Here is my project, featuring "Susie Boo Beach Girl" from Lacy Sunshine! Now, normally I FAIL at coloring scenes like this. My skills don't quite extend to creating the amazing background work in addition to the sweet faces. But I just could NOT resist this little beachcomber, so I had to try. Except for that blank sky in the back, I think she turned out pretty well. I guess it's an overcast day at the beach...good for redheaded skin, right?? ;) Well, ya can't really go wrong with a Lacy image any way you do it!

Love this card Jennifer and your colouring is great! I hesitate with sky colouring too but find that a template with a cloudy edge, blue distress inkpad (usually Tim Hotlz 'Tumbled Glass' plus a duster brush is a good way to tackle them.

Hope you don't mind me sharing! Sometimes you'd need to mask off your stamped image, sometimes you can get round it by carefully watching where you add the clouds :)

ReplyDeleteOh Happy Day indeed!! She looks like she's having a great time on the beach!! I love the FSJ die cut...I have it also and it is so versatile! Works beautifully on your card! Great job with the coloring. I use a "Picasso" tool to make my clouds....you can find it at Dreamweaver stencils and I just take a light blue ink on a sponge and run it over the curved edge onto the paper. A little ink goes a long way!! Thanks so much for joining us at Tuesday Throwdown Challenge....really enjoyed your card!!
