September's first DT art!

Here is my first creation for FCD. Every bit of stamping on this card uses the Clearly Cool acrylic stamp set (except I did use a larger open circle that I have too, just a smidge). All the paper and most of the ink is from Stampin' Up, I used Rose Red, Certainly Celery, Creamy Caramel, Glossy White and Whisper White on this card. I also used the Palette Hybrid ink pads - I find these work great with clear stamps. This card used the Burnt Umber and New Canvas colors in addition to the SU inks. There are two techniques used on the main image piece - Retro and Versamark Resist. Added a bunch of extras - brads, prima flowers, ribbon and fibers, some "bling" for the flower center. I was pretty happy with how this card turned out - I really like the words available in this set too, they're very versatile. I think I'll be making some scrapbook pages and altered items with this set in addition to cards.

The first DT projects are coming...

I'm going to be posting some of the first projects I've made using my September design team set from FireCrackerDesignsbyPamela.com shortly. I still have one more project to make for the "minimum" number, so check back later for that one. I just haven't had time to stamp!

Anyway, my September set was one of her new acrylic sets "Clearly Cool". See it
here, just scroll down until you see it.

Lastly, I wanted to mention that Pamela is moving right now, so I believe there will be a delay in order processing until she is settled out east.

The beginning!

Ok, I am jumping on the blog bandwagon! We'll see how well I manage to keep up with it but I thought I would give it a try. Now that I am on the design team for FireCracker Designs by Pamela (Check out the site HERE), I should be having a lot more projects to share on a regular basis, plus news from Pam, tutorials, etc.

The DT appointment with FCD is my first ever, although I have been toying with the idea of applying for such things for awhile now. I am hoping to send some packages in to some papercrafting magazines yet this year as well, and maybe even try for another DT spot! So wish me luck and send inspiring ideas my way!

Of course I am still a hobby demo with Stampin' Up! too, and I plan to continue that as long as I can make my minimums. I just recently found out that my upline is currently in "pending" and will become inactive at the end of September (with no plans to reactivate). My second level has long since dropped and my third level lives a couple of hours away. So suffice to say, I'm on my own in that area! As much as I'd love to say that it has been a great "business" for me, it wouldn't be true. I do love many of the SU products and will continue to use them, but at this point I will be happy just to remain an "active" demo (so ladies, send me your orders, ok?!).

So, lots of things going on on the stamping front. I feel like it will be easier to manage all this info on a blog instead of having it scattered all over my hard drive files, e-mail inbox, and stamp room like it is now (again, we shall see!). Instead of clogging up everyone's inbox with project art and information, then having to go back and find past e-mails so I don't have to retype card instructions 10 times, I'll just post the info here and viola!

Sounds reasonable I hope! Whatcha think?
