LPSC44 - An Old Sketch Is New Again!

It's MONDAY!! That wonderful long weekend flew by! We got a lot done though. I hope you did too, and that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

But yes, it's Monday, which means another great challenge from {Little Paper Shop}!!! We have a WEEKLY challenge, posted each Monday, fully funded by the generous Julia with PRIZES, and the Design Team brings new inspiration. It's a good thing. Embrace the Monday!

This week we have a sketch for you. Well, sort of. This week's challenge is to choose an old LPS challenge sketch and reuse it to make a holiday card! Keyword: LPSC44. You can see the sketch I chose {LPSC05} below, and lots of other choices for your creative enjoyment on the LPS store blog.

A nice classic sketch, and I simplified by making a 4" square card. Patterned paper is Basic Grey Wassail, cardstock colors are Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke and Sahara Sand. A fairly simple card today but definitely a Christmas classic in color and style!

Prettie Peek - Unknown Blessings

Welcome back to blogland! Have you come out of your turkey coma? ;-) Well, I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and a productive Black Friday, if you chose to shop. I am back today with a another Prettie Peek of the upcoming December Release sets from Paper Pretties! This one is called Unknown Blessings.

I think this is a great set! Wonderful sentiments and images both. I have drooled over some of the mailbox sets in the past but now I'm glad I waited! The December release sets will be available next week from the Pretties Boutique {December 1st}. We had so much fun last month using a well-known song for our peeks that we thought we'd try it again, and since we love giving things away, we'll have the same rules for prizes as last month - leave a comment on a card from the Prettie Peeks in the Pretties Gallery and we'll pick names for you to win the new releases! This month, in keeping with Christmas we've chosen a well known Christmas carol - Winter Wonderland!

My inspirational were a bit tougher for today's card! In the end chose "He sings a love song, as we go along". That mailbox is overflowing with love letters, and there are button hearts a-plenty along the side. I needed a break from winter cards anyway so I went with a happy spring & love theme here. It still works with the lyrics - perfect! HERE is a direct link to my card in the Prettie Gallery. I used a sketch today, this is from the Diedrich Dare #12, a great sketch by Jack {you can see it on the blog}. Lady Sophia is colored with Copics, and I added glitter to her dress, shoes and hat. Victoria Case Stamps Challenge #26

Happy Thanksgiving!! Today will be a two-post day, so come back in a bit for a SPECIAL SNEAK PEEK at the upcoming December release from Paper Pretties!

This first card is for this week's challenge on the Victoria Case Stamps Challenge Blog. It's a sketch, my favorite! I chose another of the images from the Every Day Gals; Victoria Case for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. This is Suzanne, named for our DT lead, Suzanne Dean, one of the most talented papercrafters I know! I thought this would be an appropriate image for this week, since tomorrow is Black Friday!

She is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I also used the colors from the current Raspberry Suite color challenge {#19} from Dawn McVey, what a gorgeous one - the PTI colors of Raspberry Fizz, Dark Chocolate, Spring Moss, Aqua Mist & Lavender Moon! I even got them all in there!

An Inspirational Prettie and a Mercy Sketch!

Hello again! It's Wednesday already, which is my Paper Pretties showcase day, with a new blog hop and challenge each week! Full details on the challenge can always be found on The Paper Clip.

We would love for you to ink up your Paper Pretties stamps and play along with us! This week's week's challenge comes from Christie, who gave us the great photo above and asked for inspiration from it. Fun!

I pulled my inspiration from these fabulous colors. Some of my favorites in there anyway, and lots of combination options! The image was an easy choice; I used this upcoming Mermaid Sophia stamp. I am so in love with her! Look at that gorgeous hair and her beautiful tail. She's perfect!

TIOT45 - Coffee Break!

Welcome to this week's Try it out Tuesday from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! This week our challenge is to BUTTON UP, use buttons on your project -- keyword: TIOT45!

I decided to combine this with this week's Copic Colour Challenge 40 - see below for the colors. Just perfect for this new Elisabeth Bell for SCACD image, Latte. Love it! I can just picture, springtime at a little cafe somewhere nice...like Italy. Wishful thinking? Hey, go big or go home!

The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers of course. My buttons are from Basic Grey, as is the patterned paper. Unfortunately I don't have any of the AWESOME new glitter buttons from American Crafts that Susana is now stocking, so I had to make do with some Glitter Dots for extra "umph". {Not that I don't still love my Glitter Dots, but have you SEEN the American Crafts buttons??}. The ribbon and pink spiral clip are from my stash.

A Christmas Tree Sketch!

Welcome to the week! I can't believe it's Monday. I took the weekend off from blogging since it was my DS #2's birthday and DH & my wedding anniversary. So much to celebrate! But I'm back now with some inspiration for you from the {Little Paper Shop}. This week is actually a color challenge (see below) but I messed up when I made this card and forgot the color part. Don't know what happened there!

