RELEASE DAY!! New Images at SCACD!

It is finally here!! Release day at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! Two mini releases by two AMAZING artists, Elisabeth Bell and Victoria Case!! The stamps will be up and available in the store at 9:00 AM EST (6:00 AM PST). These fabulous new stamp lines are called The Special Edition Ornament Collection by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD and Everyday Gals by Victoria Case for SCACD. You do NOT want to miss these!

Today, all the members of the SCACD design team are showcasing projects from these brand new collections. I have the privilege of introducing you to Two Turtle Doves. Such a sweet image!! I had a blast playing around with this gorgeous girl, I actually made two projects. Here is my card sample:

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers. I did lots of highlighting with the Ranger white gel pen when all the coloring was done. Then I created my card base and stamped the image again, directly onto the Artichoke cardstock. I cut out the inside of the ornament with my craft knife. I added a piece of acetate to the backside of the card, covering the opening, and then put foam tape all around. I put a nice pile of glitter onto the transparency, added the colored image to the back, and viola, snow-covered shaker card! (I know it's hard to see in the photo, and I also shook it up before I snapped it, heehee). I added glitter to the holly leaves and the berries, plus a nice glittery brad to make that last berry pop.

I also made an ornament! I found these fabulous heart-shaped ornaments at Michael's and I absolutely couldn't resist them for this image!

For this project, I stamped the image directly onto a piece of acetate using Jet Black StazOn ink. I colored it with Glaze Gel Pens on the backside of the stamped image. Cut around the image, and then rolled it up and put it inside the ornament. Dumped in lots of glitter (of course), shook it up so it coated the sides and parts of the acetate sheet, and then dumped out the excess. It will eventually settle, but it's easy to shake up again. I didn't want to take a chance on getting TOO MUCH glitter by using a liquid adhesive to make the glitter stick, because then we couldn't see this beautiful image inside! A nice piece of organdy ribbon for the hanger and she is ready to give as a gift this season!

I hope you will enjoy this release as much as I have! Remember, the stamps will be on sale today at 9:00 AM Eastern so be there! Head around to all the rest of the DT's blogs to see samples from the rest of The Special Edition Ornament Collection by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD and your first look at the Everyday Gals by Victoria Case for SCACD.

LPS Preview - {Katie Caroler}

Welcome to {Little Paper Shop} Monday!!! It's a busy day today, we have a challenge, a prize, new designers, and an October release preview. WHEW!!

First off, we are SO excited to announce a new Design Team member!
Ann Kranitz, was our guest designer for the last three months, and we love her so much we had to have her stay!! So welcome ANN! With Ann's guest term up it was time for a new guest designer too; meet Pam Varnell! She'll be with us the next three months. A BIG LPS welcome to Pam!

On to the nitty gritty - today's challenge is extra special! It's a sketch (yay, my favorite!), so we are challenging you to play along with LPSC35, AND we are also previewing the first new stamp that will be released on Saturday October 3rd!! Wow! Yeah, it is going to be a busy week around here so stay tuned.

For today, there are TWO ways to win this lil' sweetheart {Katie Caroler}. If you enter the sketch challenge and leave a comment and link on the
Little Paper Shop store blog by October 5th, you'll get one entry. And as always, the generous Julia gives away one set JUST for commenting on the preview post on the store blog, so get over there right away!

Last thing - if you haven't yet, be sure to join us on our
new forum site! Lots of great ladies, fabulous LPS inspiration, and free exclusive LPS digis!!

ONWARD! Here is the sketch this week:

And here is my card:

I started off by stamping Katie in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, masking her off and adding the fence. I colored her with Copic markers and did some highlighting with the Ranger white gel pen when all the coloring was done. I used Classic Oval Nestabilities to cut and mat the main image. The snow on the fence was done with white Liquid Pearls and the snow by her feet was done with Frosted Lace Stickles. I added a red Kaisercraft Rhinestone inside each scallop (tedious!).

I think it's a great sketch this week so I hope you will be inspired to play along! You can check out the store blog and the rest of the DT for more fabulous cards.

I'll see you back here tomorrow with the HUGE September release from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! You know you don't want to miss that one!

TIOT37, SC246 - Snowy Days Are Coming!

Welcome to this week's Try it out Tuesday from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! This week our challenge is to use Flower Soft on our projects (keyword: TIOT37)! I'm fairly new to Flower Soft but I am loving it! I got the new Polar White in my last order from Susana - not only is it a great addition to flower bouquets, but it makes fabulous snow! As soon as I saw it in person I knew I had to use it to make snow at least once. It already has some snowy shimmer to it, but I added a bit more glitter, just to be safe! ;)

I have missed all my sweet images while I was rehabbing my hand, LOL. So I just had to ink up one of the cutie pies from the Victoria Case for SCACD Hearts & Hugs Collection 2! This is Autumn. I went to "the old standby" for a sketch today, I used this week's Sketch Challenge from Splitcoast (SC246). Here's the sketch:

I started off by stamping her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink (omitting the leaves) and coloring with Copic markers. I gave her nice, rosy cheeks and freckels - couldn't resist that! I paper pieced her tights (too cold for bare legs up here in the great white north)! Then I laid down the snow by her feet - she's having such fun she even kicked up a big clump in front of her boot (obviously, she doesn't have to shovel). Then I added some Shamrock Green Flower Soft to the band of her fuzzy hat. Lots of Kaisercraft Pearls in the corners and she's ready for winter!

