Creative Knockouts #152: Anything Goes!

Good morning stampers! I'm a day late, so two posts today! Yesterday started a new challenge over at Creative Knockouts where the challenge is....Anything Goes! This week's sponsor is The Paper Shelter, and they are offering a wonderful prize to a lucky player!

Here is my project, featuring Casual Boy:

I love this image kit. I usually go for the cute little girl images at TPS, but his face and look just screamed at me! AND I even hand-colored him. Because all the TPS "sets" include a pre-colored version and black & white line art, it's sometimes tempting to use the pre-colored version. They are always well thought out, color-wise, and nicely done with the highlights, etc. However, I really wanted to try my hand at coloring him. I got a large set of Prismacolor Pencils on Prime Day (as opposed to the random colors I would buy here and there at stores, never really getting enough to do shading and have "sets" of colors for combos...), and I had to give them a try. It's been a long time since I've used pencils, so for my first stab I was pretty happy with him :)

I'm entering this into the following Challenges:

The Paper Shelter - Summer Break: AG (1 of 3)

Artistic Inspiration - #161: AG (2 of 3)
Lacy Sunshine - AG: 7/24 (2 of 3)

Penny's #288: Anything Goes

Good morning stampers! I hope everyone's week is going well! So crazy around here this summer - it is FLYING by. I can't believe it'll be August in a few days. Still need to get out for school shopping....plus all the activities the kids wanted to do this summer! Yikes!

At least  So let's get on with the new challenge this week over at Penny's Challenge!  This week's sponsors are Lacy Sunshine and Lemon Shortbread. As always, they are offering a wonderful prize to lucky stampers!

Here is my project, featuring "Susie Boo Beach Girl" from Lacy Sunshine! Now, normally I FAIL at coloring scenes like this. My skills don't quite extend to creating the amazing background work in addition to the sweet faces. But I just could NOT resist this little beachcomber, so I had to try. Except for that blank sky in the back, I think she turned out pretty well. I guess it's an overcast day at the beach...good for redheaded skin, right?? ;) Well, ya can't really go wrong with a Lacy image any way you do it!

Do you see how she's in kind of a Polaroid frame? That's part of an awesome Fun Stampers Journey die set that I've been reaching for a lot lately. So versatile and fun! My little one is colored up with Copics, and all the adorable polka dots, along with her bracelet, were done with Nuvo Crystal Drops. The washi tape and sentiment stamp are also from FSJ, Kaisercraft rhinestones, one little layer of foam tape to pop up our "picture". Darice cloud folder. Hand doodled the border on the frame. Cardstock is Neenah and FSJ.

Penny's #287: Christmas in July

Good morning stampers! I hope everyone's week is going well! So many Christmas in July challenges going on, and it is going to be a heat index of 100F here today! LOL, not feeling super Christmassy, I gotta say....

But that's ok, because we love our crafting, and if it means sitting in the AC and thinking Christmas thoughts, hey...whatever works! ;) So let's get on with the new challenge this week over at Penny's Challenge!  This week's sponsors are Star Stampz and The Stamping Boutique. As always, they are offering a wonderful prize to lucky stampers!

Here is my project, featuring "Mail Girl" from TSB! I really like this sweetie, that bold oval border is excellent, and I love a chance to add sparkly snow to things!!

My little one is colored up with Copics, and all the furry parts were done with white Sparkly Fluff and a Quickie Glue Pen. I added Stardust Stickles to the snowflakes and the edge of the snow, along with the edge of my "cloud" snow border at the base. Dies from Lawn Fawn and Gina Marie. Paper from DCVW box 'o scraps, lol.

Here's where I tried to give a better view of the fluff and sparkle:

I'm entering this into Paper ala Mode's Christmas in July this week at Outlawz.

Fairy Tale Challenge - Christmas in July

Dream Valley - Christmas in July

Aloha Friday #76: Christmas in July

Good morning! Aloha Friday is in full swing over at Kitty Bee Designs! Our current challenge is #76: Christmas in July, and this is week #1.  Get our your stamps and play along! Our challenge this week is sponsored by both The East Wind and The Stamping Boutique! Double your pleasure!

My card features Christmas Sexy Girl from The East Wind. Isn't she the BEST?? I want to BE her! Seriously...

I added glitter to the trim of her adorable outfit using a Quickie Glue pen and Art Institute glitter. Today I chose to incorporate the color challenge from Bugaboo's Christmas in July celebration - this is the challenge for Day 7. I thought it was funky and fresh and perfect for this edgy sweetie and some of my favorite Basic Grey Christmas paper! I wanted the red and green to jump out, but I love the pinks and blues in there for added pop-ability!

I'm entering this into the following Challenges:

Bugaboo Christmas in July - Day 7: Color (1 of 1)
Inspiration Destination - #94: AG (unlimited)
Crafting From the Heart - #120: AG (2 of 3)

Craft Your Passion - #320: AG (2 of 3)

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have an AWESOME day!

Penny's Challenge #286: Anything Goes!

Good morning stampers! I hope everyone's week is going well! I have been the World's WORST Blogger lately, creating all my DT cards, but not sharing them on here! LIFE has kinda gotten away from me, but I have resolved to do a better job going forward! Also, I will be back posting all my beauties from the last weeks. I'll fill in the days I don't otherwise have DT commitments, to share these cards with you all!

But in the meantime, there is a new challenge this morning over at Penny's Challenge! Must be Wednesday!

I want to share my card for this current challenge where the theme is - ANYTHING GOES! Well that's an easy one. This week's sponsors are Oddball Art Stamps and Di's Digis. As always, they are offering a wonderful prize to lucky stampers!

Here is my project, featuring "Astrid the Fairy" from Oddball Art Stamps! This is such a great image, I can't get enough of books AND fairies, it's the perfect "just because" card. I really enjoy these sweet stamps that include a poignant but non-specific sentiment. I think it makes the cards that much more versatile, you can hand write a personalized note or greeting on the inside of the card and voila! Your card is a birthday, or thank you, or thinking of you, or congratulations card....JUST like that! So perfect.

My Astrid is colored up with Copics, and glittered on the stars, wings and hair bow with Stardust Stickles. I really like white space with some of these Oddball images because they are SO delicate and detailed, they really do speak for themselves. After she was colored I had the BEST idea for the upper background, and used my Gina Marie Designs Starry Sky Background die to add some dimension and interest. Decided against any more elements or bling because I didn't want to overpower the rest of the design. I'm very pleased with how she came out!

As a double bonus, I'm sharing a second Oddball Art Stamps card in this post. As you can see, I've been a bad blogger lately. I'm still making 4 to 6 cards per week, believe it or not! I just haven't been getting them shared HERE like I should. All of you lovelies see them on their respective challenge and store blogs of course, but I'm getting back into the swing of things finally, work has calmed down, vacation travel is over, and the boys have settled into their summer routines. I've got posts scheduled out for days already! YAY for happy crafting time and PRIORITIES that make me smile instead of cringe. ;) ANYWAY, here's a little bonus inspiration from our beautiful sponsor this week using Nixie the Pixie...I adore this image.

This beauty is colored with Copics, and sparkled up with several types and colors of Art Institute ultrafine glitter. I hand-doodled the border. The embellies are from my Fun Stampers Journey stash - I'm telling you, if you don't know this great company, and even if you NEVER buy a stamp or die set from them - they have the best paper, color palette, and EMBELLISHMENTS. Well-priced, high-quality gorgeousness.

That's it for this post! Don't forget to swing over to the Penny's Challenge blog to link up your projects for your chance to win! My DT sisters have created some beautiful inspiration, so leave them some love too!