I used a sketch to make this card, Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #48 {MTSC48}. This one is for the current week, a new sketch will be up tomorrow. Here it is for reference:

My colors this week are Handsome Hunter, Summer Sun and Real Red. The CHALLENGE colors are Kraft, Real Red and Brown:

I started off by stamping the Christmas Tree from {Katie Christmas} in Handsome Hunter ink. I went over the whole tree with a clear Spica Glitter Pen, which added some shine and bled the water-based ink a little for a softer look. Stamped the star on top and colored with a yellow Spica Glitter Pen. Embossed the red and yellow layers with Cuttlebug folders, added ribbon and the Prima poinsettia and it was all set!

Victoria Case Digi Release!

TGIF!! I am glad it's Friday, but I can't believe how the week flew by! Today I wanted to share the card I made for the latest Victoria Case Stamps digital release! Woo hoo! I think this is my favorite one yet, he just reminds me so much of my DS#1. Storybook is just one of the images you can grab today so check them out at Victoria's stamp store.

My colors are Baja Breeze, Real Red and So Saffron. The patterned paper is from Stampin' Up! from last year, in those colors. I LOVED Baja Breeze! I didn't hoard nearly enough, I don't know what I will do when I run out!

I incorporated a sketch with this week's release, you know how much I love sketches!! This is TESC91 from last week, I will be using this one again, it's classic! Here's the sketch:

Winter Wonderland Mojo #113

Happy Thursday to you all in blog land! Hope everyone is having a good week!
I am sad to say I'm halfway through my awesome month guest designing for Victoria Case Stamps. It's been such fun, and don't worry, there is still some great stuff yet to come before December rolls around! Victoria has named Thursday as challenge day! This week we have a color challenge - Navy, Gray and White. My favorite winter/Christmas color combo! I knew what I had to do here. ;-) You can check out the Victoria Case Stamps Challenge Blog for all the challenge details.

My image is a Victoria Case for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design (SCACD), and this image is called Snow Fun, from the Winter Wonderland collection. I think I've mentioned a time or ten that I am NOT big fan of winter...although I do like the CONCEPT of winter, LOL, hence I love winter images! Just not...snow on the roads and freezing temperatures. So I knew this sweetie pie would be perfect for Victoria's color combo! I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I added white Sparkly Fluff to her boots, mittens and hat, and Stardust Stickles to the highlights of the snow and the snowman.

I made the bow with the Bow Easy - you have heard me rave about this tool before but I'll say it again - I LOVE IT!! I have 2 pieces of grosgrain ribbon, white and navy. I cut them extra long to go around behind my snowflake panel and then made the bow with the Bow Easy. When it was done I had a perfect bow with nice long tails, which I taped behind the precut panel, and viola, a flat bow right in line with my ribbon! I was really pleased with how that turned out! Lots of dimension here too, and the sentiment is from the Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Special Edition Ornament Collection.

PWC78, TESC91 - If The Shoe Fits...

Hello again! It's Wednesday already, which is my Paper Pretties showcase day, with a new blog hop and challenge each week! Full details on the challenge can always be found on The Paper Clip.

We would love for you to ink up your Paper Pretties stamps and play along with us. This week's week's challenge comes from Heather, who asked to see cards with Red, White, Black, and GLITTER. Oh yeah! I can handle that one for sure, one of my favorites!

For my card I used the new Sassy Shoes set. Talk about FABULOUS! Wouldn't you love to have a pair of those?? I stamped the polka dot shoe and the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white cardstock, and colored the shoe with Copic markers. I cut both images out with Classic Circle Nestabilities, along with the red mats. I added black Stickles on all the scallops and crystal effects to the heel of the shoe.

TIOT44 - Got the Blues?

Welcome to this week's Try it out Tuesday from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! This week our challenge is to create a card using any mix of blue and one neutral or metallic -- keyword: TIOT44!

Well a BLUES challenge definitely calls for Atlantia, one of the newly released Elisabeth Bell for SCACD images from the Sampler Edition 2. Is she not the most gorgeous sea nymph/fairy you've ever seen? Love her!

The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. I gave her streaky lighter blue hair and a darker, flowing blue gown. I added just a touch of peach for the shells she has, and followed it with the pearls along the side of the card. Her wings are fully glittered using holographic ultrafine glitter applied with my Quickie Glue Pen. The sea-themed embellishments are from Dress It Up.

LPS Preview - {For You}

Welcome to the week! I can't believe it's Monday. Well we started off yesterday with new PREVIEWS for the November release from the {Little Paper Shop}, and we are continuing that party train today! This is {For You}, a beautiful sentiment set that includes a mixture of quotes and names in a fabulous font. You'll reach for this one over and over!

