ornament with my craft knife. I added a piece of acetate to the backside of the card, covering the opening, and then put foam tape all around. I put a nice pile of glitter onto the transparency, added the colored image to the back, and viola, snow-covered shaker card! (I know it's hard to see in the photo, and I also shook it up before I snapped it, heehee). I added glitter to the holly leaves and the berries, plus a nice glittery brad to make that last berry pop.

I also made an ornament! I found these fabulous heart-shaped ornaments at Michael's and I absolutely couldn't resist them for this image!

For this project, I stamped the image directly onto a piece of acetate using Jet Black StazOn ink. I colored it with Glaze Gel Pens on the backside of the stamped image. Cut around the image, and then rolled it up and put it inside the ornament. Dumped in lots of glitter (of course), shook it up so it coated the sides and parts of the acetate sheet, and then dumped out the excess. It will eventually settle, but it's easy to shake up again. I didn't want to take a chance on getting TOO MUCH glitter by using a liquid adhesive to make the glitter stick, because then we couldn't see this beautiful image inside! A nice piece of organdy ribbon for the hanger and she is ready to give as a gift this season!

I hope you will enjoy this release as much as I have! Remember, the stamps will be on sale today at 9:00 AM Eastern so be there! Head around to all the rest of the DT's blogs to see samples from the rest of The Special Edition Ornament Collection by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD and your first look at the Everyday Gals by Victoria Case for SCACD.
