Hello!! Welcome to another Try It Out Tuesday from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! This week (TIOT29) we are feelin' like giftin'!! DT leader Suzanne Dean challenged us to make a gift of some kind. Well, for once I actually had an idea for a gift item right away! I know, can you believe it?
Today I reached for Rian. She's so sweet and shy looking, and the puppy love is pretty clear for all to see! I stamped her in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic markers. When she was ready I set her aside and made my box. I have a plastic take out box that I used as a template, I loved the size of it so I bought one, took it apart and now I can make as many as I need!
Before I go any further, I have to mention this. Have you tried using Scor-Tape in place of the super-sticky red line tape yet?? I now use it on all my 3D-type projects {and other things too, actually, it's so easy!} - and I want to say this clearly - I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO RED LINE TAPE!!! The Scor-Tape is amazingly cheap, just as sticky as the other stuff and BEST of ALL, you can tear it! No more annoyingness with the scissors every time you need another little piece of the red stuff. Whatever size you need, just tear it right off, it's not even HARD to tear. It comes in a humongous roll and you can make boxes and bags and all kinds of things to your heart's content. I don't even think I can convey my EXTREME LOVE for Scor-Tape via online forum delivery, but trust me, you won't be disappointed by it!
Ok, moving on to the rest of the box. I cut the pieces from white cardstock and assembled it using Scor-Tape. Cut the panels from my computer-generated patterned paper to place onto the sides, punched holes and added the wire handle. The sentiments in the ovals are computer-generated too. Then I just punched them all out, added Rian and the word ovals to the side of the box, and filled it with doggie cookies. My DS #1 is going to be giving this to a certain neighbor dog that he absolutely adores -- he is always asking if he can go over and play with her. I think she'll be pretty excited {about the contents of the box, LOL}.
That's it from me! Thanks for stopping by today! I hope everyone has a great week, and if you have time, Try It Out with us and show us your GIFT IDEAS!