A BIG announcement from Susana's Custom Art Card Design too!! The September release is coming up fast!! Next Tuesday the 29th - Susana will be releasing TWO new mini sets by two fabulous artists!! One is from Elisabeth Bell and the other from Victoria Case. All I can tell you is they are absolutely fun and fabulous The store blog Follow Your Heart will have blog candy with sneak peeks beginning on September 26th and running through 11 PM EST on the 28th. Hop on over to check it out. On the 29th you'll get to see cards and projects made with these new stamps on all the DT blogs and the store blog. These new releases will be available at the SCACD Store for purchase at 9:00 AM EST on September 29th so mark your calendar!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you're inspired to try Flower Soft, if you haven't already, or to pull it out if you have some on hand!

LPS Monday - I'm BACK!!

Wow!!! I feel like it's been forever since I've stamped, let alone gotten a new project up on my blog! But things have calmed down and I am almost completely healed from my little biking "mishap" so I am back in action....and just in time!! There is a lot coming up in the next week and you won't want to miss it {I know I don't!}!

Starting things off right with {Little Paper Shop} Monday! This week we have a color challenge for you....behold:

This wasn't the easiest color challenge I've ever tried, but in the end I was lovin' the fall look. Since I missed the release last week due to injury, I had to pull out the brand new {Jena Witch} for this card and get some ink on her. She's the cutest lil' witch EVAH, isn't she??

Now all the important news bits....right now, Julia is offering 10% off these Halloween-themed new releases - {Jena Witch} and {Boo!}. Sale ends tomorrow, Tuesday the 22nd so get over to the store and get yours!

Also, we would love to have you play along with our color challenge this week {keyword: LPSC34}! If you do, be sure to link up your creation on the LPS store blog for a chance to win the new {Jena Witch} set. One winner will be chosen at random from the participants, so get your entry in by next Sunday night.

Last but certainly not least, I want to shout out a HUGE Happy Birthday to LPS's own Bonnie! Yesterday was her birthday {I *believe* she's 21 now?} and I am sending her Ms. Talented lots of love. Hope you had a fabulous trip Bonnie!

That's it for me today, be sure to visit the store blog and the rest of the DT for more colorful inspiration, and link up your projects for that chance to win! See you tomorrow for Try It Out Tuesday, thanks for stopping by.

Temporarily Out of Action

Hi everyone -

I know I've been quiet this week on the blog - I haven't even been stamping! I had a biking accident on Monday and got pretty beat up. I was lucky and I'm going to be fine but I did hurt my right hand and so I can't do much of anything stamping-wise until that heals up some more! So that's why I haven't been posting but I am itching to get back to it!! As soon as I am able I'll be back to creating and blogging; and hopefully in the next few days. So bear with me! Hope you all have a great weekend!

TIOT35 - Meet Matthew!

Welcome to this week's Try it out Tuesday from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! It's sketch time this week (TIOT35), MY FAVORITE!!!

I just had to ink up another of the cutie pies from the Victoria Case for SCACD Hearts & Hugs Collection 2! This is Matthew. I have two boys myself so I am alllll about the boy images! Isn't he perfect? My older one is into dinos so this was a lot of fun to work with. All eight images are available now so be sure to check them out if you haven't already. Remember, you can get the WHOLE SET at once for a significant cost savings (25% off). Can't beat that!

I started off by stamping him in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloring with Copic markers. Did some highlighting with the Ranger white gel pen when all the coloring was done. After he was colored I drew in the floor and colored the floor and walls. I used Petite Oval Nestabilities for the main image. The patterned paper is Basic Grey - Offbeat and Recess (I think). Punchies for the sentiment and the awesome metallic Robin's Nest Dew Drops in teal for my corner embellishment.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to check out all the sketch inspriation from the SCACD design team and on the store blog. I hope if you have time you play along with our challenge and Try Out this fabulous sketch!

It's LPS Monday!

...And we have a sketch challenge for you! My DH and DS #1 went camping this weekend and they took the camera, so my card is sitting here but I won't be able to share it with you until later tonight when they are back and I get a chance to take the photo! But here's the sketch:

Be sure to LEAVE A COMMENT here on the LPS blog linking your creation, and also to use keyword LPSC32 when uploading to a public gallery. Hope everyone has a great holiday!!

TIOT 34 - Look Ma, No Patterned Paper!

Welcome to this week's Try it out Tuesday from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! Suzanne was VERY challenging this week (TIOT34), we are making projects with NO PATTERNED PAPER (and a charm for a twist). Yes, you read that right, no PP. I almost didn't know what to do!! LOL.

This week I chose to use a Pink Cat Studio image, available from SCACD. This is from the Lily & Tweet plate. My favorite! Susana stocks lots of other Pink Cat images, including the newer Sporty Billy and the Fairy Friends.

I started off by stamping them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloring with Copic markers. I painted Mr. Snowman with Angel Wings Shimmerz. After they were colored I cut them out. I used my new Labels 8 Nestabilities for the card base, with Classic Circle Nestabilities layered just underneath the main image. A Cuttlebug folder on the white panel for some texture and viola! Unfortunately I didn't have any charms, but I did add some snowflakes!

Also some SALE NEWS!!!! Susana has put all Shimmerz paints & Blingz and Shimmerz Spritz on sale right now for 30% off!!! As I mentioned I used Shimmerz on my snowman today; you can use Shimmerz on almost anything and it adds SOOOO much to a project! A little goes a long way so it's a fabulous deal! Head over and get yours now!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope if you have time you play along with our challenge and Try Out a project with no patterned paper! If I can do it, you can do it. :) And it turns out -- I had a blast making this one. Visit the other super-talented girls on the SCACD team for more inspiration (links on my left sidebar)!