I used a sketch to make this card, Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #47 {MTSC47}. This one is for the current week, a new sketch will be up tomorrow. Here it is for reference:

I started off by stamping this sweet Mommy-to-be from {Swell News} in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloring her with Copic markers. I used a marker to ink up this wonderful sentiment in an arrangement to better fit into a rectangle, then cut her and the sentiment panel out with Classic Rectangle Nestabilities. When they were ready I added the horizontal panel and faux stitching (using my trusty Ranger Inksentials white gel pen. Paper is Basic Grey Indian Summer and the pearls from Kaisercraft. Hope you like it!

LPS Preview - {I Heart}

Happy Sunday to you! I hope you're having a great weekend! It's "that time" again ALREADY, a new release is coming your way from the {Little Paper Shop} and today we have your first preview. This is {I Heart}.

I used a sketch to make this card, MOJO112 from the Mojo Monday blog. Always been a fan of the Mojo Monday and this is no exception. This one is still current, a new sketch will be up tomorrow. Here it is for reference:

I started off by stamping this adorable hot air balloon in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, masking it off and adding the oval underneath. I colored the image with Copic markers and did some highlighting with the Ranger white gel pen. Cut it out with Classic Circle Nestabilities, added the horizontal panels, and put the card together. Paper is Basic Grey Bittersweet, pearls from Kaisercraft and the ribbon is May Arts.

I have the privilege of leading off the festivities this time with Marianne, who is workin' off all those virtual calories AND looking fabulous! As soon as I saw her I said to myself "Pink workout clothes! Definitely!!" So I ended up with this pretty patterned paper and some Soft Suede (Stampin' Up!) cardstock to accent it. I stamped Marianne in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copics. Some color accents with the Ranger white gel pen when that was complete, then matted her and the rest of the layers, added the Glitter Dots (one of my Top 5 Embellishments for sure!) and she's ready to rock!

My image is a Victoria Case for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design (SCACD), and this is one of the Everyday Gals (Ms. MyTime). I personally love taking bubble baths with my time, so I think she is very appropriately named! I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I cut the image to size and matted on Kiwi Kiss cardstock, then added some pearls. The patterned paper is Basic Grey Urban Prairie, one of my all-time favorites. This is a sketch challenge card, and the sketch called for skinny vertical panels on the left side, which I of course turned in to RIBBON! Victoria Case Digi Release!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!! It's going to be a two-post day so get ready! First up we have a new digital release today for Victoria Case Stamps! Woo hoo! This little Pumpkin Fairy is just one of the images you can grab today so check them out at Victoria's stamp store.

My colors are (appropriately) Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi, with some fall-themed patterned paper I got at Target of all places. Nothing too wild and crazy about this card, but I was pretty happy with how she turned out.

I printed the digital image using Photoshop Elements onto PTI white cardstock, colored with Copic markers, and did some color highlighting with the Ranger white gel pen. Added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter using the Quickie Glue Pen (the bestest around for adding powders!!) for her wings. Ticket corner punch and some gems on the main image and she's ready to go! The sentiment is from the Butterfly Wishes set from The Greeting Farm.

TIOT43 - Scene It!

Welcome to this week's Try it out Tuesday from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! This week our challenge is to create a SCENE using one of the new Victoria Case Winter Wonderland images -- keyword: TIOT43!

I thought about this challenge for quite a while, and in the end I decided to make a diorama card. Love these! They are so cool to look at and fairly easy to make. I used several images from the latest exclusive stamp collection from the SCACD store called Victoria Case for SCACD - Winter Wonderland. Loving these sweet winter images! I used Skater for my main image, and since she's out enjoying herself on the lovely winter day, I added a light snowfall on the front acetate sheet as well using silver ink. The main image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers, then cut out tight to the image. To make the background of my scene, I embossed the Cuttlebug snowy village onto white cardstock and added some color to parts of the image with my Copics. I also added some tint to the pond she's skating on before painting with Winter Frost Inspirations Paint. Glittery snow went onto the rooftops using my Quickie Glue Pen.

I popped up the skater so she sits in between the acetate window in the front and the village in the back. Added a little winter holiday sentiment and a bit of bling and she is all set! LPS Monday - The Carolers Are Ready!

It's MONDAY!! The weekend flew by! We had amazingly gorgeous weather here BOTH days, sunny and close to 70 degrees (remember I live in WISCONSIN). Just wonderful.

But yes, it's Monday, I have been learning to love the Monday because of the {LITTLE PAPER SHOP}!!! Every Monday there's a new challenge (fully funded by the generous Julia with PRIZES) and the Design Team brings new inspiration. It's a good thing. Embrace the Monday!

This week we have a sketch for you. Keyword: LPSC41. You can see the sketch above, and here is my contribution using {Katie Caroler}:

I colored Katie with Koh-i-Nor pencils and Gamsol. Followed the sketch for the layout. I colored a clear button with my Copics to customize it for the card and layered the ribbon and sentiment tag over the top. I think that's it for the highlights!
